  1. I bought the Gaming X 6gb for $369, then got $36 off from the price rewind feature on my credit card. This was before the price sky rocketed to $596. I just checked and new egg has come back down on the price. They also have some Vegas for less than $1000 as well.
  2. Following this thread. I’m curious about this myself. I’m waiting for all the components to come in before I build. I’m thinking about using the IC diamond Linus loves raving about in hopes to get a cooler temp than the factory stock thermal. I’ve seen a couple other videos where supposedly it helped run cooler than the typical silicone 5(?) im going to be running 8 fans most of them silent wings in a dark base 900 pro. So hopefully that drowns the sound. Let me know what results you get.
  3. Wow nice job. I’m hoping when I get my new house to create a similar project. I’ve dreamt of creating a customized desk with my pc built into the desk. Or basically create my own “smart” desk.
  4. I’ve been out of the loop. Care to expound more? I’ll try and read up later, but I would love to know what you mean.
  5. I got it for a total of $424. I did add the 4 year extended warranty for $55. Otherwise I would have got it for $370 Thanks I will look into that! I do plan on ramping it up, but I will need those upgrades before I do. I’ve been reading a lot about how SLI has just gone down the drain. I probably won’t do any SLI but I haven’t heard anything negative really about the crossfire. Is it facing the same issues?
  6. Project Genysis Hello all. I’m new to the forums, and I’ve been out of the tech world for a while. I’ve been flooding myself with article after article, video upon video ranging from; Tom’s hardware, LTT, Paul’s Hardware, UFD, and many more. I built my first PC back in 2008. Now 10 years later I’m building my next. I’ve ordered all the parts and I intend to post updates with pictures in the future. Parts are ordered and in the mail. I’m just reeeaaaallly excited! Lol While knew I didn’t know a whole lot about PC building back then, I’ve realized now that I was really clueless then. I’ll first list my current build I’m making then show you what I have. Genysis: Board - ASRock x370 Killer Sli/ac CPU - AMD Ryzen 7 1700(currently just going with stock cooling) RAM - G.SKILL Trident RGB 16gb (2 x 8gb) DDR4 3200 Graphics Card - MSI GeForce GTX 1060 6g Gaming X PSU - EVGA 850 G3 modular Case - be quiet! Dark Base 900 pro black/silver SSD - Samsung 960 evo 250gb m.2 HDD - Toshiba x300 4TB Monitor - Samsung C24F390 Glossy Black 24” 4ms widescreen curves led/lcd with AMD freesync For some extra fun - Thermaltake riing 3pc RGB 120mm fan set with control. I will list my first PC build and it’s upgrades here later. All for now. Please feel free to give suggestions on water cooling, fan upgrades, etc. I do plan on getting a couple dual cards that can run either crossfire or SLI later. Thanks! I’ve added a photo of the progress. It’s all built now, but I haven’t taken the time to get all the photos just yet.
