  1. Does anyone have any Power Supply recommendations? Also is anyone against using PCie extensions? I have seen them used in ITX builds but I would like to use them in my case. Reasoning: to separate GPU's to hopefully better cool the system & because they wont fit if I don't re route
  2. Thank you! So in the future if I need to increase my memory you are recommending that I purchase HDD drives at 7200?

  4. The H115i won't do it? Also I was told 34gb of ram should be sufficient for video editing. What am I missing? Also thank you for the recommendation!
  5. I posted a thread a couple days ago listing requirements for a pc that I am planning to build here soon. And thanks to some this forum I was able to get a parts list built pretty fast. Now what I would like to do is post the full parts list and double check that it will work with the monitors I plan to purchase as well as run the software I will be using. Hopefully with your help I can get any last tweaks/recommendations out of the way so I can start purchasing some parts. The parts list is as follows: AMD Ryzen Thread Ripper 1950x with H115i cooler bundle MSI x399 Gaming Pro Carbon AC Gigabyte GeForce GTX 980 4GB GDDR5 PCiE x2 Samsung 960 EVO Series - 500GB NVMe - M.2 Internal SSD Team 16GB (2 x 8GB) T-Force Vulcan DDR4 PC4-24000 3000MHz x2 Seagate 2TB FireCuda Gaming SSHD (Solid State Hybrid Drive) - 7200 RPM I also still need a PSU I will be doing a custom case. This will be hopefully able to run two BenQ BL2711U - 27-Inch IPS 4K Monitors, both at 3840x2160. The main software it will be running: Simplify3D, Adobe AfterEffects and Da Vinci Resolve. I am not very up to date with newer computer hardware, which is why I am here. I want to be able to edit and render 4k video which is not possible on my current laptop but Simplify3d is. I hate long load times, so I figured I would bite the bullet and build something that will last for the next couple of years and also be able to play demanding game titles (whenever a decent one comes back out, RIP Hellgate). Hopefully this is enough information to go on. Thanks!
  6. Do you think with the increase in consumer GPU's that it would be smarter to get a pre built machine?
  7. The two main software applications I will be using are: Simplify3d + DaVinci Resolve.
  8. Thank you so much for this. I think overall I am happy with all of this. My one concern is with the GPU. I have been watching reviews on most of these parts and I noticed the Linus has a pretty informative/concerning review on the VEGA F. Do you think that it is still worth it to buy or should I go with something else? It seems like the Nvidia line is pretty solid vs AMD which seems more hit or miss. Thanks again!
  9. Unsure if this was a joke or not. Upon doing a quick research of the Quadro Card it looks like some can actually Display 4k and seem to be pretty decent. What am I missing? Please educate me.
  10. The 3k USD is specifically for the PC. If you have any Monitor recommendations I would love to hear them!
  11. Okay, so I need some help. I have been out of the PC game for quite awhile. I hardly ever game, but I have been wanting to play PUBG with my younger brothers. I would also like to play the new Elder Scrolls whenever it comes out. But I can always just do that on my Xbox One X. My main issue is with 4k Editing. My girlfriend and I have been doing a lot of hiking around the PNW and decided that we want to capture some of the beauty via our new Lumix g7 (ts a 4k camera), Our problem is that my i7 thinkpad can hardly run D-Resolve... Long story short: I would like something that can edit/render 4k video. I have done some research and I really think the Ryzen 7 1700x is probably the best/cheapest for this build; but as far as everything else, especially GPU's, I am at a total loss. CAN ANYONE HELP??? I searched on amazon for some GPUS and about spit my drink everywhere due to their prices.. I have 3,000 to spend. Preferably with sales tax included. I heard you can SLI 780ti's but I want to make sure that its actually a good option. Also, any monitor recommendations?
