Thank you for the clarification. I have noticed that a lot of the Strix graphics cards have become unavailable lately. I don't really plan on doing any 4k gaming, I just want an upgrade from what I have at the moment. But if 15-25% is really all the difference, then it doesn't sound like I really need to upgrade my choice.

I am building my first custom rig and couldn't be happier, but I have this particular GPU in mind for my new rig and I'm starting to notice a lot more of the Ti units around. I don't know much about the differences between a normal 1080 and 1080ti gpu. Could someone possibly explain it all to me and then tell me if upgrading my pick to a 1080ti is a good idea? Current rig: ASRock Extreme 4 Z370 mobo Corsair H100i v2 Liquid cooling Intel i7 8700k 3.7Hz 6 core processor G.Skill Ripjaws V 16gb(2 x 8gb sticks) DDR4 3333 Sandisk SSD Plus 240gb SeaSOnic 550w 80+ gold psu 1tb HDD and possibly a Asus ROG Strix 1080 8gb gpu
