While I do not have experience with the router you posted, I can vouch that Linksys makes pretty good networking gear. The UniFi AP's are fantastic. I have been running one in my parents house for probably about 4 years now, and I have had exactly zero issues with it. I recently moved into my own place and installed one for myself - it has been fantastic so far. 
 
Another option for a router is PFSense on some old hardware, however power usage is going to be much higher with that, and you would end up spending $35 to $40 on a dual port nic. Unless you really want to set up PFSense for fun, I would just stick with the TP-Link router that you have selected already.

Only bad part about that is the TP-Link switch, they make OK products but not too great ones. If you are OK buying used, I would look on EBay for a used HP ProCurve. They have fire-ass warranties and are built like tanks.

You're 17, just have fun with your youth lol, I was busy buying and crashing motorcycles at that age, I did have gf's and back then but now I'm 10yrs older and wiser, my current gf and I are renting a flat and such things so....

My friend refers to all GPUs as "Nvidias" so consequently, he goes around telling his friends that his laptop has an Nvidia. This is also the same guy that was going to buy a Ailenware laptop from Xotic PC beacuse they "mod it", but said they were out of stock so he bought a Sager with an i7 and a 675MX. He still tells me how much better his laptop is than my rig... (Specs in sig.)
 
Also, one of my friends texted me one night and said: "Hey I need a good gaming laptop for $900 or less" I actually managed to find something okay on Amazon, then he told me the only place his dad would let him buy it was Staples (a place that sells office supplies), Office Depot (another place that sells office supplies, and Walmart. I had to direct him to a HP Entertainment notebook, that at least had Intel HD Graphics 4000. And beacuse I recommended this laptop to him, he thinks I am now have to offer him 24/7 tech support...
 
I also work as an unpaid IT Intern at my High School, so I'm not even going to start on the stuff that I see there.

Story of my life. I'm in the IT department at my school, and every hour some teacher asks me something and I just wanna lecture them on why I really don't care about their problems and that they can fix them on their own. Then family and friends asking me to fix their PC's, phones, phone screens, Jailbreaking iPhones etc... If its a girl and she's fiiiiine then okay, but otherwise I'd better be getting paid a decent amount.

Just try to talk to her. You can't force her to like you. but you can increase your chances.
I don't understand some of you.. girls are not some kind of hellbeasts that tear you to bits if you speak one word in their direction.. A simple hello goes a long way (unless you're james may)

How old is he?

My mother is a good example, she has a S3, has no clue on how to use(She Had it for 2 years now) I ask to show her, she says "no need, I am good" then scolds me for it not working the way intended, sigh
