  1. as you may know mining really isn't all that profitable anymore so there will be less people building rigs and the ones who do will have to sell them in the near future mining with 6x gtx 1070 makes $7.50 a day (excluding electricity costs) This means it would take 533 days to reach ROI if the cost was 4000$
  2. pc a new pc where a long graphics card actually fits inside the case on the x299 platform or what comes after that. With only SSD storage if possible display another 1440p 32 inch ips display but with high refresh rate peripherals maybe another mouse mat or a wireless xbox controller network i'm fine with what i currently have other a new laptop (my laptop is from 2012, i5 3210m and gt 630m)
  3. Look what i've got... A gtx 1070 and a riser so i can see the difference myself on my own system. Unfortunately it's not my card but i can get it if i want to I have installed the graphic card (it’s next to my pc using the riser cable because it was too long to fit in my case) and it worked for some time and i installed the newest driver using nvidia’s geforce experience program but after about 20 minutes (i started a game to see if it worked) my screen went black and the pc restarted itself. I didn’t think it was a problem at first because it was the first time booting with the new card but the problem persisted. At first i thought it was a power usage related issue but one time it even crashed when i started up chrome right after booting and as far as i know that isn’t GPU-intensive. So my question is wether you know a solution because you (@SamuraiXV1) have also swapped a 970 with a 1070 and maybe ran into similar issues. extra info: my 970 is also still in my computer but i have disconnected the pciE power cables.
  4. I think i will wait for the ampere cards to launch or get a 1070 as cpu load never really hits 100% (when gaming)
  5. would it make a big difference getting an i5 8600k instead of an i7 3930k? Because i can get one or maybe even 2 gtx 1070's if i want to (used) but i don't want to get a cpu that can't handle it because it would basically be useless to get the video card(s) and therefor a wast of money
  6. thank you. Do you know of your CPU is a bottleneck when running some of the tests on the 1070 because the numbers on skylines are almost the same and the difference on ark isn't that much either edit: ark is just not really high but difference is there.
  7. You should be able to reuse the power supply and the storage. You can maybe get an i7 4790k with mobo and 16g for not too much (£400 max) if you look on ebay or another site selling used hardware. For graphics you should wait untill after the ampere launch from nvidia because older cards like the 1060 will get cheaper (i hope/think) Also the oculus is cheaper than the vive.
  8. Do you have any results yet or can you tell me when you have them?
  9. Will deicde between those two then they are both around 70-80 euros and the AIO looks cleaner but i’ll see
  10. I would like to get the nzxt s340 elite case soon because it looks nice and is pretty good as far as i know. So does the noctua nh d15 fit in there or would it be better to go for a cheap AIO, i just don’t know which ones are reliable besides the corsair ones and nzxt kraken but those are expansive
  11. Thanks you i’ll watch the video now and i’ll get back if i’ve got another question. Actually i already got one What CPU cooler do you recommend? I was thinking about the dark rock pro 3 from be quiet.
  12. I think i will get the i7 3930k because of its low price (i can get one not too far from where i live for just €80) whereas the xeon you’re suggesting may be better but just isn’t available in my region and on ebay it’s like €400 ($500). And if i’m right it’s more worth it getting a new chip at that kind of pricepoint. I also don’t have an enormous budget so getting the i7 would be a very cost-effective option from what i’ve read about it here. If anyone who knows something about overclocking could teach me some of the basics it would also be very helpfull. I’ll have to upgrade my cooler too though (it’s just an intel one but not a standard in-box cooler).
  13. accepted your invite. Thanks for helping already cities skylines bench would also be great if you've got the time
  14. Would be really helpful if you could test at 1440p with 970 and 1070 cards. What CPU will you be using? If you could test assassins creed IV black flag, or origins, csgo, ARK survival evolved it would already help alot. If you want to see my steam library tell me your steam name and add me (samoTh137)
