  1. Thats the plan. I though hex would fit seeing as I am studying comp engineering and binary would be way to long
  2. As part of a larger tattoo desing I plan on using the phrase "this too shall pass". Seeing as I am not a big fan of plain text in tattoos I tought I would translate the text to hexadecimal code. I know this can be somewhat risky and I therefore thought it best to check if I have the translation right. Does "this too shall pass" translate too "7468697320746f6f207368616c6c2070617373" and is this the correct way of showing it. Sorry if this is is posted in the wrong forum thread, but I thought someone with a bit of coding kowlage probably knew this aswell.
  3. Would windows detect the drives even if I can't read from them. My first priority is to make sure the drives work and aren't dead
  4. I have a Seagate Cloud 2 Bay that has stopped working. The NAS seems to have been running raid 1. Does that mean that i just need to connect one of the drives to my PC in order to get the info off it?
  5. Both are great. Let availability and price be your deciding factor. Both chips will be plenty for you usecase.
  6. I am running an i7 9700k as was wondering if the temp difference I see between the cores are normal? The min core temp has a max difference of 2 degrees celsius, but the max temp has a difference of up to 7 degrees. Is this normal? I have checked that the cooler is attached correctly.
  7. I just got a new OnePlus 10t phone a few days ago. I downloaded a battery / hardware monitoring app to get some more info about my device. According to the battery tab the currently battery capacity of my phone is 4266mA while the design capacity is 4800. Is it really possible that the battery has degraded 12% in just a few days?
  8. I am currently looking to buy a new laptop. I have landed on the Lenovo yoga slim 7, but I'm having some difficulties deciding on which model. One of the issues is that the same laptop seems to be priced widely differently by the same retailer. The only difference I could find was that one comes with windows 11 and one with 10. The model number also seems different. One is 82MS0081MX and one is 82MS003TMX. Can't the windows 10 laptop just be updated to Windows 11 or are there other differences? 82MS003TMX: https://www.elkjop.no/product/pc-datautstyr-og-kontor/datamaskiner/barbar-pc/lenovo-yoga-slim-7-pro-r7h16512-14-barbar-pc/304563#specifications 82MS0081MX: https://www.elkjop.no/product/pc-datautstyr-og-kontor/datamaskiner/barbar-pc/lenovo-yoga-slim-7-pro-r7h16512-14-barbar-pc/389811
  9. A hammer might not be the best option, but is there another, less brute force, tool I can use to narrow down the search.
  10. My PC randomly wakes from sleep. I am 99% sure that the wifi card is the culprit. When I turn off "allow this device to turn on the PC" the issue seems to stop. The issue is that this is something I need for wake on WLAN. Is the another solution to this problem?
  11. Thanks. Weird that Lenovo would do this. Would think that the structural integrity of the display would be better if they connected the hinge.
  12. I have been using my new lenovo legion s7 for a little over a week now and just noticed that the left hinge appers to be missing a pin. On the right hinge the the laptop is connected to the screen on both sides while on the left hinge the hinge appers to only be connected to the screen on the right side of the hinge. In the attached picture it's a little hard to make out, but nothing seems to be between the hinge and the screen. Is this a product defect or an intentional design choice?
  13. Than should I maybe try to find a laptop with the newer ryzen 5700u?
  14. I'm trying to decide between to laptops. The Lenovo yoga slim 7 comes with the option of an amd ryzen 4700u and and Intel i7 1165g7. The only difference besides the cpu is that the i7 model comes with thunderbolt 4. They are close enough in price that it's isn't a deciding factor. Witch one should i choose?
  15. Ii have a laptop that I use for school work and a desktop that I use for gaming and other hardware intensive tasks. I am trying to figure out how I could connect my laptop to the same two monitors, keyboard and mouse as my desktop without having to unplug and plug back in everything each time.
  16. I'll be studying computer engineering next semester. In preparation for this I want to get familiar with one of the coding languages that I will be using. Should I start with c++ or python? I have some knowledge about javascript, but not much more coding experience than this.
  17. So is it safe to store for a long time without the battery getting damaged?
  18. The battery hasn't been in a phone. I have no idea what amount of chargege it has. I haven't done anything with it since I purchased it as a spare part.
  19. I have a replacement battery for my Oneplus 8 that I don't think I'll need to use for about a year. Are there any precautions I have to take while storing it?
  20. I am about to go to university where I will have a very limited budget. Because of this I won't be able to upgrade my phone for a couple of years. I would like to have a replacement battery at the ready since this is what I usually notice getting worse the fastest.
  21. I am trying to find s replacement battery for my Oneplus 8t KB2003. I haven't had any luck do far. Does anyone know a place where I could order one?
  22. Could the use of a vpn stop games from beeing blocked in that case?
  23. Well the rent I pay covers the UNI wifi so not exactly free, but yes using mobile data is something I am trying to avoid. Living as a student costs a lot (even in Norway) and our data plans here can be quite expensive.
  24. If the things that the Uni does will effect my ability to play online games on PC? Maybe a stupid question, but it is quit important for me to have a place where I can stay in touch with my friends when I move to a new city.
