    probook 445/455 G7 (14vs15) witha 4700U you can get 4-32gb ram (I'd get a single 8 or 16gb and and another) 1 m.2slot and 1 2.5in bay.
    1080p 250nit screen is a good one.
I own and have made a review of the last gen 445R G6 with a 3500U
my 1 complant is the small 45WH battery
this would be my config i'd order
replace the HDD with a SATA SSD if you need space but really just get a good NVME drive for less than HP price get an extra 8gb stick of DDR4

ordered from HP in USD is 885$ and then with another 150-200$ spent should be great

You should be looking at AMD Renoir. Intel is entirely irrelevant in laptops at the moment

Well, look at why you're looking at a 2015 model and realize that you're far from the only one to want a non-new mac but that doesn't have a broken keyboard
High demand will keep prices up.

No more than $1000. If it's the really high end model, that can be stretched a little bit.

The neighborhood of $1200 seems to be the going rate though; the 2015 MBPs hold their value fairly well.

I got an XPS13 9300 (the new one) and i had it 3 days before the trackpad started acting up stopping randomly and having the cursor glitch about the place. So far i haven't heard of anyone else having this problem.

I'm currently in the process for returning for a refund, thinking of buying the 13" MacBook Pro. I know Macs are expensive but its worth it for the build quality.

I just got a 7590. I know the new one is here, but I need standard USB and its a mutch better value since prices are goind down. I used 2 XPS 15-s before (on of the was a precision m3800, but its in a xps body). I had no problems, and I used m3800 ofr 4 years, there was no scratch on it and I didnt even used a case for it (but Im gonna cover my new one with dbrand, it looks freaking good in my opinion), idk why but they re really scratchresistant for aluminium. The one problem I had was a RAM failure, thats all (it wasnt the factory RAM if I remember correctly).
I was thining about the macbook too, but I need raw performance (civil engi) and its mutch better for that, not even speaking about light gaming (maybe on xps13 too)

I'd say USD. You might not get a grand but might as well list it at that much.

I use HWinfo64. Doesn't have onscreen display but that is fine.

MSI also works well as stated above.

As far as temps, most laptops I see run between 70s-90s on temps. They just run hot and there isn't much you can do about it.

Discord is accessing audio device when it loads. You can select which device you use with it. If you select same as what is set default, it should be all good.

My audio cuts when I connect USB mic as it's counted both mic and headphones by Windows.

have you disabled any audio outputs that you're not using? I only use one speaker at a time so all of my audio devices are disabled in windows audio control panel.

Oh, absolutely.  A top exhaust fan in front of the CPU cooler will indeed remove cold air that would otherwise have been able to help cool the CPU.
The one above the cooler will not help much either, it only disrupts the clean " front intake -> cooler -> rear exhaust " pathway that you'd otherwise have.

People keep telling me I'm crazy though, so I'm happy that someone else notices the exact same thing I did.

Wait for launch of Zen 2. If you cant wait, go last gen and grab an 8700k instead. But waiting for Zen 2 is the best choice right now. Launch is at 7th/7th launching their 7nm CPUs, (yes clever)

Also grab 3000mhz memmory, its where the sweetspot is at.

Then it sounds like a voltage issue.  I'm not an Intel overclocker, but I can google.

It could be your CPU overclock then.  I would assume it's that above bad RAM at this point.

I don't know how long Zen2 takes to be available, my guess would be rather short than long. Wich means something like March or April for availability. That's only a guess take it with a sack of salt.

Wait for Zen 2. AMD will announce the new chips in less than two weeks, however it may be months before they get on the market.

But I think it's worth the wait because a 16 core 4.7GHz CPU for $500 sounds sweet.

I just read into it and apparently they prevent voltages from exceeding your set vcore when using an offset. Thanks for your help!

RocketJump reacted to xg32 in Help With 8700k OC
the offset on my boards at least affects the idle voltage and everything in between, so if the idle voltage is too low or you go from a high usage area (4.7 stable at 1.27-1.3v) then go to a low usage area (i'm guessing here, 3.6 0.95v) then it might not be stable, and since you are using a -0.11 offset i'd say that's likely. So you need to find a less aggressive offset that works all voltages/speeds (you'll have to use a llc that pumps out less voltage at full load)
