  1. Does the titan xp add that much value per performance? Would it be unreasonable to purchase it for my needs? I mean a $1000 graphics card is a bit much. Any idea if the prices should go down?
  2. Do you think it would be a better to get a new AIO liquid cooler or Air Cooler. If so which product would you recommend?
  3. It seems that these builds are similar with the exception of the CPU, Memory, and Motherboard. And I have a few questions regarding these topics. For the memory does the clock speed past 2400 really do that much? And in general what should someone look for in a motherboard, such as what features put one over the other? Also, the price for the operating system does not need to be factored in.
  4. Other than price is there any noticeable difference (for my needs) between the i7-7700k and the i7-8700k that would affect my decision?
  5. I don't remember what temperature it was at but it was cooling an i5-4670k. I am not even sure if the h100i supports 1151 mounting.
  6. I am not really in much of a position to wait. I will need to purchase the parts within the next few days as my current graphics card GTX 780 stopped working and now is as good a time as any to upgrade. Also, my cpu cooler is over 3 years old. Should I look into replacing it? It has not caused any problems.
  7. Looking for people to recommend components for a build that costs between $2000 and $2500. I am upgrading from an older PC and am hoping to be able to use some of the original parts such as: the corsair AX860i power supply, 240GB Kingston SSD, and corsair h100i CPU cooler. I am uncertain if these parts are outdated and should be upgraded or they are fine as is. My intentions for the new computer are completely honorable such as gaming, minor video editing/streaming, and messing around in blender. For gaming I would like to be able to maintain 60+ frames on the highest settings for most modern games in 1440 or 4k (I haven't decided if upgrading to 4k is worth it. My current monitor is an ASUS PB278Q that has a resolution of 2560x1440). When it comes to looks over performance, I am more interested in performance. For instance not everything has to have LED's. As far as the case goes, I would prefer something that can house 140mm fans has good airflow and is moderately quiet. To sum it all up and be frank, I do not know if what I ask for is outlandish for this price so treat the price as rather fluid while still trying to keep to the original parameters. TL:DR $2000-$2500 Looking to build a new PC already have power supply, cpu cooler, and storage SSD. (*maybe read above) Want to game at 60+ max settings on most games, with a resolution of 1440 or higher Performance over looks Do not include price of peripherals Thanks for all the help. This will be the third computer I have built and am still very much a noob.
