  1. if you cant log in by using 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 or even 192.168.100.1, yes, return it, it is not working properly i think
  2. you know that i mentioned a "modem" like those that comes with wifi and 4 ethernet ports, that is why i mentioned router and then "modem"
  3. apart from the router, if you have a modem, it also can come with a enabled firewall, so usually one is behind 3 firewalls
  4. floppy? wait, you cant even connect a floppy drive on a motherboard anymore you have to buy one via usb if you really need all that hardware operative i would just build a pc with those parts, add a old motherboard with a psu and hide under the desk the way you say, just put it on a network and share those resources, nothing more will have space for floppy and for 5.25" bays
  5. the first and oldest tool i remember, see what ports are open https://www.grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2
  6. is just spanish dont panic, google translate can help you there
  7. well, those are old cards, i was talking about new hardware, that i understood you bought, but you are right at what channel are you using the 5ghz signal? try 112
  8. hola y bienvenido si la temperatura se dispara y usted esta seguro que instalo bien el bloque sobre el procesador, es posible wue la bomba no este moviendo agua puede escuchar la bomba de agua haciendo algun ruido?
  9. antistatic wriststraps have a use, properly used and installed, for example in a electronics laboratory, where is mandatory to have them all the time but on those places you handle lots of components, solder stuff, disasemble and reassemble parts that are not protected against esd in your house, if you dont know if proper grounding exist, if the case is all painted, personally i dont use them for peace of mind, you should use them, you should do what is right, if you know what is right, and how to use them, of course to assemble or disassemble a pc, i dont personally know anyone using them when not working inside a company demanding its use remember that one thing is have laws, regulations other thong is see those laws and regulations be applied strictly
  10. well, not just a usb extension, it has a controller that converts sata into usb one like this one should cover your external dvd needs https://www.amazon.com/Vantec-NST-536S3-BK-NexStar-External-Enclosure/dp/B01MRUN0HQ/ref=mp_s_a_1_6?keywords=external+5.25"+enclosure&qid=1565111574&s=gateway&sr=8-6 but of you need all that, why did you bought a case that doesnt have those bays? to be honest, i bought in 2008 a external dvd burner, i use it perhaps 1 time per year, optical drives on pc are basically a thing of the past, if you really need one, consider buying one like this one https://www.amazon.com/LG-Electronics-Portable-External-GP65NB60/dp/B00ODDE33U/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?keywords=external+dvd+burner&qid=1565111406&s=gateway&sprefix=external+dv&sr=8-3 for your hot swappable hard disk needs, consider getting a nas instead
  11. mac is good if your projects force you to use a program only present on mac, what program do you need that only exist on a mac?
  12. a antistatic wriststrap requires to be connected to a proper grounding terminal, if you dont know if the house has proper grounding, you are not doing anything apart from taking a risk, a electric discharge the clip and the psu, if the psu is painted, or the screws, you are not grounded, the paint isolates the electricity, most psus these days come painted in black, same for the screws some people connect the clip directly onto a power outlet, but if you dont know which one of the holes is ground or if is properly grounded, well, you will not have a good day surely the wriststrap is meant to be used on certain situations where components are very delicate, but a motherboard, cpu or ram are not delicate anymore, the human body is alot more delicate and you should think on your own security first use shoes, dont touch metallic contacts on the motherboard, ram or cpu, you will be fine, if i never had a electrostatic discharge in 20+ years working with pcs under so many circumstances, is extremely unlikely you will be capable of generate a discharge big enough to damage a component my last pc, the one i built 3 weeks ago, i wasnt even using shoes! i should have killed all the parts! no, all is well, even under dangerous conditions for you, and perhaps for the parts, nothing happened about the idea of touch your case to drain any esd, is the same if is painted, you drained nothing into nowhere basically
  13. windows 10 will let you install any version you wish, the installation after a couple minutes will disable customization of colors, themes, and similar stuff, also will put a watermark on the lower corner on the right saying that you dont have a license, you must buy one but you can use it like that for years, i have apart from that, you can use it and install whatever you want in it if you find the coa sticker on the pc, you can use it as license key for that windows 10, but remember that if is windows 7 home, you need to install win 10 home, if it is win 7 professional, install win10 professional
  14. all that is correct, but you dont know what the company doing the installation uses as i mentioned, it doesnt have to be all copper to be good, the copper coating is good enough in reality if the copper theft is a problem where you live, surely you will not get pure copper if copper theft is not a problem, probably the installation will last alot so the company can afford more expensive wiring to keep people happy for longer
  15. that is what you know, or believe to know, but your apartment is not the same of any other apartment in the rest of the planet, remember that a forum is visited by people around the world, and not every country has strict regulations about grounding, wirings, security in general, so one should take that onto consideration
  16. if the house is not properly grounded and you do it without shoes all you will get from that is a discharge or worse better not try weird ideas like walk half of the house to discharge, walk back to where you have the pc and in the process recover all the esd you could have discharged in the first place
  17. i personally dont like sshd idea, is still a small ssd with a hard disk integrated, is a hassle and since it is a laptop, a ssd only situation doe benefit it in terms of weight, power consumption affecting battery and durability, hard disks do get damaged on a laptop, the movement, toss them around do damage those hard disks
  18. there are hdmi wireless transmitter and receivers, for example this one https://www.amazon.com/Diamond-Multimedia-Wireless-Extender-Transmitter/dp/B07L9723ZF/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?keywords=wireless+hdmi&qid=1565100757&s=gateway&sr=8-3 i think there are also dvi, displayport and vga versions, but all i know is that hdmi is the most common and easy to use, but results are mixed, signal drops, image quality drops, alot of thongs can happen
  19. if it has windows 7 the license key must come in the coa sticker somewhere on the case if you cant find that coa sticker with the 25 letters key, you dont have windows 7 license, all you have is your hardware and nothing more you can install windows 10 and buy a license later
  20. asap? time here doesnt matter, electricity, electric components and water already met, if a damage was going to happen, already happened, time to fix really doesnt matter at all here luck is all he needs, luck to see if parts didnt got damaged and if after water is removed, all comes back to normal, which sadly is not much likely
  21. i was thinking about the whole situation, as you see you can do alot but you will still be limited by the small size of that emmc ssd you have there you already mentioned the idea of move windows to the hard disk but windows 10 on a hard disk is honestly annoying to use have you considered remove the hard disk and buy a cheap 120 gbs ssd and replace the hard disk? the hard disk could be moved into a external hard disk enclosure if you need the space i know that you said you dont want to spend money, but this approach will give you alot more depending on your usage, and once you are done with the laptop and want to sell it or give it away, you remove the ssd and leave it with the emmc 32 gbs ssd, so no money is wasted
  22. the rca to jack adapter will do stereo no matter what device you connect to it, it only has wiring for 2 channels, so the kenwood repeats left and right speaker with the rear speakers as you report most of us when do this, never use more than two speakers, sorry for not mentioning that theoretically if you connect the other two connectors in the back of your pc soundcard, the mic and the line in into the rear of your kenwood using more rca to jack cables, connecting to the group of inputs called rear, surround and sub/center should give you 5.1 but you have to test it and set the pc accordingly, because the line in and mic are inputs on pc, so the sound card control program must be installed and set those inputs as outputs accordingly that kenwood unit has multiple spdif inputs, for the fiber cable, but you need a spdif output on the back of the pc, it looks like this but i never checked if pc will output 5.1 or just 2.1/2.0 and your sound card doesnt have spdif or toslink the other way to output audio is via hdmi but your unit doesnt have that input you mention a different soundcard, a different soundcard should come with the spdif and also coaxial connector that looks like a rca connector but is orange, afik those can transport 5.1, but never used one so i could be wrong there i would try first the rca to jack cables, if that doesnt work, then i would do abit more research directly with the soundcard you mention, if and how would it connect to the kenwood, often the only ones capable to exactly answer if those can and how can do 5.1 is the sound card manufacturer that asus xonar dgx you mention does come with spdif and coaxial, also the 3 3.5 mm jacks that you can use with the rca to jack cables that should be connected the same way i mentioned, front speakers go to speaker jack, then mic and line in go to surround and center subwoofer, but depends on each sound card which one is os which, so test alot is necesary there
  23. with such problems happen, no, the problem first to focus into is the router for the 5ghz to work the card must be ac capable, which router and wifi card are you using? since i dont know the details of your internet connection i dont know what settings you have to put in the router, so you must configure that part with the help of the router manual and your isp
