  1. Haha we are our own nation, even part of the EU. Anyways, I still require the laptop for work as it does work, its just the battery that is completely dead, so I'll figure out how to get the battery mailed. Waiting on HP right now, worst case scenario I'll have it fixed by them by hopefully it does not need to come to that.
  2. Understood, thanks for the information! I will get in contact with HP support as I am finding it a bit tricky to figure out how to get a part to Malta, especially since the precise model of my laptop seems to be a bit odd, however I'm sure the battery is a bit standard, but who knows.
  3. Hello, I possess a HP ENVY x360 Convertible 15-dr1xxx (according to dmidecode), and am in dire need of a new battery. I have no issue executing the replacement myself, the videos of HP show the dissassembly (till the point of the battery) and it seems to be quite straightforward. I however am not too sure where to acquire said battery, I am from Malta, which may prove to cause problems. Btw, some more information regarding the laptop: the serial-number is 8CG9525L2M, and sku-number is 8AK23EA#ABH. Might anyone have any suggestions on where I'd be able to get the battery from please? I already tried using the HP part finder site, however to no avail.
  4. https://odysee.com/ "Odysee is a blockchain-based media platform. We host all kinds of media such as images, articles, PDFs, audio files, etc., but we're best known for hosting videos. Odysee seeks to recapture the spirit of the 2000s internet. Rather than favoring corporate content such as late night talk shows, network television, and TV news, Odysee is a place for everyone, including independent creators." (https://help.odysee.tv/category-basics/whatisodysee/) We see a lot of video regarding what exists in the hardware world, software too, but not really online services. This might not be the end-game whatsoever, but it is a look into what the future of the internet may look like. I think it would be a great addition to look into such services in general, such as ActivityPub (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ActivityPub), Matrix (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matrix_(protocol)) and a lot more that might redefine the inner workings of a good portion of the online world. Would also be awesome to see all your videos on odysee too X) (using their youtube-sync)!
  5. I've asked and was told that it initially worked (based on the fact there was no warning in the beginning). I see, so is it normal for a fan to behave in such a manner when mechanical failure is at fault? i.e. turns on for a moment and then stops completely. Where would you suggest getting a fan from (I live in France)? I dont mind taping it on or something if I cannot find a match but the thickness would have to be the same because of the way the system is setup. As for this propretary "Exclusive Silent Storm Cooling" I really don't know, there really doesn't seem to be much information on this PC online and I can not find the same model anywhere.
  6. Oh, I forgot to mention that I had already tried that. There does not seem to be any other fan headers, I unfortunately only have 1 fan accessible right now and would rather not buy another one just to find out the issue lies elsewhere. What else would you suggest ?
  7. Hello! I am currently having an issue with this MSI Nightblade MI2C that I got from a friend. On boot the message "CPU Fan Error, Please Check !" appears. I've done a bit of detective work and found the fan to be spinning when I initially start the PC, but it falls right down to 0RPM really quickly. Through the bios I do not seem to have any control. The motherboard is the MS-B090. Does anyone know what else I could do to troubleshoot? Is it mechanical failure? I'd like to keep this pc going for a while longer and am not shy of changing the fan, I could probably jerry rig something together if I don't find anything exact ! Thanks in advance! I hope to hear from someone as this is causing quite high temperature (booting on 40, flies straight up to 70 on idle after 10 min).
  8. Hey there, So I've recently thought of buying a new laptop and the Asus UX550VE has really caught my eye. The only thing holding me back is the shipping since no shop in my country is willing to import it for me. I live in Malta which is in EU, so I could really use some suggestions from where to purchase this laptop! P.S. I'd love a US Layout keyboard which just makes it harder. Thanks for your time, Liam
  9. I'm not totally sure but I would bet its related to a broken LED.
  10. Hey there, So I've recently thought of purchasing a new monitor just for better productivity and general consumption. My budget is 400 euro, if something is just above it I could go over budget. I'd say I'm a pretty competitive gamer so I'd like a monitor with the following specs: Refresh Rate: 144Hz+ Screen size: 23"-25" Response Time: 1ms Panel: TN Panel or IPS but probably TN considering budget. Resolution: 1080p/1440p (Suggestions on which would be better would be nice :)) G-Sync (Preferred but not necessary) Fairly Thin Bezel I saw these and seems to be everything I like in a reasonable price: Alienware AW2518H AOC AGON AG241QG Dell Gaming S2417DG YNY1D Thank you for your time, Liam
  11. This had happened to my G.Skill Trident Z RGB, one had a nice pure white while the other one had a part slightly more red. When to get it checked and was told it was an LED problem and got a replacement (Was like that straight out of the box).
  12. I did and it was all set up fine, honestly not sure what happened. Anyway I've got everything up and running and internet in every nook and cranny of the house! I really appreciate all the help :)!
  13. Wow... I saw I had my TP-Link switch just sitting around and turns out if I use the AC Adapter of it on the router it works! F*cking stupid way for something not to work haha.
  14. Thanks for all the help, Ill get back to you if I manage to get it working
