  1. I'm asking in general, if you look at the Sennheiser GSP 300 for example it says 116 SPL but doesn't say if it is SPL/mW or SPL/V. Audio Technica, Beyerdynamic, Philips all mention SPL on their site for their headphones but don't specify if it is per microwatt or volt.
  2. Most headphone specifications I see only mention the sound pressure level in decibels and don't mention whether they're per mW or per volt. So when using a headphone power calculator such as http://www.digizoid.com/headphones-power.html, what sensitivity unit (SPL/mW or SPL/V) do I choose?
  3. The HyperX Clouds are re-engineered versions of the Takstar Pro 80 so it isn't fair to group them other gaming headsets.
  4. Thanks for the responses guys! The HyperX Cloud series have some very good reviews. Have you tried your Cloud Core on your motherboard's audio connectors? And what was the reason for getting an external DAC?
  5. As the title states which of these would perform better? HyperX Cloud Core headset + Fiio A1 amplifier connected to the onboard ALC887 audio on a Gigabyte B85 motherboard (or) a HyperX Cloud II headset? The reason I bring in an amplifier is that I have a cheap Phillips SHM1900 headset (32 Ohm impedance) and I have to use the front audio ports to get an acceptable volume on it.
