  1. are you sure the power consumption is 0.48 amps for each fan? that number sounds abit high for just a single color led fan, my single colored fans are like 0.3amps it should be ok i think for the header because those 0.48 is under max speed and you should set a fan curve in bios, usually those headers are 2 amps, not 1 but if you say 1 i think you done some research on your motherboard specs if you have concerns buy a powered fan hub using molex or sata power cable about the power outages killing parts, i cant imagine how bad those were to kill those fans but if you got damaged parts, it is very likely you will loose more parts in the future, i recomend you to buy a ups to give a layer of protection angainst those power outages you ecperienced
  2. i take this as a no, you did not tried to clean the keyboard before using it again, the liquid could still be there doing more damage, so clean it and see if at least the damage doesnt extend more give it a clean and remember to avoid have any form of drinks near a pc to avoid these kind of surprises with a clean i mean disasemble and remove liquid from components
  3. that motherboard is decent and should support a i5 or a i7 non k versions best it can support taking in consideration the lack of overclockability is a i7 7700 or buy the k version but just because it runs 600 mhz faster than the non k version it is around 300 dollars on amazon, perhaps on ebay you could find it cheaper if you consider moving to a newer intel, a i5 9400 could be a good option at 200, is cheaper than the i7 but you will need new motherboard, so the cost goes up to the same of the i7 if you move to amd, perhaps a r5 2600 and a decent b450 motherboard and you would be under the price of the i5 and with some extra money to spend on more ram these 3 ideas assume you will reuse the rest of the build, including ram
  4. what, now we are going to be friends? you are a special kind of person! hopefully i live far, far, far from you
  5. my point is, dont disable anything, you want to know how to disable cores, you already said that ryzen master lets you do that if that is not what you want, well, that is all i can offer you
  6. motherboards these days dont come with screws, usually is just sata cables, i/o shield, cd with drivers and the motherboard with the manuals a quick check onsi page for that motherboard confirms it, no screws included, those come with the case, no the motherboard
  7. under load, goes up to 70 perhaps? vrms can survive up to 90°c you already said that you will replace motherboard you can disable cores, but you are under limits there, not in a terrible danger, i would just put the fan and remove side panel while the new motherboard and better airflow is achieved
  8. you didnt answered about temperatures, you might consider a problem the fan, but you never confirmed any temperatures to know if you really have a problem
  9. what temperatures are you seeing on that motherboard? sometimes all you need is put a fan over the vrm area if temperatures are too high
  10. dont tell me what to do do with my money. gtav is doing just fine here with 8gbs, if one can buy more, nice, if not, dont come with lies telling people they cant survive without at least 16 gbs or they have to find a new hobby btw, a ram kit where i live costs 150 dollars, not just 17, really you know nothing
  11. if a person asks if 8 gbs is enough, for me it means that they probably cant pay more without compromising the rest of the build in some way for some of us 100 dollars is alot, perhaps for you is just pennies, but for others is not
  12. not everybody has lots of money, not everywhere in the world ram is cheap, you assume alot of things there
  13. some games already use 6 gbs easily and windows uses the other 2, so go for 16 if you can afford that
  14. sometimes the colored ones are for raid so i would use the black ones, unless they are labeled in any special way on the motherboard, if all of them are labeled just sata 0 to 3 then there is no difference really, put on the first sata your hdd with the os in it and in sata 1 or 2 the next hard disk or ssd
  15. no, thankfully coaxial is not copper the signal sent on those wires basically travel over the surface of the "copper" core, that is just a cheap metal with a thin coat of copper to do the real job is not worth to steal or recycle, good and bad at the same time about vdsl, is decent, yes, but in reality is just copper with lots of limitations, those limitations often decend on the isp, if they take case of the wires, the equipment, their infrastructure the service can be quite decent, in reality vdsl is just the end of the line and most isps are moving into hfc or pure ffth, fiber to the masses, so those dsl infrastructures become expensive and not cost effective is a shame that 4g is not reliable, 5g could be better, theoretically, time will tell something tells me that satellite internet will be better than 5g
  16. the comment was about amd cpus, not intel cpus, completelly different, amd has a auto overclockingn solution integrated on the cpu and bios, intel has nothing like that
  17. in terms of cost, what determines the cheapest upgrade is your motherboard, if is decent and you can buy a i5 at least that would be great if your budget allows more, of course that ryzen is the way to go
  18. if the tv reports properly capabilities, resolution and refresh rate, you will not be able to select anything over 720p if for some reason it allows you the image might come nor properly centered, reduced or distorted remember that some tvs say 120 or higher hz, but in reality when you connect them to a pc most will do 60hz if it was my tv, yes, i would run it at the native resolution
  19. remember that the difference between a gaming pc and a workstation sometimes is only the gpu make portable a workstation in the way you say you want is a bad idea, more easy to be stolen or damaged in transport i think that what you meed is some good laptops with external gpu enclosures or a good internal quaddro gpu like a lenovo p52 or something bigger the implementation of what you want will always be all your eggs in one basket, no matter what multiple workstations allow you a tremendous flexibility, a single pc will give you 0 flexibility, but that is just my opinion
  20. i dont know the case so cant comment, the ram, if you can buy 3200mhz and not just 2x4 but 2x8 would be better, but that depends on your budget the motherboard might need a bios update to work with the cpu, you need to check if it allows you to update bios without cpu the rest seems good to me
  21. is kinda sad but is true, i dont even know if my new pc has a working soundcard, the two previous pcs i had were the same, i use speakers connected to a tv or to a monitor so my soundcard could go disabled and i would never knee
  22. that motherboard will only let you overclock ram to overclock cpu you need a b450 or higher motherboard chipset on that motherboard your cpu will run at 3.5ghz and thats it you dont overclock infinity fabric, you overclock the cpu overclock the ram will be helpful specially if you use the vega 8 gou
  23. i was going to recomend produkey too, but since the usb installer does find the key the same way, well, is a extra step not much need

    Best thermal paste

mx4 is the most popular, not expensive and with great results if you can buy a 20g syringe, the 4g one will let you install like 10 cpus, the 20g will let you install alot of cpus there are cheaper ones but those basically are too liquid and evaporates in weeks, im testing one very cheap but so far is doing well is so cheap that i cant even find it on ebay lol
  25. the key is stored in the bios, once you create a new install disk being a usb or dvd, when you install the installer will look and use that key without much intervention if you clone the disk, the license might not even need to be checked, system might just keep going and not even warn you, mine didnt when u cloned from ssd to nvme
