  1. My only intention was to unite support around HWUB to send a message to Nvidia that this kind of media censorship will not be tolerated by the people who consume it. And as for the donations request/subscribe request, it was only to show that the community is still there for him and his team. All I'm trying to do is show support to the creators and to help Nvidia see the error in there ways. Was just wanting this post to get a bit of attention so people could see whats going on in the industry.
  2. Hardware Unboxed - Send the Love If you haven't heard yet, Nvidia has taken action against Hardware Unboxed with regards to the way they have been reviewing the new RTX 3000 Series cards. So myself and a small group of enthusiasts have taken it upon ourselves to help boost the channel in anyway we can. We have donated some money to the channel and subscribed (turns out he does do some decent content, I liked the 6800XT LN2 cooled video) and have been spreading the word far and wide but we need your help. I bring this to the forum in the hopes that the collective masses can help Nvidia see that they have made a catastrophic error in judement. Even if you don't have the money to support a donation to his channel or you rather not subscribe to another youtuber, that is fine, just do want you feel you can, even if it is just a like on a video,( It doesn't need to be any of Hardware Unboxed videos it could be one that has covered this story). This will hopefully show Nvidia how much backlash there has been in the community to their actions and stop this (let's be honest) censorship from happening to our media that we have a passion for watching. Personally I don't go on forums, post content or anything like this really, but after what has transpired I felt I had to do something. If anyone could ask an administrator if it would be OK to have this post pinned for a shortwhile, that would be great. Peace out
  3. Best option would be to do a fresh install of windows. but looking at what you have written, it might be the m.2 drive being faulty but i doubt it. Its a weird one considering you have changed everything apart from the drive.
  4. Just thought I'd start a thread to help everyone show how far they are travelling to get to LTX this year. I am going to leave my submission until closer to the time as I fear I will beat everyone here.
  5. I've just had a quick look and using Norton is definitely not a choice I want to use for various reasons. Excluding this it appears yoy can no longer buy or download the software anywhere
  6. I am looking for some help with regards to migrating my OS and files from one M.2 SSD to another I currently have a 120GB Sata M.2 and im planning to upgrade to 520GB NVMe drive but i currently only have 1 slot on my motherboard and I cant figure where to start with this and its starting to fry my head a bit Any input is greatly appricated in advance Also is there much difference between NVMe and Sata ? I know NVMe is faster but is it really worth it?
  7. Surely the price would come down then, I'm going to make a few phone calls to some shops around me tomorrow. Just in case the RMA process falls through
  8. But also, does it not stink that the demand for gpu's have went down but the price has yet to return to normal? Is this due to the rumour mill spitting out the possibility of new cards and nvidia just want to keep the prices up on they're overstock and backlog or are they just being dicks
  9. Just looking this up just now, fingers crossed So for the EU the rma process is as follows: For the first year - return to seller For the second and third year - contact the service centre for rma details , repair or replacement Good news
  10. A 1070 ti is going to cost me around £470 plus delivery which is out of my price range at the moment. My budget is £200 - £250 max
  11. I work full time but have been renovating a full house at the same time, which costs ALOT of money.
  12. It's a gigabyte 1080ti Haven't thought of the rma process purely for the fact it's second hand It was bellowing out blue smoke then no display and then fans stopped and it's sat that way ever since - I will try what you say and update shortly
  13. Troubleshoot blue smoke ? I think it's fecked in all honestly
  14. I got the 1080ti purely to future proof if I ever decided to eventually go down the 4k route. I've been looking at the 1050ti as it's more in my price range but your comment on the 1060 has swayed me I think
  15. Right this might seem a bit long winded but bear with me, I started planning my rig over 2 years ago and eventually finished it quite recently in janurary except for one crucial component, the graphics card. I originally spec'd a gtx 1080 as all I'm gaming on is HD - No 4k for me, but I have been waiting over 2 years for the prices of GPU's to come back to normal to no avail. Which led me to buy a second hand 1080ti - bad idea - I was told it was an ex mining card but it still functioned perfectly, 2 days into running and I've got blue smoke coming out of it playing SIMCITY. So I ask you, the great community, what should I do now, my budget is completely shot and all I want to do is game in HD on my completed build but not wanting to pay a fortune for the graphics card. Please send help
  16. Im looking for people to play PUBG with online for the XBOX One, Feel free to hit me up
  17. Guys update from apple US Heres a link to the video on Youtube https://youtu.be/dQw4w9WgXcQ
  18. Guys i have just done the same to my imac pro here in scotland (to be fair it wasnt deliberate, i just dropped the feckin thing moving it to another desk). Problem is that it belongs to my work to allow me to work from home. When i told them about it i offered to get get it fixed at the apple store myself and pay for the repair. When i booked in an appointment etc i got the same run around from the apple store in glasgow. They said the repair has been actively refused. So i told my work who then decided to contact their apple buissness partner (whoever that is) and they said that they would take it off our hands and get it repaired. So two weeks pass with no communications and then the imac pro turns up at my front door, unrepaired and no documentation other than a delivery note. My Company then contacted apple through their buisness account and still no reply and no update, it is now 3 weeks later and still nothing and we now have 5 iMac pro units awaiting repair (various faults on them ranging from failed boot device to not powering on) on top of this, we have 4 iphone X's outstanding for repair (we have sent them away but not had them back). Just so you know the company i work for can easily spend £250,000 to £750,000 in one transaction with apple and this is the service we are getting. We have just cancelled a £120,000 order and gave it to someone else as a direct result of this Our directors have started looking elsewhere for a more permanent option so we dont have to use apple products and run into this problem again. It seems like there is major deficiencies behind the scenes at apple
  19. Guys, I have just had this exact problem on my system. When I got my Asus Strix B350-F board I didn't bother updating the Bios and just left it. Tonight I updated to the latest and my CPU got stuck on 1.36Ghz I went through everything and the only thing to resolves this was to reset the config through the UEFI to defaults then boot into windows and that had sorted it. SO so so frustrating to solve but now I am able to hold my overclock without it sitting at 1.36GHz
  20. it depends on how much of the resources and for how long the card is being utilised etc etc just from my experience with my two 1060's i was getting random issues popping up all over the place on one card but on the second card it would run perfectly fine until the GPU was asked to do something demanding. (the machines were getting used to decode 4K CCTV footage for facial recognition software). The second machine would run fine for days then once a particularly demanding 'scene' was introduced it crashed. I would RMA just to be on the safe side, especially if you have paid out your own money for the card and you cant even furmark, becuase if there is an issue with the card it can creep up once the warranty has ran out (as they often do).
  21. RMA RMA RMA Its a faulty card, I had this on 2 1060's at work on separate machines a couple of months back (i wanted to stress test them before deployment although its not a requirement), once they were RMA I got some feedback stating there was an issue on assembly with regards to the ball point solders after being the cards have warmed up Dont know if that helps you at all but defo's RMA
  22. I got this when my USB mic and DAC drivers started playing up. I subsequently bought a new Mic and dAC and this didnt appear again.
  23. Hi peeps, I'm building my personal PC for my home and my general aim for this machine is a Home Media Server, music workstation and some slight gaming (I'm a console gamer by heart and can never get used to a K/B and Mouse). I'm not a complete idiot and do know a lot. (At least I hope) My budget was approx. £600 (I'm in Scotland) and here's a list of all my components I've selected. If anyone has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it. I do intend to do some overclocking on it but not extreme (more experimental) and this project is more aimed at being a platform to move forward with. AMD Ryzen 1500X ASUS ROG Strix B350-F Coolermaster Masterliquid 240 WE GREEN M.2 2280 120GB SAD 1x 4gb of Cruicial DDR 4 2400 Ram Cooler master masterbox lite 5 2 x Asus VP228HE 22 inch monitors (I know they are only TN panels but this doesn't bother me) Corsair VS650 power supply UK Model I'm planning to run Windows 10 I already have 4 x 4TB HDD's and a very very basic graphics card that I'm just going to drop in the rig to give me some graphics as a temp measure until I buy a proper graphics card along with a KB and Mouse I feel I've done enough research to know that this should be good setup to upgrade down the line with additional ram etc Thanks again
