  1. You'd be much better off looking at the prosumer/ workstation offerings from intel or AMD, they will have the right amount of pcie lanes for you, rather than having to stress about not having enough
  2. Tbf waiting isn't an awful idea... Not for the Intel cards, that's just dumb.. Nvidia have just dropped the 20 series, as soon as the 2060, 2050 etc come out the Pascal counterparts should drop in price somewhat I've heard of AMD dropping Navi relatively soon, which again would drop prices of some gfx cards
  3. Most cases you're right but the models in looking at both have: Ryzen 5 2500u 8gb ram 256gb ssd It's just the 330s is cheaper but has less battery and a bigger screen Idk if more battery, slightly less weight and somewhat better build is worth £160
  4. Title says it all, identical specs apart from the 330s is 15.6 inch and has less battery life 530s is £629 I can get the 330s for £469 Anyone know if the quality of the 530s is worth the extra £160?
  5. It'll probably be a case of it needing the 2x8 but not the 6, sort of like mobos with 2 8pin eps plugs but only needs one
  6. Hello, I (like many) know lots about pc hardware, I also consider myself quite knowledgeable about laptops over £1200, unfortunately now I'm going to uni and simply cannot shell out that much I've got about £750 to play with (closer to 700) Is there any knowledge of the Lenovo ideapad 530s with the Ryzen 5 2500u? It has 8 GB ram, upgradable 256gb ssd Bluetooth Backlit keyboard Under 2kg 1080p screen Is there any real world experience with this? I'm studying computer science so programming and vms will be the most I will be doing. I'd only like to really buy from pc world(Currys) or Amazon and I guess large scale shops in the UK... Thanks for any help
  7. im not sure on performance uplift but i will say that polaris is a compute based architecture and as such will "age" better
  8. in terms of threads the i5 2500k has 4? so yeah the 2400g would be an upgrade but i will always stick my guns with a 1600
  9. the 1070 is a 1440p card so if you intend to play at that resolution then go for the 1070, ktherwose the 1060 is great
  10. the 1060 you put is a price error through amazon its actually 289 rather than 235 and i dont like mATX plus i said i have an ssd if its a better unit then ill go for the G2, as I said i dont know too much about psus
  11. someone would probably buy at 500 easily, you will be lowballed though..
  12. before reviewing the list consider the following: the 1600 is £134 which is an absolute steal. i know nithing about psus and dont really mind modularity or not, just picked one i know is decent. I have an ssd(crucial mx300 275gb) budget is 900 but lower is better yanno? 13. how did your build come out to 1850? for 1850 you could get a 1080ti with a 144hz monitor?
  14. im looking to upgrade to one of the aforementioned cpus, i have a mATX h81 board so k skus arent really worth the extra muns, what would you pay for a used i5 46xx(k) or a used i7 47xx(k) or any i7/i5 on lga 1150 tbh, i currently have an i3 4170 and will be getting a 1050ti
  15. i get around 45 fps on siege with decent settings with the 750ti so i was hoping for at least 60 on the same settings? also i get around 90 to 100 fps on ow on lower settings.
