Aaron_Blue01 reacted to The Sloth in Best laptop under $400
Good but Acer is known for making cheap computers that doesn't last long. How about a Chromebook? Asus Vivobook S15 looks good

Aaron_Blue01 reacted to RejZoR in Sony Now Internally Regulates Sexual Content in Video Games
This puritan stupidity is reaching absurd levels.
a) This is something PARENTS should be regulating, not bloody corporations or governments
b) Since when is sex, a thing that CREATES lives, less acceptable than fuck ton of games with killing (a thing that TAKES lives!)?
Wtf is wrong with our god damn retarded society? Is this the 1600's again or some shit? It seems like we've gone from puritanism into open and progressive society in the 90's and early 2000's and now we're regressing into puritanism again. Fuck me.

Aaron_Blue01 reacted to BLCT in Glass-backed phone question
What kind of case are they getting? try getting something that's reputable, and known to protect. Otterbox, survivor cases, etc etc. If they can protect an iphone x (all glass phone) then it can protect yours no problem.

Aaron_Blue01 reacted to kokakolia in Android phone under $240-ish
I know it’s an outdated phone, but the LG G6 seems promising. A refurbished G6 can be bought for a measly $150 in some places.

Asus Zenfone Max Pro (M1)
There is also a second version, with a notched display and Snapdragon 660 which is a tad better for gaming, called Zenfone Max Pro (M2)
Both models have the same 5,000mAh battery and they come with Micro USB charger.
There are also some other devices such as:
Lenovo Z5s (SD 710)
Lenovo K5 Pro (SD 636)
(Both have type - C)
If you want more info about them, I'm going to put the links below from gsmarena, where you can check more info about these devices:

Aaron_Blue01 reacted to XR6 in Which one is better?
I've owned JVC earbuds before (probably worth about the same as the ones you linked) and they've been quite good. I've never owned jlab so I wouldn't know.

Aaron_Blue01 reacted to kokakolia in Earbuds suggestions
I have something that will absolutely trump the two suggestions above:
- KZ ES4
It’s Chinese brand that’s legendary (overrated really) for making cheap earphones that sound good. Well, most of them sound dreadful with piercing highs. But KZ finally nailed it with the ES4. The highs aren’t murderous on these ones. Therefore they are pretty darn good.

Aaron_Blue01 reacted to Canada EH in My cheap earbuds are having an issue...
Buy from The Source (Old Radio Shack) and you can replace them for free for the first year, unlimited, I have replaced mine 4 times now. After the first year you have 2 replacements, mine is up in Feb so I plan to replace them no matter what at the end of Jan. You walk in, they have you on file, you hand them your bad ear phones, they walk over and grab the same model, they hand it over and you walk out. I bought the cheap house brand Nexxtech. I used to buy the cheap ones at Winners. 3 or 4 a year at $8. Not no more, only The Source old Radio Shack for now on.
They are cheap ear phones, if they lasted a year you are doing well. Cheap ear phones dont last, they design them that way on purpose.

Aaron_Blue01 got a reaction from Canada EH in My cheap earbuds are having an issue...
I didn't expect much out of my earbuds when I got them during the summer but they had seemed to have held up pretty well. However, this apparently wasn't the case because a few days ago the left side started sounding funny. Not only that but people can now hear what's coming out of them easily as if the sound is going outward, away from my ears, instead of inward, into my ears. Is it possible for them to just stop isolating noise and increase the amount of sound that goes out instead of in? The left side sounds so bad that I thought my ear was clogged. It's almost like the earbuds are inside my ears, playing sound in an outward direction. Is this just because they are broken or is there something I'm missing here?
Alsl, I thought I should add that these aren't expensive earbuds. They were like $9 Panasonic earbuds. I would just like to find out what happened to them.

I would get something like this, or 4 gb. easy to find.
Not sure why it has 32 bit windows installed, but you should make a windows install disk and put 64 bit on there instead. easy and free.

Aaron_Blue01 reacted to Wh0_Am_1 in Decide between refurbished computers pls
Ok, do note he will certainly want more than 1GB of RAM, so that should be factored into the prices.
-
Aaron_Blue01 reacted to Fasauceome in Decide between refurbished computers pls
The socket supports more consumer CPUs (from what I can tell) and small form factor is pretty useful for desk real estate. Both have quad core CPUs so there won't be much performance difference.
-
Aaron_Blue01 reacted to Snipergod87 in Decide between refurbished computers pls
Second one has better processor, is a full sized case if you want to upgrade GPU in the future, and 8x the RAM. Much better value. if you wanted to get the first one to those specs it would cost much more than the ~30 price difference.

Aaron_Blue01 reacted to Streetguru in Decent laptop for around $300
Buy a used thinkpad with at least an i7 2000 series or better and just replace the battery, probably buying an SSD eventually.

Used/refurbished elitebook 8470p.
Look around on ebay for better configurations, but this seems to be a good start.

My first build was $850
Pentium 3 733mhz
256mb ram
40gb maxtor HDD
PC's were way too much overpriced back then...
But my cheapest "gaming" PC would be around $400-500....
Core2quad q8400
4gb ram
Radeon 5870

Aaron_Blue01 reacted to Streetguru in What do you think of this?
It's probably just a stock photo of an OEM product someone bought in bulk from china, like a lot of the controllers you can find in a search.

Interesting that they have an Iphone X on it and advertise as an Android controller.
