People wonder what i think about net neutrality given I do not want the government meddling with any part of our lives.
First of all, lets get out of the way ajit pai is a shill for corporations. Yep, this is correct.
Ajit pai is the perfect example of chronyism, when corporations lobby the government and prevent competition from driving down prices and increasing quality of service.
He should NOT be restricting individual states from making their own internet rules at the State or Local Level. These regions should feel free to do what they want.
Okay now lets talk about the net neutrality thing:
Long story short, I agee with net neutrality BUT:
1. ONLY where an ISP has a monopoly
2. NOT in every place
3. NOT at the federal level.
4. Random infrequent auditing of ISPs in places with few competitors.
First of all, the internet these days is a utility. It is just as important for daily life as your water and heating bill are. Anyone who says otherwise is probably a paid out lawyer.
The beauty of competition is it provides incentives for firms to provide better services for consumers at lower prices. Unfortunately when there is a monopoly, this incentive does not exist. As such firms should operate as heavily regulated monopolies just like your electric company.
A good example is DTE energy. an electricity and gas provider, in Michigan. DTE energy operates as a heavily regulated monopoly in Michigan. The state of michigan has set strict price controls and consumer protections for them and they have usually been pretty good. The same could work for your ISP.
2. NOT in every place:
Some places do not have a competition problem and have a few ISPs to choose from. In this situation, net neutrality is not required. But in very rural areas, local governments can make decisions for what is best for them.
3. NOT at the federal level:
This comes back to point 2. It is not the governments job to decide how a state of local governments life ahould be run. In this situation, there should be no federal rule of net neutrality and it should be left up to state and local governments.
Net neutrality should be left up to the states and local governments. If the state has a monopoly for one ISP in a certian area, then some form of net neutrality should be allowed. In a place with plenty of competition, net neutrality is not required.

Coming from someone who has a lot of AMD hardware, AMD fanboys annoy the everloving shit outta me because they'll do anything to justify buying whatever, usually a Ryzen 3 2200G or an RX 580 over something else even if those aren't the greatest choices for one's needs.

Fanboys are evidence our society is filled with idiotic corporate brainwashed zombies who lack any and all critical thinking skills.
If you are incapable of considering purchasing the competition, you are a zombie and are the reason corporations do not innovate. If people had critical thinking, then there would be more choices available at better services for consumers at lower prices.
Im talking to apple fanboys specifically.

this is a very interesting video. and i'm kind of annoyed as well.
Ubuntu has been kinda my safe space if i want a distro that i don't have to hold up with glue and duct tape. it will just work. it will install the proprietary wifi drivers i need if i tick the box in the installer, and it will just work without too much hassle.
sure Arch is a lot of fun and i do really like it, but the better support and the more stable approach to updates over Arch made me switch back to Ubuntu.
now that APT will go away as default package manager i'm not sure i wanna stay on Ubuntu... i might just move to pure Debian or Fedora.
fedora is less likely because i hate it, but i will probably hate Ubuntu 19.04 more.
i also don't know of too many distro's that will have the support Ubuntu has and use a GNOME desktop.
i'm honestly a little lost here. i don't wanna run an Ubuntu LTS because those are so outdated.

Also According to @James Evens Reselling e-waste in Germany is illegal. This makes absolutely ZERO sense. Let's go over that:
1. Germany is part of the EU.
2. The EU wants to help the environment.
3. The best way to help the environment is the REDUCTION and REUSE of products instead of the RECYCLING of said products. Have you ever heard the 3 Rs of recycling, reduce, reuse, recycle? Yeah, it's in that order for a reason. That's because it requires zero or negative energy to reduce use of a product, it requires barely energy to reuse a product, and believe it or not it requires a LOT of energy to recycle a product. Random article on this: https://www.clearancesolutionsltd.co.uk/our-reuse-and-recycling-success-as-green-as-it-gets/the-three-rs-the-difference-between-recycling-reusing/
4. Because of this, the EU should be encouraging the re-use since recycling requires a tremendous amount of energy. In some cases, just mining new materials can actually be less harmful to the environment than trying to recycle said products. Here is an article from forbes addressing this:
Because recycling is now a commodity market in some cases recyclers are incentivised to just throw cardboard away in the landfill because they can't make money. People also fail to consider the hundreds of thousands of garbage trucks that must be used to transport this recycled material everywhere.
5. Okay, so ideally we would want to reuse a product instead of recycle it, right?
6. WRONG! we're going to make reselling e-waste ILLEGAL in the EU because nope, fuck you! Because we are a government, we are going to pull shitty BS to prevent you from reusing ewaste. Nope, it must be recycled (All governments make stupid contradictory arguments, conservative governments are equally guilty of this).
If you want to visit junkyards like me and easily acquire thousands of dollars of PC parts for pennies on the dollar, please call up your local congressman and remove this Bu*lshit government bureaucracy preventing you from not only saving the environment, but making money!
Now the current argument to why computers have to be shredded is "we can't recycle them to protect the persons personal data". Yeah, this is a fair argument. Can't have someones tax returns or a businesses trade secrets getting out there. but how about we just pull the hard drives from the machines, that's it! If you get in a machine, just pull the drives and sell them with no HDDs. This is the reason I have been successful on buying e-waste before, because I just never sell hard drives so it removes the liability of someones personal data being leaked. I just go in and say "hey can I buy your computers, i'll pull the drives?" and this usually get's me much further.
the point is I know a TON of people on the forum have tried to replicate what I do, and the only thing holding you back is your government bureaucrats. Reselling e-waste creates jobs, helps the environment, reduces energy usage, and creates new markets that didn't exist before. These are all things governments like to hear, except for some damn reason we're not gonna let you resell these machines for some BS having to do with personal data.
So those of you out there who think we should be a "democratic socialist" country, THIS is what a heavily regulated free market get's you. I hope you like your nanny state.

Switched the active mixer with a passive one.
Much better, no noise at all with this one.
So the moral of the story? If you already have a decent amplifier, don't get a mixer that has an amplifier in it. Get a passive mixer instead. Keep in mind that passive mixers tend to decrease volume by around 25% so your amp will need to compensate.

After using my classmate’s 2017 13” MacBook Pro with Touch Bar last night for our report, I can finally say that there are two things Apple needs to get rid off:
The Butterfly key switches - No matter how anyone make lousy excuses for it, typing on it doesn’t feel good especially for prolonged typing. You’ll often second guess yourself if you’ve actually typed a specific letter because of its pathetically shallow key travel. Touch Bar - It adds very little functionality to it and makes typing requiring an additional step. Unlike the 2015 MBP and other laptops with physical function keys like F2 for editing a cell in Excel, the newer ones require an extra step or two just to bring up the stupid Touch Bar. But when it comes to the OS, I still stand to what I’ve said in the past that macOS has features you’ll actually use and feels less bloated in comparison to Windows 10.
