  1. Thanks. I'll keep calling the ISP, otherwise i think switching is the only way. I have tried on a different PC (different OS and platform AMD/Intel) also tried on my laptop, it was the exact same issue.
  2. Yeah, I'm assuming there's something happening related to this, however, I don't know how to troubleshoot or even begin to explain a process to get it "fixed". I've tried changing download region to all over different places, I also tried New York (I'm not from the US), the result is the same. It caps me at 20-23 MB/s. Yes, I've tried being on WiFi, it doesn't change the speeds. The only thing that "helps" the speeds is being on the VPN.
  3. I've attached a screenshot of my situation when it's stuck at around 22 MB/s, CPU is just chilling and so is the SSD. I forgot to mention, it's a Samsung 970 Pro.
  4. Hi! Yes, none of the limiters is set. I did also see somebody mentioning this exact thing, I tried to set the "limit" to 10 GB/s, it did not change anything.
  5. Hi. This might be a giant wall of text, but TLDR: I'm trying to download stuff off Steam and I'm for whatever reason being capped around 20-23 MB/s regardless of what i do. This has occured out of no where. I'm sitting on a 1000/500 connection and I'm able to download off Epic Games/Battle.net (example) with either +90 or 100 MB/s without any issues. I have attempted to use a VPN while downloading on Steam and suddenly there isn't any issue. I'm getting the 100 MB/s download speed that I "normally" had. I'm sorry if this all sounds extremely privileged, but it's bugging the hell out of me and I cannot figure out what's the issue. I am on a Windows 11 system, AMD based. MSI X670E Tomahawk board (It's a Realtek 2.5 GbE chip, I doubt this matters, but figured I'd include it). Full spec list: Windows 11 (64bit), 22H2 version MSI X670E Tomahawk, BIOS 1.41 (07/03/2023) AMD 7800x3d Asus RTX 2080 Ti 32GB G.Skill 6000MHz CL30 2x Samsung 970 Pro (not in raid). Corsair RM1000e 1000/500 connection Things I've tried: I have reinstalled Steam, I've changed the installation area of Steam (both SSDs), I've changed download regions all over Europe, nothing changes in that regard (still caps at the 20-23 MB/s). I've checked CrystalDiskMark, no issues. The only program I have in the background is MSI Afterburner (I've also tried to close this if somehow this should be the issue, no changes). My Router i believe to be working, since Epic/Battle.net works just fine without the VPN. Firewall is allowing Steam. I've checked for Malware, none. I've tried factory resetting the router, no change there. I've tried changing the cable, also made no difference. Cleared Download Cache, App cache. Tried Google/Cloudflare DNS and my own ISP also, didn't change either. Removed/reinstalled the Realtek driver (newest). I'm unsure of where to go from here. I've contacted my ISP, they say they've never heard of an issue with Steam being blocked (or being slow). Steam support was also not very helpful and asked me to contact a local repair store for "repair". I assume this is a standard copy paste reply. Is there a way to locate an IP of the download server of Steam to run a tracert in order to perhaps look for a bad jump? If anybody has any ideas, I would love to hear them.
  6. I would imagine after 2½ years of use, the pads are going to be squished real nice. In my mind, measuring them in that case wouldn't be much better. However it will be a solid last option There a lot of people like scotty who's done it before, so hopefully they're able to share their findings.
  7. Good to hear. Very steep interms of price, but heck, I'm keeping the card for a while longer so ill buy the Ultra Extreme ones. Hopefully they'll serve me well. Thank you very much again.
  8. Thank you for the information. You had no contact issues with 1mm on the VRM or any heat issues? I was looking at the Fujipoly pads, would you say they are worth the price? I saw a lot of people praising them.
  9. Hi, I have been trying desperately to find out the thickness of the thermal pads for the G1 Gaming, I emailed Gigabyte last week (Wednesday), didn't get a response yet. Not sure if it will just get ignored or perhaps they're very busy (or maybe they're looking into it) either way, i thought i would try ask here, maybe there is somebody who might be able to help me. I found a clip off a YouTube video which displays the thermal pads somewhat, but i can't really tell the thickness out well: https://i.imgur.com/jcuFB1X.jpg / https://i.imgur.com/Yk97qfN.jpg It's from this video (First 20-30 seconds): By somewhat eyeballing it, my best guess is the vRAM pads are 1.5-2mm and the VRM are 0.5-1mm - If anybody has any input, I'd love it. Kind regards I found a picture of a 980 (non-Ti) G1 Gaming, the thickness may differ, I don't know for sure, the design is very similar https://imgur.com/qIK3lnW Edit: For anybody looking for the outcome, I used 1mm for VRM and 1.5mm for vRAM. Ultra Extreme Fujipoly pads, been doing well.
  10. Interesting. Thanks for the tip That's pretty good man, looks good too I fully agree, it's one of the main reasons i want to get it under water. I hate the fucking fans when they ramp up :-P Appreciate the advice. Very nice temps, I go from Res/Pump > 280 > CPU > Back currently, adding the GPU would be CPU > 140mm > GPU > Res/Pump.
  11. Thank you! What kind of temps do you get on that loop with the single 360mm, if you don't mind me asking? Thank you! I'm kind of worried in that regard, I'm using a Nemesis 280 GTS due to the limited space and it's handling the CPU on its own quite well currently. I don't think it will be able to handle the 980 Ti ontop unless i turn the fan speeds way up (I'd really prefer not to do that for obvious reasons :P) Oh i see, my setup would be a 280mm (thin) and the 140mm (thick), I assume as W-L suggested, turning up the fan speeds on the 280mm would help a bit too. I'm actually just worried that my current temps on the CPU will take a big hit due to this, so im a little hesitant.
  12. Hi, I'm currently using a 280mm radiator to cool my CPU only. However, i may have to re-done some stuff soon which means that opens up the possibility for adding the GPU onto the loop too. However, I am quite sure the 280mm on its own would most likely not work very well. Therefor, I am wondering if anybody has tried using a thick 140mm radiator (HWLabs Nemesis 140 GTX)? I can't imagine it will make things a lot better but surely it would not hurt, (ps: limited space in mind, don't think i could fit a 240mm or 280mm extra) so i am wondering if it's a terrible idea and i should just keep the CPU loop by itself. If anybody has any suggestions or ideas, I'd love to hear from you.
