  1. Sorry if this is the wrong thread to post this in but I don't know where else to post. I'm trying to live stream the Olympics on nbcolympics.com but it keeps saying I'm location restricted which doesn't make sense to me since I'm in the USA. I'm not even sure I'm logged in cause I can't find the login button. I have comcast cable if that matters. Does anyone know how to make this damn thing work? Thanks
  2. I thought Elon Musk already owned solar city since he founded it or did he not have a controlling interest?
  3. I think I'll hold out for the Titan P. Thanks for the advice.
  4. I was going to wait for the "Titan P" (or whatever they call it) but someone posted an amazing deal on a Evga 980ti FTW for $399 with 50 dollar mail in rebate. I want to do 2 way SLI which means i could get 2 980ti's for the price of one 1080 and God knows how many for the price of a Titan P. I'm going to go to 3 1080p or 3 1440 monitors depending on if my GPU can run them . Should I go ahead and get the 980ti's or hold out for the Titan P? Any input is appreciated. Thanks
  5. Does that mean i don't want a f/2.8 lense? I just want to take pictures of my brother and sister while they play sports (gymnastics and baseball) I don't want a lense that will make them look out of focus if I don't get the focus right since I'm still learning.
  6. I'm not sure I understand. I've read that it's a good lense for sports cause it has a big aperture and that's helpful for nighttime/indoor sports.
  7. I plan on getting the Nikkor 200-500mm f/5.6 for wildlife and a 70-200mm f/2.8 for sports plus a mid range lense for everyday shots.
  8. Would you recommend me buying only FX lenses to "future proof" my lense collection?
  9. I have a nikon D5300 with the kit lenses 18-55mm and 55-300mm. I want to buy some new lenses but I also want to be able to use them on a future camera like the D500 or whatever is similar to it at the time I buy it. I've read several articles on the DX or FX formats but can't understand it for the life of me. I don't understand the difference between full frame and crop. How can one lense (DX) make something look "smaller" while another makes it look "normal" (FX)? If I buy a FX lense will it work on a DX camera and vice versa? Dumb this down as much as possible please Thanks
  10. That's what I thought too but it's just so hard to think about.
  11. I forget the name of the laptop but it lasted about a year maybe year and half and the screen completely died. I had to use an external monitor till I could get a new laptop. Over heated too. I've gone through or tried to use at least 3 or 4 printers which made me want to jump off the roof cause you can't connect to them no matter what you do. The epson I had for a little bit (it somehow disappeared during a move) worked flawlessly.
  12. I'm looking for a laptop that is: -thin -long battery life -track pad with clickable buttons -i7 and maybe discrete graphics (not a huge deal) -14 inch is preferable but 15.6 will do if necessary -Budget up to $1500 U.S I'm considering the Dell XPS 15 but not fully sold. I hate HP (every product I've bought from them has broken) so they're out. Lenovo worries me a little because of SuperFish even though they say it's gone. I also read an article saying spy agencies won't let their employees use Lenovos for fear of hacked hardware. I'm by no means a high end official but I enjoy my privacy. I know this list might be near impossible or even impossible to fulfill but hopefully you guys can help me out some. I appreciate any input.
  13. How would I go about importing the pictures to the GoPro editor?
  14. I have no idea what software to use. I have the GoPro software that I use for my GoPro but that's my only camera software currently and I don't think that works with my DSLR.
  15. I took a time lapse with my DSLR and now have a folder of 240 pictures that I don't know how to turn it into a time lapse I can actually watch. What software do I need to download in order to make the time lapse? My camera is a Nikon D5300 if that matters. Thanks
  16. Didn't notice that; my mistake. I don't think you would notice a huge difference but I agree faster is better when it comes to SSDs. The specs on the Kingston drive are similar to the ADATA drive so I think it just comes down to which company is more trustworthy/reliable.
  17. You can never have to much storage especially SSD storage but I understand where you're coming from in buying something you don't need. Out of the four you listed I would go with the Intel.
  18. Maybe OP didn't know about it. Why tell him to buy something from a list when there's a better product out there that he didn't list?
  19. Samsung 850 EVO 250GB (around $85) would be my choice. I have the the 840 and works great. Plus, Samsung makes every part of the SSD unlike most companies.
  20. HA you're funny. Whether you're a piece of crap that kills people or other horrible things you still have the same rights as law abiding citizens. That's what makes America great.
  21. I'm well aware of what they do but that's why we must fight for our rights. We need to get back to actually following the Constitution and stop over reaching into the lives of our citizens.
  22. Anything i do on my phone/PC. The government and anyone for that matter has no right to look at my personal info without my consent. If a FBI agent followed you everywhere you went and watched everything you did would you care? Most people wouldn't like that but that's what they do when they illegally go through our digital life.
  23. A New York judge says the U.S. Justice Department cannot force Apple to provide the FBI with access to locked iPhone data in a routine Brooklyn drug case. U.S. Magistrate Judge James Orenstein ruled Monday. The decision follows a California magistrate judge's order requiring Apple to create software to help the U.S. hack the iPhone of a shooter in the Dec. 2 killing of 14 people in San Bernardino, California. In October, Orenstein invited Apple to challenge the government's use of a 1789 law to compel Apple to help it recover iPhone data in criminal cases. Since then, lawyers say Apple has opposed the requests to help extract information from over a dozen iPhones in California, Illinois, Massachusetts and New York. http://www.cnbc.com/2016/02/29/ny-judge-us-cannot-make-apple-provide-iphone-data.html A US magistrate judge in New York has ruled that the government can't force Apple to help law enforcement unlock an iPhone using the All Writs Act. This case in question is about drug trafficking and is not related to the San Bernardino shooter case. While the cases are different, it's a win for Apple in its battle with the FBI and Department of Justice. An Apple senior executive told Engadget that while it's a important precedent, it's not a binding precedent that magistrate Judge Pym in the San Bernardino case is legally bound to to follow. In his order magistrate Judge James Orenstein states: "More specifically, the established rules for interpreting a statute's text constrain me to reject the government's interpretation that the AWA empowers a court to grant any relief not outright prohibited by law." Apple has earlier prodded Judge Orenstein to rule on the feds wanting Apple to help it unlock the phone of Jun Feng who was suspected of conspiracy to traffic methamphetamine. During a search, DEA agents seized an iPhone 5s belonging to Feng. The government then initiated the execution of a search warrant for the contents of the phone which has a passcode. Apple then submitted an opposition to the order and after additional filings and oral arguments, we're here. Another case with a locked iPhone that the government want's Apple to help unlock and the company rejecting that order. Only in this case, a judge has ruled in its favor. In the brief the judge concludes that this is a constitutional and congress issue. If the government wants to use All Writs or CALEA to force companies to circumvent encryption, there needs to a clear law granting it that power. Apple and Department of Justice will argue their cases in front of Judge Pym on March 22. http://www.engadget.com/2016/02/29/ny-judge-rules-feds-cant-force-apple-to-unlock-an-iphone/ I'm super happy that this judge is on the side of privacy. This will defiantly help Apple in their fight on the San Bernardino case. I wasn't a huge Apple fan before but as this is all going down they are growing on me and they are making me contemplate leaving android. Privacy advocates rejoice!
  24. I mostly shoot my siblings sports (gymnastics, soccer, and baseball) and I think my current lens is holding me back from getting the best photos possible. I have a Nikon D5300 and my main sports lens is a Nikon SF-S NIKKOR 55-300mm 1:4.5-5.6. From what I've read (new to photography) I need a low aperture and fast shutter speed (could be wrong). I'm just looking right now but hope to buy in the next few months. $2000 would probably be my max budget. Thanks for any info.
