    You have a bad mainboard. Normally a CMOS should last +5 years. The CMOS battery is supposed to be a "backup" when your power supply is disconnected from the wall. The +5v on the mainboard supplys power for the clock/settings. When you loose the clock settings that means there is a short in the mainboard that is draining the +5v and probably the battery.

    Couple things to try Clear the CMOS with the button on the mainboard. Switch BIOS's to the backup BIOS. Test bare board, only have only your display plugged in, remove all hard drives, SSD's, USB devices, DVD's, etc. Then see if your boot time is any faster. http://download.gigabyte.us/FileList/Manual/mb_manual_ga-z170x-gaming-g1_e.pdf

    I know you tried the CMOS battery but you might try the BIOS reset jumper. For a MSI it should be called JBAT1.
