using a mx cherry switch as a on off switch
Gamin Guage replied to Gamin Guage's topic in Cases and Mods
i thought so but figured it would be better to make sure of these things before commiting to it -
so wall mounting a computer and i am trying to decide how to do the on off switch can i just cut off the power switch from an old case, tie it onto the 2 prongs of an mx cherry switch, mount the switch to something and call it a day? or is it more complicated then that

So my friend asked me to build him a computer with a budget of 1600 for components (then a 500 budget for desk chair headphones) i told him now is not a good time to buy grafics cards they are way overpriced. he then proceeded to literally slap me with an envelop with 1600 dollers in it i proceeded to get as many of the parts used as i could (monitor case cooler ram drives) which i got an excellent deal on im personally not willing to gamble with the other parts used got all the parts went to his house proceeded to spend about 45 minutes putting the pc together and 4 hours cable managing his setup i did it all with a drill zip ties some foam pads(for the bottom of furniture) i used the foam pads so i could make a hole under the monitor stand and route the monitor cables through there i then used a drill to make holes to route zip ties through and separated the cords into peripherals(mouse keyboard and usb hub) monitors (hdmi and power) and pc power everything plugs into the power bar and that leads to the outlet on the wall the guy who paid for the computer is the one taking the pictures (he is just such a good photographer jk) in the end i asked for 20$ and pizza he gave me 150$ pizza and a hug...i am ok with this https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/cPFKHh

mounting a hard drive to a wall question
Gamin Guage replied to Gamin Guage's topic in Cases and Mods
thanks that's a great idea! -
so first question: can i use mounting adhesive to simply stick a HDD to a wall or will it vibrate to much? or would i be better off using one of these under it to relieve the force on the adhesive? or is there another really cheap option to mount it?
