theoretically you should be able to use a 64 bit installer over the 32bit but is not guaranteed to work well, installer might complain and installation might end like a mess
why do you need to do that? is it a old machine? perhaps is better to leave it 32 bit
if you installed the wrong version, just save your personal files and reinstall but format the hard disk before installing 64bit again

the best review was made not long ago by gamers nexus, basically the solution is literally make more, bigger holes so air can flow inside or you cook parts inside basically
also you should not mount in that direction a gpu because it ends directly pointing the fans against the acrylic and cant move air at all really, the little air it will move will be very hot air produced by gpu and cpu, so is even worse for the gpu
-
that case can cook hardware
if you mount it like that it will burn it even faster
-
yes they should work if bios doesnt refuse to work with them for some compatibility reason
there is a chance the modules work in single channel, if the modules are very different or bios decides to do it that way
-
if you are going to put a rx570 in there, go for a r5 3400 then
-
a ddr4 2133 is sold with that speed because when tested by the manufacturer under common conditions gave stable results at that soeed
same applies for 2400, 2667, 3000 3200...
you can overclock ram but if it is sold as that slow is not guaranteed that it will run stable at 3000 mhz but probably will do 2667 just fine
all depends on the ram and how good is the motherboard and cpu at handling that ram and overclock

Not sure why people complain about the 212. They are not really that hard to put in. Takes me about 3 minutes.
3 minutes?!?
that is a eternity!
to be honest this cheap cooler i have here couldnt be more simple and also more complicated, it uses the old mount mechanism amd had before, but the thong is really anoying to install, it took me like 2 minutes to install, terrible amount of time! i know!

emulation is already similar or better then 3b+ with the nightly build of lakka in some cases, It is quite a journey tho my 4gb model is OC to 2ghz so my results might be a bit sewed
However that is without any specific optimizations yet for pi 4
those are great news, how are you cooling the overclocked pi? i really want to buy one to run pure linux, tools, disk management and that sort of stuff one misses when using windows only
-
i kept reading that one shouldnt buy that pi yet, no proper support for the gpu on some emulators and for some video playback that needs acceleration from gpu
having said that, try to go for the 4 gbs one, dont bother with the 1gb one

I said already, it particularly excels at low QD random reads. In that use case, my 900p 280GB is about 5x faster than my 970 Evo, and "only" cost 4x as much per capacity at the time of buying. Flash might be cheaper but it performs way worse. The only storage I used that was faster was a ramdisk, and that's about double the price per capacity again over Optane (at the last time I looked).
PCIe 4.0 doesn't change the performance of the storage types. It increases sequential slightly over PCIe 3.0 until we get better controllers.
Optane drives have worked on AMD systems form day 1. The only Intel tie in is if you want to use Intel's cacheing software. With AMD, you can use either AMD or other 3rd party software to do similar.
I'm not saying everyone should get Optane, but the fact is it does have performance that no other flash reaches. If you need it, you need it. If you don't, for sure, buy something cheaper. Samsung and Toshiba have tried to re-create something like Optane using nand, but while improved they're still not as fast, and still cost far more than regular flash.
i was talking about faster how, under what circumstances, random reads
what that represents for end user, all is relative, you can be happy and do all you want with a good emmc ssd
you could be upset with the best nvme
better how, in that how sense, how is better for you, for example loading games, or loading windows, loading files for a video project in adobe, faster or better how, under what circumstances, what use case, on those circumstances, when you look at it, well everything is relative, which one is the best,or better for you?
about optane and amd, i was talking about optane and the tool to increase hard disk performance, asking you to have a intel platform with the right cpu and motherboard to support the feature
later was added amd support, well, not really, amd allows you to use the drive in a similar way, but we are on a time where speed up a hard disk doesnt matter, because 1Tb nvme exist and is affordable for a big portion of the market
dont look optane as a winner or a looser
it is a interesting offering, but is not ideal for everyone

the router is connected to the gpon in ethernet port 1?
that same ethernet cable goes to the router in the wan port or the ethernet port1?

hi, when i turn on my pc this morning my cpu package is at 113 C and at 0.5ghz (temp by hwmonitor and corsair link)when it was fine last night, i have a h80i v2 cooler and it turns out it got clogged after i tap and shook it and its fine now.
at what temp does amd 1600 automatically shut down to prevent damage? does it automatically shut down? my computer was running for at least 30min at 113 C will it have significant damage?
thanks!
i heard that thermal shutdown happens at 110°c
but i saw a video where it happened at 120°c
i would just change thermal paste and keep using it
there is no point on worry if it will live a long life or if you will change it for a 4000 series next july
btw, that h80 if is starting to fail, i would remove it and put a air cooler, liquid water on that cpu has no point if you are not overclocking ot at least to 4.1ghz

how is configured your network, from the street enters fiber optic to the gpon
do you have connected a router to the gpon?
you say you disconnect your pc, from wifi, ethernet physically?

If fans are revving, it probably means the fan curve is too aggressive. Have you tried playing with the fan curves?
The NH-D15 would fit.
Lowering core voltage can lower performance without obvious signs of instability. It's important to test for performance afterwards since it doesn't take much of a voltage drop to lower performance.
OptimumTech and GamersNexus had posted some videos showing how it's easy to overlook this performance drop when just looking at clock speeds.
if you have the noise, perhaps not just adjust fan curve, but change to a bigger better heatsink with a 120mm fan that can move more air but spin slower

So the fastest to date storage shouldn't be at a price premium?
Anyway, back to OP's question, it is fast, but you have to look at how. Optane is more ram-like than flash's block like structure. This particularly helps with low queue depth random reads. If that isn't an area of benefit, then you might not see a benefit in actual use. If you just want sequential speed, flash SSDs will do that cheaper.
the fastest, well, fastest how, and for who
at what price should be higher
nvme is not far
for personal use ssd is not far from it
everything is relative to the client, use scenario and budget
there was a time you could charge 130 for a hard disk, not anymore
same for a nvme
optane used to charge like 80 dollars for 32gbs
perhaps is faster, but is not better, and there is no way to justify the price, not when it is barely faster than pci express 4 nvme rhat is not far from the price of normal nvme for pci express 3.0
in the end each one justifies what they pay foe what they get, i cant justify nor the size or the price
dont forget that optane ask for intel hardware first, later came amd support
it went from a high price unique market part, now it will try to compete with the other company that was involved in optane development and with normal nvme, not a easy market, not when ssds still are good enough
-
the problem with optane is price, and size
at first optane was offered not as a storage device but as a added card to help prove performance of hard disks
but price is ridiculous, you pay for 16 gbs the same you pay for a 240 gbs nvme
prices have changed recently, but optane is not moving forward in the market, not at least as intel would like to
256gbs to be used on a pc as a boot drive costs around 130 dollars, alot less than it used to, but the benefits of use it as boot drive are not that impressive
move windows from a hard disk to a ssd is a big improvement
move windows from a ssd to a nvme is a very small improvement
move windows from a nvme to a optane, perhaps is not a improvement
not at least in terms of you seeing the pc running apps faster, booting faster, performing faster

well i still need to measure the size between the tv and my bed i really hope its at least 7 feet
well i thought about putting the tv on a table while sitting in front of it in my bed but if putting it on a wall will increase the distance then I'm up for it. and probably a simple one
My eyes get strained easily that's what i'm afraid of the less strain the better
that is a good idea, if you find it too close, too big, you can wallmount it, if not big enough you can move the table or desk closer
as i mentioned i had 32" tv on similar distances, it is a hd tv,not fullhd, it was abit small but big enough, 40" should be great, 55", depends on you
the bigger and clearer the letters and images less tired your eyes will get, i mentioned that too big but is a personal perception, depends on the size of the room
i thimk you will end up loving it but not at 4k, at 1080p, but yes, go for it

This sounds kind of like you just forgot to download graphics drivers imo
or connected to the onboard gpu on the i7
where are you connecting the monitor, in the motherboard or in the rtx?
-
you can play at any distance, but on that size and at that distance perhaps you will find it to be too big
i would buy a 40" tv instead, but yes, should work
the dustance and eyes, i used to hear that the bigger the tv, more distance to see image properly, but i had read that is not really true
if you can read well at that distance it is ok
i had a 40" tv and to watch tv news at that distance, 10 feet, thw news tv host looks like a giant, it was abit shocking to me, i replaced it with a 32" tv and find it just ok
this is relative to the viewer really, so what i find enormous and shocking might be just ok for you
buy the tv, if it is 4k it will just be fine for text reading i think, at that distance letters should be bug enough
if you are going to mount it on the wall, is it going to go on a arm so you can move it forward or backwards or just a simple wallmount?
-
the idle temperatures are abit high
the load ones are not that terrible
how many fans dis you put on the case? in the front specifically
if you dont like the heat, or the noise from the stock cooler then i would change it, yes
-
then i understood wrong
that list is what you have now and the ho prebuilt is not used, correct?
did you installed windows 10 clean or did you kept the windows 10 from the prebuilt?

game added support for voodoo accelerator, so you had to select the right environment instead of opengl, direct3d or software rendering
which also needed a driver to handle the load sent by the game to speed up the 3d acceleration on games like unreal tournament
on that time if the game developer did not added the voodoo glide support, no 3d for you and game had to be run on the cpu only making the 3d acelerator do nothing more than wasting electricity and space inside the case
on that time those were not 2 gpus, it was one, doing 2d load and the voodoo doing 3d acceleration when the game supported it
later when voodoo added the sli capabilities they made the voodoo also a 2d acelerator, a entire gpu, so they could get rid of the 2d acelerator, those old gpus like trident 2mbs or similar old video adapters because call them accelerators is not fair really
o that time if the game added later a patch to support glide, you had to find a friend that let you download the patch, burn to a cd and install the patch, and also download a newer voodoo driver, because surely the one that came in the box was outdated and wasnt going to work well with the patch the game you downloaded released asking for a newer driver
back then support was fin, really fun, make anything work was a wonder
