thelordofwarr got a reaction from Mark Kaine in Half my memory is 'hardware reserved'. Desperately need help!
Normally that isn't an issue, what happens when you do sth that takes more than let's say 3 GB of ram? For me I right now have 12.7GB in use and 77mb hardware reserved.

Hardware reserved means that's ram that is reserved for the bios and other peripherals

Well you probably should DDU in safe mode and reinstall the nVidia drivers fresh new before any thing.

I would first try of it works with the CPU installed, also putting the mobo in its in case position(outside of the case) just to be sure. But you mostly should be fine. If you are scared you probably can send it back and get a new one

I flashed his gpu bios, and his pc appears to be working. Before it happened almost immediately when playing Doom, but he was able to play the game further. Although it is one of those things where it could happen immediately or it could go hours or days before happening, so only time will tell if it is fixed, but I feel it probably is.

not my area of expertise but after the cpu it checks ram so maybe try taking all ram out and just using one stick at a time in each slot to see if you have a bad stick or bad slot?

Whats your currentl system? id try streaming at that first, to see if you like it, then spend money when you know you like it and have a audence. Most people don't stream very often and will get very few viewers.

thelordofwarr got a reaction from Firetech in Is it worth delidding my i7 6700k?
You could also try to push it further with the stock TIm as 60c isn't too bad and you got a lot of voltage headroom. If you want to delid it first try to make yourself familiar to applying LM. Here's linus older video, I would recommend using a delidding tool if you are unsure about the razor approach, here's the Delid-Die-Mate 2 https://www.caseking.de/der8auer-delid-die-mate-2-fsd8-019.html (you might have to try to find it on a US site)

I don't think there's triple channel ram, also what CPU are you using? Tbh I don't think that it works, the two will probably function in dual channel with the third one sitting around(still funktional maybe, tbh I didn't test sth like this on my own)

    1. what
    2. I just considered the efficency curve of the PSUs, wich leads to the best efficency around 45-50% usage, and that's what the system would probabyl draw. also a benefit of a higher wattage psu is that it's (most of the time) quieter. I'm not telling what to buy I just give a reccomendation thats build on my personal opinion

What would be the specs of the full system, but yes. I would go for a i5-8400 (/8500)as it's in my opinion the better gaming chip

For me yes, But I mainly play racing games. G-Sync will help you counteract a lot of that, the worst in my opinion are FPS fluctuations, so just get them stable. 60 is generally with g-sync good but that's something you have to find out yourself.
this is also a good refrence

A 1070ti won't give you stable 144fps in 1440p, I would  take a look at these benchmarks, but you'll get sth above 60 stable  (https://www.gamersnexus.net/hwreviews/3109-nvidia-gtx-1070-ti-review-strategic-play-ft-colorful/page-2)if you want higher fps you need a higher tier card

The new GPUs from Nvidia are expected sometime around q2-q3 this year so if you can wait i would wait
The ti cards are always a step more, not right the next but close to it. I've even seen a 980ti outperfom a Titan X maxwell.
The 1070(ti) is in my opinion the sweetspot for 1440p- The 1080(ti) will just give you a better experience with more fps but for more money

Depends if you go for 4k you will notice it, also if you use it for rendering. In gaming it depends on your budget and the resolution. Or if you just want to have high fps on max settings all the time (or more stable)
Newegg/amazon you'll have to look for the cheapes offering, I would go for a custom PCB if possible if you arent getting any advante from the blower style cooler or watercooling it. Just take a look at trusted shops, maybe ones where you already bought from. I wouldn't get a card from ebay

The power isn't an issue. Check the bios that the igpu is set to disable when you put a gpu in. Make sure you are using the black slot, it looks like the only x16 full bandwidth slot.

thelordofwarr got a reaction from Lord Athetos in Why would a system be stable in a stress test but randomly restart during games?
Sometimes overclocks are like that, they can pass days of stresstesting adn then crash when watching a youtube video. Maybe you hit a thermal limit? My overclock is stable in nearly everything I throw at it, except when I watch the LadyLike video about painting with period blood, then it chrashes, every time I click on it. Did you already tried just resetting the CMOS and then getting too the overclock in small steps again? (tbh I just think my CPU wants to discriminate people)

thelordofwarr got a reaction from Technous285 in Where to Put My Drain Valve W/ Bottom Rad?
I would put a T-fitting before the outlet of the radiator (or the lowest port) and then the drain valve and then a simple plug on the valve just that it can't leak. At least the chance of leaks are closer

thelordofwarr got a reaction from johnukguy in PC wont boot!!! Need help
Try booting with one stick of ram at a time and try both slots. Also take a look at your Motherboard Manual, it will say to you what the beep codes mean. Motherboard manuals are always a good place to start, also try reseating the GPU.
