My only guess is maybe the audio chip isn't well grounded/isolated from the rest of the components. Maybe try this with the motherboard out of the case?

You can't saw off your number pad off a membrane keyboard and expect it to continue functioning as it's a closed circuit. Sawing off a portion of the keyboard will create an open circuit. 

leave it unplugged for like 10 minutes to an hour. sometime it takes a while for the juice to completely leave the board. also check nearby components for any signs of burning.

Once the head is crimped, you can't reuse it. You'll have to get a crimp kit with a set of heads if you really want to reuse that cable. Otherwise it's irreparable, those cables are delicate and they wrap around each other for EMI protection.

Are you folding on your videocard too?
If so, your OS needs 1 core and each videocard in your system also needs a core. So it makes sense on your four core CPU, that at least two cores are not folding.

Then its most likley a GPU bottleneck. That mx150 isnt super strong. Whats the utilization on the rest of the pc when playing?

It's one of my favorite designs we've ever done, tbh, but it's not 2019-friendly.

Yes, it will work, more than likely out of the box. It's a midrange to high end board so the VRMs should be ample enough to run it but don't expect crazy overclocks. Usually when a board is around for so long they send them out with updated BIOS chips so the chance you'll need a BIOS update are slim to none.

It does vary based on cost of living in the area you live.
 
At least in the southern part of the US a computer technician can make 35-45k a year. Maybe slightly less for entry level since there is nothing to draw on from the past.
My fist tech job was about 37k, but I also had to do a bit of driving around every once in a while.
