  1. I've recently picked up an i5-10600k for a new ITX gaming build. I don't plan on overclocking (chose the K version because it was on a big sale), but I do plan on using some high frequency RAM (3600MHz Corsair Vengeance). I have ordered the ASUS ROG Strix B460-I because it is roughly ~$100 less than a Z490 board. I know on the B460 boards they are limited at max memory speed of 2933MHz and obviously cannot overclock. I was just wondering will the limit on the RAM speed have a big effect on my performance in games? and will this cause throttling via higher VRM temps?
  2. I didn't, I took it out completely just because there was no room. The only storage in the system are the two SSD's on the power supply shroud.

  4. I think I'm going to go with an RM series by Corsair. Sorry I should have been more clear, my plan is to remove both of the HDD cages and mount my 2TB in the 5.25" bay. It seems really good, but do you know if the sticker is removable? I dont like the yellow
  5. I know that I will give better performance, but to me it doesn't make sense wasting more money on more GPU or CPU horsepower that might not even be needed. I'm thinking this is the way to go, a 970 and a lower i7 should be enough to play all the new games. I don't think I will be switching to a higher resolution for a while. I think I will downgrade to a 970 after reading everyones replies. That PSU has a bracket to fit ATX so there is no problem. I was wondering if there is a better solution for the PSU though, I'm going for silence so the reason I chose that is because of the semi-fanless mode. Are there any other good ATX fully-modular semi-fanless power supples? I think I will stick with the NZXT cooler because it will keep my CPU cooler and I can just put the rad on the front 140 intake.
  6. Sorry I forgot to mention that I already have a 2TB hard drive that I will use for mass storage.
  7. Here is the planned part list for my new build, my goal is to be able to build a powerful, compact and relatively silent PC. I will be using it for mainly gaming and not too many heavily threaded applications. How did I do? I personally think I could downgrade the CPU slightly as it could possibly be overkill, but I am curious to hear others thoughts. 8. I'm sorry but I cant make any promises! I will be selling this rig and building a tiny M-ITX more practical system (might do a build log), although that motherboard looks fantastic and really is what this build was missing. Yeah I get what you're saying! Thanks for the compliments I would give it to you but I didn't make it to scale unfortunately, I just used it to represent where the parts would go.
  9. Thanks! Oh believe me I would love to! Unfortunately those things aren't free It's killing me too haha! Seriously thanks though
  10. This is the 1 biggest thing I would like to change about this build, unfortunately as I have said before I can't justify spending money on a new mobo when the one I have works perfectly Haha thanks!
  11. Hey everyone! First of all I'd like to apologize for the long wait for the final pics for this build, I have been extremely busy recently and just haven't had the time to get around to it. So without further ado, may I present Project Contrast (A.K.A Creamsicle)! I am glad to be finally done this build! There are only a couple things I would change about it, the first is improving the paint job (there are couple areas where it is imperfect) and secondly get a motherboard that matches the color scheme. Overall I am very happy with it considering it is my first ever water-cooled build! Thanks to everyone who supported the project and stuck with me!
  12. Why? Custom water cooling would only add the extra load of the pump which isn't much.
  13. Just tried that, still no luck.. maybe I didn't heat it up enough but I'm worried about heating it up too much and warping it.
  14. I purchased two identical packs of the Primochill clear rigid acrylic tubing, along with a rubber tube for bending. The bending cord slid in really easily for the first pack almost not requiring a lubricant. I used all of the tubing in the first pack so I had to open the second one (both packs are identical) and the rubber tube is extremely difficult to fit inside the tubes in the new pack. I can only get it about an inch inside with my pushing as hard as I can. I tried using olive oil to help but still no luck.
  15. There was barely even clearance to mount it at all, I was originally going to have it in pull but the rad wouldn't fit so I was forced to use push.
