Just do what I did. Have a friend whose work was getting rid of a server and take it. 16TB (8x2TB) SAS drives, Xeon E5405, 32GB DDR2 RAM. Pretty good for free.

Plex doesn't really do sharing, it does streaming, whether it be through one of their apps, a web browser, or DLNA. If you're going to share files over a local network, an SMB share will do just fine. If you want remote access, set up an FTP server and port forward through your gateway. Or something like OwnCloud would work as well.

if you have a desktop or laptop you can use for consuming and use google chrome, you can install the plex app for chrome and it's free. Alternatively, you can access the server via your web browser and stream for free, either with plex.tv (if you have remote access enabled) or over your local network by going to plex-server:32400/web

Native .iso mounting, SecureBoot, Artificial desktops via Taskview, just to name a few things that 10 can do that 7 can't.

Also, subjectively better task manager. And faster boot times, less OS footprint.

I like Rufus for making live usb's. Also, get a fresh ISO and verify it after you download it to make sure you've got all the bits (you know, don't want to make a usb with a broken file). HashTab on Windows works great.

I'm making the assumption that you're setting up the USB from windows.

r3bify got a reaction from TeamTactical in Apple now rejecting apps that mention other platforms
    Source: getpebble.com

Apple is now rejecting app submissions to their App Store that contain references to other platforms in the description and/or metadata.
The following quote is from Steve's post on the GetPebble forums

I have bolded the important parts. Basically, if you want to have an app on the App Store, you can't reference any other platforms in your apps description, metadata, or even marketing material. How are people supposed to know what platforms you support unless you tell them?

I could understand if it was a choice that Apple made based on choosing to explicitly not support their platform, however this rejection, ironically, was served when the developer attempted to add Apple Watch support to their app.
    Steve again, from the comments:

Simply put: you can't. You can access the drive space if it's configured correctly, but you can't access a system that isn't running.

If you want to have a bit of fun, try XenClient, you can run your linux and windows systems concurrently and accomplish what you want. But in a dual boot situation, you can't ssh into the linux client from the windows client, since the linux client won't be running when you're using windows.

If I understand correctly what you want, you are using the second partition on the dell as a network drive? Just share like, like you would any folder. I recommend setting up specific user rights in the advanced settings. Set "Everyone" to read only, and then make a user and give it read/write or full control over it, and then when you map the network drive, connect as that user.

It actually works almost the same way in linux, if you choose to go that way you just edit the smb.conf file with whatever you want the details of your share to be and then restart the service. Easy peasy.

As an accent to this, unless you are paying for a static IP from your ISP, you *may* occasionally have your public IP address changed. To combat this, I'd recommend using a free Dynamic DNS service.

Some routers can do this natively, but have limited options, and I'm going to go out on a limb and say you aren't running custom router firmware that might give you a few more options.

Go to https://duckdns.org/install.jsp and click "windows-gui" and follow the instructions. Then you can give your friends a URL instead of an IP. It doesn't help anything except that you don't have to ask them to change the IP address of the server if it ever changes.
I use DuckDNS on my linux media server, it works flawlessly and it's free.

WPS is used as an alternative to typing in a password when you connect to your wireless network. I would turn it off though, as it presents a potential security hole.

I'm just going to assume global, I've put together a sample project to lend you a hand. It uses "magic numbers," I assume that you'll be able to modify on your own if you'd like to change that.
I implemented it using a timer, since I think that is a better option than sleeping the thread.

So, I decided to examine my traffic logs earlier, and boy did I notice something strange. Can anyone think of any reason that SkyFonts needs to browse pornhub?

I'm going to send them an email about it once I get Outlook working (it stalled during setup and now tries to connect to a non-existent mailbox on startup, so it never loads.)

Edit: It's been brought to my attention that I can't read. I even showed someone else the screenshot and they also read pornhub. So, my bad I guess. Cloud scaling is cool too I suppose.

So, this is my MSI GS 70. As you can see, I have a broken fan. It's stupid loud all the time, and it gets worse when it decides to start making grinding noises. It's lovely. It's also my main machine, as my other laptop is.. not fit for travel.

Any chance someone knows where to pick up a replacement fan? I saw one on ebay but it was way too steep a price for me.
The only time I really notice the sound is when I'm in class and everyone stares at me.
