  1. You will see no improvement in temps with an undervolt at idle. Those temps seem about the same as my 9750. There is a 0RPM "feature" when at low usage which brings the idle temp up.
  2. Well depending on how long the previous owner had it for is how heavily it was used. Though it is still in the early stages of its life. The following article gives you an idea of ssd TBW before failure. https://techreport.com/review/27909/the-ssd-endurance-experiment-theyre-all-dead/2
  3. It is unlikely but could you give some more details. What monitor, PC specs and what have you tried so far. Also does it work in the BIOS
  4. if you read further down As for non-Apple NVMe drives, (Samsung), to this date the tests I have done are: Mac Pro late 2013 : doesn't work MacBook Air early 2014 : doesn't work MacBook Air early 2015 : works MacBook Pro 15" early 2015 : doesn't work So there seems to be some inconsistencies in that post. I agree with @hey_yo_ that support was only added from skylake but with apple who know. On closer inspection, the connector the ssd uses is not msata hence the need for the adapters so without going for the official ssds, these (https://www.transcend-info.com/Products/Solution_detail.aspx?no=8) or the OWC Aura EDIT: On further research, there are mentions of apple using a proprietary storage controller(but I cannot confirm) this would mean normal ssds will not work. I would suggest getting one of the compatible sdds listed above there are others if you search
  5. Well, l think there may be an issue with screwing it down. Is this what you have?
  6. It seems like it will not work https://www.ifixit.com/Answers/View/293421/MBP+early+2015+SSD+can+upgrade+with+Samsung+950+pro Judging by that even with the adapter it will not work as that model does not support the NVMe protocol. You need to get a msata drive like https://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&IsNodeId=1&N=100011693 600095832
  7. The CPU and GPU make the biggest difference in gaming performance but once the CPU becomes powerful enough only the GPU will increase gaming performance
  8. How much money do you have to spend (and what currency) might be more useful
  9. build outside the case with just motherboard and 1 sick of RAM. If it works add stuff till it doent
  10. https://www.amazon.com/Allytech-Wireless-Network-Ethernet-Converter/dp/B00SMLYKI2/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1509100350&sr=8-2&keywords=pcie+to+mini+pcie+adapter You need this
  11. is it built in a case and how old is the build? Refer to @NelizMastr that would have been where my answer was going
  12. They are the ones i'd recommend if you had over $300. I've heard good things about the Shure srh840's but cannot make any personal judgements. Pop into the Listening Post in Christchurch. There's one where i am and the had over 20 pairs there to try out
  13. Computer Lounge has one of the best selection of headphones in New Zealand. https://www.computerlounge.co.nz/audio/componentlist.asp?Page=7&parttypeid=0&t=1&fltr=high&b= From what you describe the mx50's would suit. I know it is the go-to but they are that good. If you do want something a bit more stylish the urbanites would be good. If you live in Auckland its worth heading into their store and trying some out. If you are elsewhere in the country finding a place to try headphones can be an issues (other than wellington)
  14. PB Tech, Computer Lounge and Play Tech all built solid systems and have good after sales support from what I have heard(I haven't got systems from these places just parts) Specifically, what do you what from the computer and how much do you want to spend. I might be able to recommend something There are places in NZ for prebuilt PC's Some people just want the peace of mind of it being built by a professional company
  15. I'd say it would depend on how well you look after things. If you can then go for it else go for the cheaper ones as if you break it, it won't matter as much
  16. I would suggest waiting for the release of vega which should be really soon. You should get better price to performance once they are out and nvidia has reacted or get vega if they are better,
  17. I would almost make an SSD necessary for a build costing this much. Also, you need one of these to mount the h100i v2 http://playtech.co.nz/afawcs0139235/CATID=1451/ID=30094/SID=176049222/productdetails.html
  18. for the usb issue this: https://www.nzxt.com/products/internal-usb-hub for the other issue some photos would be good.
  19. If your temperatures are fine there is no point moving them. If you were to move the side fan I would personally put it at the bottom (as long as your PSU isn't huge)
  20. ahh. Yes, the for future use code the most helpful code ever. You need to get in contact with ASUS
  21. Make sure all the connectors are fully inserted. I had an issue with a friends computer with similar issues that turned out to be a connector that wasn't completely in
  22. are you able to try it externally with a usb adapter like this https://www.startech.com/HDD/Adapters/USB-3-to-SATA-or-IDE-Hard-Drive-Adapter-Converter~USB3SSATAIDE
