Jerakl reacted to Middcore in LMG censor Reddit
There is not a single subreddit on reddit that provides a public log of all moderator actions.
Once again, the karma requirement to post on the sub was removed hours ago, so you are free to go waste people's time there now instead of wasting people's time here literally complaining about nothing.

Jerakl reacted to ToboRobot in Female representation in the LMG & the tech media sphere
Why isn't there an equal push to get men into jobs and industries dominated by women?
Seems like many are not willing to be honest about why people do the things and jobs they do.

In terms of what it COULD'VE been I honestly think floatplane is nice.

Jerakl got a reaction from dragonhero94 in Madison reveals experiences working at LMG
Real.
If someone saying "I'm leaving the community!!!!" were a longtime viewer but only made a forum account for this they weren't ever really part of the/a "community".
Community requires interaction and organization that you wouldn't get out of just being a viewer and maybe commenting sometimes.

Do you believe reviews should be accurate? That's a pro-GN view.
Do you think theft is bad? Classic pro-GN view.
Are you against workplace bullying and sexual harassment? Oh, you better believe that's a paddlin' a pro-GN view!

Jerakl reacted to andreimj in My render and accurate messurments of the BL cooler
DO you know what they talked? Have you seen the conversations? DO you know what terms they accepted when submitted the product for review? Do you know that Billet said that it might work with a 4090? Do you know what type of 4090 that was? How do you know that it didn't fit when Billet didn't know in the first place? Oh, they changed their mind afterwards, how convenient. Do you know that they refused Linus's offer to get back their "best prototype"? Maybe they like the moneyz more (sum which Billet refused to disclose)

Jerakl reacted to andreimj in My render and accurate messurments of the BL cooler
Finally someone that uses his brain. What the hell is happening, why is everybody so avid to discredit Linus for such an at most average performing product? I would add that Linus was composed and didn't shit on this cooler like he could've done, and he could rightfully do so. If this shitstorm would've been about accuracy, maybe I could understand, cuz the community would've wanted LTT to grow... But this is not even about Linus anymore, it's about justice. WHAT JUSTICE?! Billet made a post about refusing Linus's offer to get back their "best prototype" =)))). On what grounds? On the grounds of the integrity of the cooler (That maybe it doesn't work anymore =))))). Sure Billet, take the moneyz (sum which they refused to disclose) and play the victim card
P.S: I made an account just because people are unsubscribing and I also subscribed to floatplane.

Jerakl reacted to Shimejii in Wargaming closes down World of Warships Community Forum, choses Discord as replacement
just another thing for cost cutting. Discord is truly dogshit for this kind of thing, but most devs dont actually use much of the forums at this point for their games.

Jerakl got a reaction from Paul17 in Alternatives to Nvida for Content creation
I mean there's nothing that says you HAVE to buy a 4090 unless you're looking for the absolute best in performance.
4090 is a meme (and again unless you're looking for the absolute pinnacle of performance) completely unnecessary.
Especially if budget is of concern, a used 3000 series card may be a good idea if you find out AMD isn't any good for what you wanna do (which I can't speak to at all).
Again, I can't at all speak to what AMD cards are like for a video-editing workload. But I can say that a used 3000 series card or non-4090 4000 series card would likely serve you well if you decide to go the nvidia route (and without bankrupting you).

Jerakl reacted to da na in How many of your "fired" LTT in the past?
I second this, that was a little far.
I've never turned to LTT content expecting in-depth technical reviews, I go to review websites for that, it's more of lighthearted entertainment for me. I do watch TechLinked, since the triweekly show is a fantastic summary of tech goings-on, but the main channel I don't quite take seriously (and haven't for years).

Jerakl reacted to Uttamattamakin in How many of your "fired" LTT in the past?
An attack helicopter joke in the credits for a video. It was used for someone on probation. Part because it's transphobic part because they didn't get the origin of the meme in that. (Heli's being inanimate VS a person having some different genetic or neurological wiring. It's more like being a Hackintosh.)

Jerakl got a reaction from RevGAM in Most powerful CPU possible for Thermalright AK90?
13600k runs pretty hot. I know it's not exactly a powerhouse cooler, but I have a single fan cooler master AIO (all that'd fit my case + mobo), and it can hit 100C.
As another member said the ryzen 7000 series non-x chips might be worth looking into.
And also as another member said, I don't know if basing a CPU choice around a hyper212 competitor is a good idea lmao

Jerakl reacted to Bitter in School forcing me to install MDM software on privately owned laptop
I mean....if you have a late assignment you could always just wipe your device then blame the IT dept for it while pointing at the MDM policies saying that they can wipe your device etc, easy excuse I suppose 🤣

I'll be honest that sounds entirely fair. Can u not use or own internet or what? Mobile phones not allowed?
Also title is misleading as hell, they do not force you *at all*.

Jerakl got a reaction from Ebony Falcon in Z690 chipset temps
I looked at it but it was locked in the bios and I couldn't figure out what setting I needed to change to unlock it.
I did see some reports this could help as a stop gap/temp fix.
I contacted asus support thinking maybe they'd give me some sort of advice about a BIOS (or other form of software) fix, but they basically just told me to RMA it immediately and set me up with an RMA claim.
Which I honestly... wasn't expecting given how some of these companies can be about warranty issues.

Jerakl got a reaction from ImServs in New Gaming/Game Dev rig. Cant decide between DDR4 and DDR5. Is there any marjor difference here?
I can't comment on EXACTLY what you're doing.
As far as I know when it comes to ram speeds, timing does matter a lot.
You've got a 3600 CL18 selected for DDR4, and a 5600 CL36 selected for DDR5, thus:
So per these screenshots (which you can try yourself from the link) the DDR4 you've selected would have less latency (and as far as I know basically latency = "speed", which I could be totally wrong about, but it's how I've kinda measured overall ram performance)
If "future proofing" doesn't matter to you I personally would go DDR4.
Just because it's likely a cheaper option. Both the ram itself and the motherboard will likely be cheaper.
However, as someone who also recently did an lga 1700 sff pc, iirc the options for a z690 mobo that supports ddr4 is actually kinda limited (Gigabyte has a reasonably priced z690 DDR4 board I believe)
I could be completely wrong about any sort of performance difference, as I'm no expert.

Jerakl reacted to flibberdipper in Z690 chipset temps
That certainly doesn't seem right to me. I've got a Z690I Aorus Ultra and after playing Insurgency for about an hour and a half? and now sitting around doing not a lot, the PCH is at a comparatively frosty 47C with both of the M.2's in the sandwich occupied. Granted I do have some airflow over the stack, but by the time it gets down to the bottom M.2 slot and the PCH the radiator fans above it don't do a whole hell of a lot of good since they're sucking air over it.
Time to bitch at ASUS and see if you can get something figured out.

Jerakl got a reaction from YoungBlade in Replacement for Phanteks P300A side pannel?
Did you contact their support?
They sent me a replacement pcie riser for my shift air no questions asked as soon as I had an issue.
To clarify: that case is a couple years old. So maybe you'll get lucky.

Jerakl reacted to TetraSky in AMD and Intel say "Trust me Bro"
"Hello, mr AMD? I think my CPU died. Overclock? I don't know what that is. Oh in the BIOS? I only ever opened that to change the boot order. I have not touched anything else in there. I just put the computer together and installed windows to play some games. I don't know anything about anything else"
And there's your warranty.
