  1. If LMG needs more time to get their work processes and policies in place, then I'm all for it. It's ready when it's ready typically ends with better results, than trying to hit an arbitrary deadline
  2. SponsorBlock is a must-have for YouTube, given the amount of built-in ads everywhere nowadays
  3. If LMG wants to make Labs an actual thing, i.e. a trusted source for test data, Linus needs to realise the reputation cost of retesting is a whole lot more than $500 of an employee's time. So LMG needs to get out of the tech entertainment mind set, and start to get into a real data driven mindset, where data matters, not just the monetary value of extracting the data. If they can't get that into their heads, then Labs is going to be a failed venture before it even gets started
  4. Hire time-stamp guy for WAN show. Or have someone do the time stamps. I don't know why WAN show still depends on a viewer to do time stamps, especially when WAN show has a dedicated producer
  5. B450 should support 3600 out of the box. whether to update the BIOS is up to you. I tend to wait a month before updating BIOS in case there's something catastrophic with the newest one. But you should keep your chipset drivers updated. You most likely will have to re-activate your Windows either with a product key or software license, depending on what your Windows version is
  6. Ryzen Master should be the most accurate for monitoring AMD CPUs
  7. https://overclock3d.net/reviews/cpu_mainboard/amd_eco_mode_guide_for_am5/1 Answering my own question for anyone interested. Apparently this is just ECO mode with a negative voltage offset in curve optimisation. Not sure why the video used such weird settings. The article above shows the settings defined by AMD for a given TDP
  8. I was trying to follow the settings given in the video but I'm not sure what values to enter for the TDC and EDC limits in the UEFI. The video shows TDC:480A and EDC:640A for his 7700X. But I checked the settings for my 7600X in Ryzen Master, those only show 110A and 170A respectively. Should I follow my Ryzen Master settings?
  9. Thanks. My motherboard arrived and the manual does include mounting instructions for the various Wraith coolers including the Prism. Going to give it a go.
  10. Good luck. That card is 3 strikes. Nvidia, Yeston, Newegg. If anything goes wrong, I'm confident none of them has got your back
  11. it's only a great deal if MWII is the only game you're going to play. Averaging across all techtubers' benchmarks for all games tested, it's basically a wash between the XTX and 4080 in terms of raster. And coupled with the fact AMD AIBs are definitely going to charge more than MSRP, gamers will find the XTX and 4080 basically at the same price at retail. AMD really dropped the ball on this one.
  12. Something probably died. I had this exact same problem on my 1080Ti, it would refuse to boost. I could do everything except play 3D games. Sometimes it would work for a few hours, and then go back down to idle. Fixing it requires some sort of resoldering according to the few bits of info and youtube videos, provided you can identify which component causes the problem
  13. Very underwhelming release by AMD. With this performance, they should have priced both XTX and XT at least $100 less to compete with Nvidia.
  14. My 7600X and motherboard is arriving soon but I'm still getting the AM5 bracket for my AIO. I have a Wraith Prism lying around that could serve as an interim solution. Anyone has tried or know if the Prism cooler with fit on AM5? I know the clips are the same, but not sure about the height. Appreciate if someone that has tried it or know if people who has done it can confirm the option. Couldn't find anything on Google or Reddit. Thanks
  15. This strategy was announced by Jensen way back in September. https://hardforum.com/threads/nvidia-market-manipulation.2021800/ The 4080 is in fact doing EXACTLY what it was meant to do spectacularly, move RTX 3000 cards. And move them it has. Nvidia is laughing all the way to the bank at people buying RTX 3000 cards at 2 years old MSRPs. Once Nvidia clears out the 3000 stock, they can drop the price of the 4080 any time they like, and people will still lap it up. Any 4080 Nvidia sells at this point is a bonus, even if they sold ZERO 4080s, they would still be winning if people are buying RTX3000 cards. The only way Nvidia would have failed is if people not buy any RTX 3000 nor 4000 cards. Or am I the crazy one here?
