  1. Tbh, move makes sense to me, setting mobile/desktop as default. Only thing I would disagree is completely removing an option to have email notifications for people that still want it. I lean towards the younger audience and have clicked or opened email notifications grand total of 0 times, it's just spam to me... I assume, based on my behaviour, that a significant portion of view time is now towards mobile devices, why would I open one app(email about video upload) just to be redirected to the other one or go in and manually search for video based on that email? Also, generating these notifications is easier on bandwidth, speed and number of jobs required for processing them compared to emails...
  2. Tbh not surprised, was on Mixer the other day and almost every streamer was sub 1k viewers. Problem with this big companies is that they don't have the patience to build up a platform like this, they dump millions of $ and expect instant growth. But it takes time for consumers to catch up... Big move now would be for YT to pick up Ninja and Shroud, YT has an actual chance to take down Twitch...
  3. Americans are such a masters of marketing and spinning things back and forth. I like how this sounds like they are threatening consumers to settle down and stop this massive outrage or they will increase prices. Comparing it with other ways of entertainment is dumb. Gaming popularity comes exactly from having lower prices. I'd like to see how many gamers would commit to a 200$ SWBF2. lower price => more popular higher price => less popular
  4. People tend to forget about 3rd party impact. I am on Android and remember when FB apk was 50mb total. Nowadays when you install FB it's a 350MB apk. Of course it won't run as smooth as it once did on hardware that barely ran it when it was 50MB. Not to mention every new iteration of OS adds new features that drain more resources from a device. 2017 apk and OS are built for 2017 hardware. Anyone expecting it to run smoothly on 2013 hardware, with 50% less RAM, 50% less battery and 40% slower SOC is an idiot...
  5. Also try running Steam from terminal, it will print you any errors that might come up..
  6. I have that theme, and this is how it looks like on my pc: As far as i know that theme doesn't change icons nor navbar...
  7. Have you tried with Unity tweak tool? sudo apt-get install unity-tweak-tool
  8. Hey man, it's a feature, no need to be so negative about it. If you are such a good driver you indirectly claim to be, then you need no gMaps, don't bother bashing on those who use it. No one said anyone in their right mind should spend more then 0.5s looking at that photo while driving, aka equivalent to time you spend on checking each of your mirrors when using blinkers. And if you are not sure, there are this things called brakes. You push on the pedal so your car slows down, or comes to a stop. If you are not capable of taking a quick glimpse, take an Uber, how did you even pass on blinker checks for license. Many times people have passengers that can help them out, this would especially be helpful in a foreign country. And many times you wan't even need it, cause it will be obvious where you should turn, no other intersection in sight. Of course it's not gonna be perfect. Every system has flaws. But road change isn't that often. It's not like roads and highways pop up or get removed daily from crowded places like cities or cross-country highways. If you are trying to make a turn based on the input from the screen, but instead of the road there is a liqueur store there, and you still turn right/left, once again - take an Uber, spare everyone else in traffic, you don't know to drive. Best regards.
  9. Fix for night theme users, pls. Shame that it's just thumbs that you have to click on to see. It would be cool if it showed you a picture in navigation mode, like when you are coming up to a turn in a 100m and she says "In 100 meters turn right", you get a picture of that intersection while she is talking.
  10. And that right there is why i don't use shit from Apple, as i've disclosed in the first sentence in my post. I've just blatantly assumed it works like that since even Mega has that, thanks for clarifying how it works (or better put doesn't work).
  11. Well i don't know anything about iCloud, never used anything from Apple. But i'm guessing it functions pretty much the same as MegaSync or GoogleDrive. And if I understood you well you want to be able to share that storage with your family members. Well that's easy, at least on GDrive and Mega. There is an option where you can share a folder from your Cloud acc to someone else, you can grant them read, write, edit permissions. You can see in the 1st picture below that i am the owner of a folder, so it's stored on my Cloud acc, but i've shared it with Luka and granted him 'view only' permission. So i'm guessing you could make a folder for family members you want to share with, grant them read and write access to those folders and call it a day. Although note that in order to sync folders shared with you folders you will probably need to dig through sync client preferences and then those files you sync but note that they will take up space from that Cloud acc (see 2nd pic), and on the web/mobile version files will show in a submenu 'Shared with me'... Now you will have to figure out on your own how this works on iCloud, i just right click in browser the folder i want to share and get the window from 1st screenshot, type in someones email and i'm done. Hope this helps you...
  12. I'm sorry, but that confuses me too. Now i can see you are Scottish, and i am not a native English speaker, but wording of that sentence is a bit off for me too. I feel like that's two separate sentences, or at least a coma between them. So: yeah, no specs or really anything unfortunately. However the note line will continue! or yeah, no specs or really anything unfortunately, however the note line will continue! Best regards!
  13. First of all, don't get too excited quickly. Let me tell you a few things about Linux before you begin, it will save you a of lot time and effort. Before i begin i will disclose that i'm a noob, i've been using Ubuntu for the past year and I don't know a lot about other distros, and that everything below is just my personal opinion. First thing you need to know is that Linux is not Windows(obviously lol). Now what i mean by that is there is no (in most cases) "one click solutions". You are your own support. If something is not working no one is going to hold your hand and fix it for you. You will have too Google it and find a solution or fix it on your own. Also installation of programs is 50%-50% when it comes to "one click installations". I don't really know about other distros, but for me on Ubuntu(and Debian) there are these .deb packages that are fairly easy to install because they are pretty much like .exe installations on Windows. But the other half are either zipped in .tar.gz format, so you need to know how to extract them and where to put them (in the beginning i had a folder in my /home/usr but now i just put them in /opt). Or you need to install it through terminal (apt-get for Ubuntu, and i guess Debian as well). Oh yes, get ready for that. Terminal is the most, most! important thing on Linux, you will need it for almost everything, everything! Btw terminal = cmd in windows as far as looks go and some commands like cd or dir. So pretty much you need to know some general commands in terminal to get around pretty much everything in Linux. As far as games go my general opinion is forget about them. There are some through steam, like csgo and dota, they work ok, depending on your driver. But everything else is a pain in the ass to set up. I'm not saying it's impossible, I didn't bother since i don't game. And the performance of games is also questionable since no DX on Linux. You will need wine to install pretty much anything. So if you are planing on gaming i would suggest dual booting with Windows. Now about other programs. A lot of them have their respective Linux versions, some are as good as on Win, some are not. For everything else there is a similar Linux app that pretty much does the thing you need it to do. If you need anything from Adobe or Microsoft for your work/school forget about it, nothing is supported natively, but i guess some could be installed via wine as well. As far as programming tools go (since im a CS student), i am yet to find something mainstream that doesn't have a Linux version, so that is pretty good supported (with exception of Visual Studio, Microsoft ofc). If you ask me i like Linux. Even after all the hustle and problems the pop up from time to time. I switched from Windows because i got tired from all things MS forced down our throats like upgrades, using edge, constant monitoring and telemetry, that shit was killing my HDD. It took me 3 attempts to switch from windows. I would install Ubuntu and something would not work so i'd get pissed and delete Ubuntu partition and go back to windows. And then 3 months later i'd try again. That went on until last semester when i picked up a Linux Administration class and that taught me everything i needed to know. Although i still keep Windows on my other partition, just in case i need something or i feel like wasting time on some game for a few hours. So yea, that would sum it up. Best regards
  14. No problem man, we are here to help. Just get used to googling a lot cause these sorts of things happen often on linux
  15. Never mind the output. It just says one of the files does not exist, but he did delete the other one. It is essentially the same file/library, just a 32 bit and a 64bit versions. He deleted 32bit one, but couldn't find a 64bit one. That might be because you have 32bit ubuntu, or some other reason. Just try to run steam now, it should be able to start and auto update it self so you wont get these sorts of errors no more.
