Why should the price increase at all? It's not like that has happened consistently across all the top end cards across 6+ generations, I strongly object to the notion that it's newer or faster means increase in cost. There might be actual cost increases that justify some kind of increase this time due to how large the die is however a general no, the price should not increase on the top end card just because it's top end or new or faster. That is advocating for pricing that are in no way tied to actual cost of product and also for pricing runaway far above inflation.

Price is justified with cost not performance, I will allow for some performance cost weighting but price should always be grounded by costs.

Just because you like 4K @ 60Hz doesn't mean that OP will like it. It looks like hes looking for a 144Hz display of which there currently aren't any 4K ones. It's fantastic that you found something you like, but it doesn't appear to be what hes looking for.

@thesonyuh I would look at either the Dell S2417DG, or S2716DGR. They're both minimalistic monitors with fantastic features. If you can overlook the fact that they're TN, they are fantastic. I ran IPS/VA panels for the better part of the past 4 years, and expected to hate my S2417DG. I even recently tried to go 3440x1440 VA 100Hz, but still couldn't give up my S2417DG. They are very affordable since they are TN, and the colors are still well within reason. They also have G-Sync within your budget which should be a plus. I personally like the 24 inch since the PPI is higher, and really you get used to using the size eventually anyways, but as you are looking for a 27" the S2716DGR should work just fine. I would also expect this to be available in your region. Amazon link here even though you can't order from it:

Thank you for the info :).  In general, I just use the cooler that comes with the CPU.

With that said, I think I will just wait it out and see what really comes out and then go from there.

Thank you for the video, now I got a better understanding of what TDP is all about

And to everyone else, thank you for your comments on this subject

"The thermal design power (TDP), sometimes called thermal design point, is the maximum amount of heat generated by a computer chip or component"

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thermal_design_power

You're looking at a bit more heat coming out of the 2700x opposed to the CPU you currently have. That is why you by coolers rated for the TDP of CPU's.

Here you can see in the title this CPU cooler supports 500W+ TDP:
    https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835214081

Thus it has the potential to handle 500W of heat. Some other cheaper coolers may not handle that much heat. That being said 105W is only a bit more than average this day in age. The Pentium 4 CPU's were 100W if i recall, and X99 chips ran up to 140W (5820K). If you have any aftermarket cooler that costed more than $40 then it will be able to handle 105W TDP.

You could probably flash another BIOS on the card, but you'd be doing that for minimal gains. Very very few cards hit above 2100Mhz. I'd say you might gain 25mhz if you flash the other BIOS. IMO not worth it. You'd need to download nvflash, and have someone backup their BIOS from another card that has a higher limit, like your Aorus. I think the factory overclocked STRIXX might have a higher power target than your card if you have the non-OC one. So that might be the most viable one if you decide you really need that extra 25mhz.

Eh, Ive had accounts in both places for a while now.

The change in the layout hasn't pushed me here as much as simply not being on the bleeding edge currently.  I very rarely use any of OCN's threads outside of clubs and news, where here I tend to hang around to LARP as tech support. <_<

Except it's, you know, produced with different fabrication node, so unless they took those binned 1600s, melted the silicon and reused it to make the 2600s, I don't think you understand what binning means.

Guys, if you're considering on buying this from Massdrop, consider these options:

It's $50 more, BUT at least it will be at your doorstep by next week instead of 2018, when prices will probably have already dropped. Also, it's missing an inch, big whoop right?

What do you guys think of these alternatives?

Yep, it was a RAM stability problem, I'm able to reach 3,200MHz with 1.4V but once the memories succesfuly pass stress test when I play games sttuters appear, so I decided to return to an older BIOS version (F5a) and now everything is runing perfectly I can play without any FPS drops. Thank you!

You should be aware that most of the latency across the internet isn't because of "light speed". It is because of the time it takes for the router, switch, or firewall to process the packet, and decide where to send it.

Look at it t his way. Light travels at 299,792,458 m/s while the diameter of Earth is only 12,742,000 meters. It would take a packet 40ms to travel the entire Earth, however you see latency from the US to the Philippines at like 250ms. Why? Because the firewall policies take time to process. Honestly, if you are gaming in New York, and accessing a server in Chicago to game on the Light latency would be like 7ms.

(Keep in mind that at 60 FPS that's a frame every 16.67ms. So really you aren't even losing a frame in latency from New York to Chicago.)

Take it from a network engineer.
