  1. Hello, My AOC 32G1 recently fell off the desk and cracked the LCD. I've looked around and there's no replacement panel anywhere, and when I called the only service place in my country (Slovenia) they said it would cost almost as much as buying a new monitor... Is there anything I can do in this situation but buy a new monitor? I really liked this one I'd want to keep using it if I can repair it...
  2. Hello, I have no clue what happened honestly, maybe i ran into the cable and broke the port. I have a HDMI 1.4 port on my RX 480 and from what I can tell, pin 19 is totally gone broke off, pin 18, 17 and 16 are bent as the plastic that was holding it broke. I tried adjusting it with a needle or whatever, this worked for a while but then due to mechanical force from whatever it stopped working and I can't get it to work again. The problem I have is I want to play VR on my oculus rift, but the HDMI port is now broken, I have a DP to HDMI port but it's a low quality cheap one and it doesn't work. Problem number 2 I have a 144hz monitor, where surprisingly enough the DP broke clean off, so now I'm stuck here no VR and no high refresh rate. What can I do short of replacing the GPU or a new dongle Thanks
  3. You are correct, I forgot how laptops have shared cooling, so I ran a stress test on both the gpu and cpu and it thermal throttled alot, below 2.0GHz on the cpu
  4. Yeah but under a constant 100% load in AIDA64 it never thermal throttled and the clock speed was always max boost clock
  5. This happens when I run Heaven Benchmark, it works perfectly fine. The only thing that I've noticed is that when Cod is running the CPU clock speed drops to 2.0GHz, now that is very low and might as well be what is bottlenecking the cpu, so how do I make it not drop the clock speed? There is no cpu multiplier in bios to keep it at boost clock constantly. Odd thing is also that when I run an AIDA64 Stress Test on the CPU, It doesn't thermal throttle, stays at about 83-85 degrees and always at 3.4GHz which is the boost clock. I'm looking at intel extreme tuning utility but I don't know what settings to mess with, there is again no core multiplier
  6. How is that the limiting factor, its not maxed out yet I'm thinking that's not the problem because my friend has another laptop with the exact same spec and he's running as well as I am on my PC Pic related is my laptop
  7. I figured something wasn't right so I was checking load % on msi afterburner, never went over 40%
  8. Okay so the problem I'm having is I have an I7-8750 and a GTX 1060 laptop, and when I run the game (warzone) it doesn't utilise either the igpu or dedicated gpu, as in the game runs like garbage, lowest settings and it barely gets to 30 and stutters alot. My audio is also stuttering on the laptop (Acer Predator PH317-51). What I've tried: Changing windows graphics setting to high performance on modern warfare Changing power options to high performance Changing default gpu in nvidia control panel in the cod profile and the 3d settings Checked in game settings and the 1060 is selected Increased page file size Checked for any bios options, the bios is barebones and doesn't have any options I'd need Freshly reinstalled drivers Updated bios That's about it, I've no idea what is wrong with the game or my laptop but it just won't work properly, also on my PC that has a R5 1600x and an RX 480 I get 60-90 fps constant, so what gives I've got no idea how to continue from this, I get the feeling something in the computer is broken, any help would be greatly appreciated.
  9. Okay well I don't have that equipment nor access to it rip, should I just use warranty? Will that work?
  10. Okay so I bought this aoc monitor a while back, 1080p 144hz but I just now got a new gpu that had display port, so after the first time plugging it in it didn't work, so I unplugged it and the port literally fell off the PCB. I wanna know what I can do in this situation, is it possible to resolder it? And if so do I need any special equipment?
  11. Hello, First of all my specs: R5 1600x Gigabyte GA-AB350M-GAMING 3 2x Gskill Ripjaws 8GB DDR4 120GB Crucial ssd (brand new) 2tb hard drive RX 480 8G Okay so I've done some troubleshooting myself, but let me explain the issue, so I was playing 7 days 2 die with my buddies when my pc froze up completely. I reset the power and booted back to a windows error that the file in windows was missing and it wouldn't boot, reinstalled windows and set up a correct boot order ( which was wrong for some reason, probably causing the boot error,,before this I cleared the cmos too). I boot back into windows and it lags like hell, like I install what I needed and started watching a show on VLC, and the show would freeze for a solid 30 sec and the resume for 5 and in a loop like this. So I put another kit of ram in (Corsair vengeance LPX which I don't have access to anymore) and it seemed to work fine, I put my kit in the other pc and it kept freezing. So I removed one of my sticks and it worked fine. So I moved just one of my sticks back to my pc, and it was freezing again, tried with the other stick, no dice still freezing. Now I'm waiting to get back from work to do a memtest to see if the ram broke ( it was bought around a year ago new, but I lost the receipt so I can't rma it). Anyone got any other ideas on what could be wrong? Thanks
  12. Thanks for the reply, so to respond first off, the build is sponsored, so there is no real cost to me (but everything has to be bought in Slovenia), On the CPU, I was thinking with going with the 1st gen, but the price difference is less than 100 so I didn't really think about it, as I'd rather it have the newer gen, and performance is also better. Ram: I'll try to see if I find something, thanks. Boot drive: The reason I'm thinking optane is that if both VMs access from the same drive at the same time, optane has alot better speed with that as far as I'm aware. mass storage: I looked into the mx500's but they seem alot slower than the samsung ssd? Am I missing something? I am looking at the m.2 version of mx500. psu: thanks for the advice, changed to the "THERMALTAKE Toughpower Grand RGB 850W Gold".
  13. Hello, So I'm in my last year of high school and I've gotta build a PC, so I decided to go all out and do a unRaid 2 gamers 1 cpu build, but with hardline watercooling, but I need some help as it's my first time watercooling a PC. So the specs in mind are as follows: CPU: AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2950X MOBO: GIGABYTE X399 AORUS Gaming 7 RAM: CORSAIR RAM Vengeance LPX 32GB (this one is not 100%) Boot drives for VMs: Intel Optane SSD 900P 480GB (x1) Mass storage for VMs: SAMSUNG SSD disk 970 PRO 512GB (x2) PSU: 850W Thermaltake Smart PRO 80+ Bronze GPU: ASUS Cerberus GeForce GTX1070Ti AE (x2, planning on going with these ones as EKWB are readily available since they make in this country, other RGB gpu models are out of stock) CPU Waterblock: EK-Supremacy sTR4 RGB - Nickel GPU Waterblock: EK-FC1070 GTX Ti ASUS RGB - Nickel This is all I got planned for now, if you're wondering why all these RGB parts, well I need to present and defend my build to a jury to then get the final grade of the year (the most important one). Now the issue I'm facing is, what case do I put all of this in (would prefer to be tempered glass for the visuals). The case itself is not an issue, as I've never worked with watercooling, I don't really know how radiators work, I mean I know how they work and I know the basics of making a hardline loop, but I don't know what I'm supposed to be looking out for in the case, as I'm probably going to need 2 big radiators to cool all of that. If anyone could assist me, that would be greatly appreciated.
  14. Which would mean jumper cable, any other way to do it perhaps? And no getting a GPU without external power is not an option.
