@Mel0n.Summoned me. @Esfand14So a few things first. There is a possiblity your drive could be recovered as long as none of the chips are damaged. If the NAND or controller are damaged your are hosed. A data recovery company could possibly recover it by possibly transplanting the controller and nand onto a donor PCB. That should work.

If the controller is damaged your are hosed. The adaptives and encryption keys for the nand are stored there. A cracked name is like a shattered platter on a drive. You cannot recover it.

All modern SSDs use encryption for their NAND because SSD manufactures like to protect their IP. Which makes data recovery difficult at the very best.

Oh, and pricing you are easily looking at 1500+ USD. Probably closer to 2500+ Maybe a more. Good luck!

It sure didn't come across that way and it is clear as to how it was directed nor written. It comes across rather accusatory. That seems to be what others feel in this thread as well.

I choose 2-3 of the best cables and throw the rest out. Then I wrap themselves up with themselves and they go into a box. No organization. However, there are only about 10-15 cables in there.

In repsonse to the OP and also what you have said here DANK, Making sexual innuendos and making jokes that are harmless in nature and not directed at anyone in particular is not sexual harassment. Also, the video in context in the original video is pretty damn funny. Yes, it was sexual in nature but it was something that was taking out of context and in the moment. It is like joking with your bros.

Also, another thing. These videos are EDITED BY OTHER PEOPLE! If there are issues, then why is it allowed in the video? It isn't like these videos are not reviewed several times before they are pumped out.

Maybe there is a culture of indifference going on here but if there was an issue Yvonne would actually take course. Furthermore Linus is the kind of person who would take action to change or stop doing something if it was going to cause others issues. Sure, he can double down on things and be hard headed, but he is human and he does care.

Also, he does run a business and there are ways to report things within a business that is anonymous.

Anyways I have said my 2 cents.

Here is the thing. Some people, like Jake, and myself (and I have Aspbergers... What does that make you?), can tell that what Linus is saying is a joke. Jokes, especially the ones that are mildly sexual in nature, and are not explicit, are just that, jokes. Linus saying, "I've got a raging server" is a joke. Linus saying, "let me screw you in the a$$ and I'll give you a raise"(NOT A REAL QUOTE) is clearly not. Even if the second was a joke, it would be in poor taste. When I hear "sexual harassment", like all other normal people, I think of sexual harassment. i.e. Bill Cosby, Harvey Weinstein sort of stuff. Inappropriate touches, getting too close too often, constantly talking about how sexy someone's body looks, despite pleas to stop, that's sexual harassment. This is none of those things. If there is sexual harassment BTS, again, in Canada they have way more protection from this sort of thing. They can get out if they want. Clearly they don't.

What I'm saying is, there is no reason to brigade this issue any longer. It has been shown time and time again that you are wrong, yet you persist. Why? Why are you fighting for people who do not care, and have no idea that they are being "saved" from "sexual harassment" by a white knight on the LTT forums who has no say in the matter.

It really depends. For main components sometimes I go with the previous generation other times I go latest gen. For GPUs I go latest gen.

It doesn't matter what app you are running. Think of it this way. Imagine having someone randomly smash you in the head with a baseball bat and knock you out. Whatever you were doing is now junk and you likely don't remember what you were doing. That is essentially what a power outage is to your computer.

It could be writing REALLY important stuff for the file system, OS, a program, etc. and that can cause corrution. The file system has fault tolerance so it will generally recover. However, other file systems dont (fat32 and others). Either way, if bad data gets written/partially written depending on what and where it can cause some serious trouble.

Single Player games it doesn't matter. Do whatever you want. I cheat in single player games a lot and mainly to get rid of one annoying ass issue: grinding for hard to get items or money. The only reason I do this is because I don't have a lot of time these days.

The barracuda drives were known for manythings. 7200.6-7200.11 were known for many things. Spindle failures, medica cache corruption, translator issues, multiple head failures and my favorite, spindle power dying while the heads are not retracted.

Yeah those super old drives would do that.... Hasn't been a problem since I think about the early to mid 90s.

You know what is more fun? Having the drive spindle controller fail while the drive is in operation. Drive still thinks it is on but the spindle is spinning down. I will let your imagination go from there.

I had that happen to a customer. They had a 6TB drive running fat32... Corrupted the file system pretty bad.

My mom uses ellipses all the time.

To me they are ominous. To her they appear to serve the same purpose as "um" or "like". She just liberally sprinkles them on top of what she's typing.

To imagine that everyone interprets a word or emoji the exact same way - even if it WAS the only definition - is simply not realistic.

Dishwasher tirck I have heard works. However, I would be hesitant to use it. I know de8aur swares by it.

BTW, you put it in the dishwasher with out ANY soap. Let the hot water do the work. He has used it to clean vasoline off of motherboards when he did extreme overclocking.

Either way, even thought it will work i am not willing to do that to a 300 dollar board.

If you are blowing out a computer the nozzle being 6 inches away I am pretty sure the moisture is not a huge problem. Whenever I used an air compressor to blow out a computer I blast the nozzle a 2-3 of times in 1 second blimps. That gets most of the moisture of the line out. For cleaning out a computer compressed air is fine after that. Thow turning down the pressure isn't a bad idea.
For a quick blowing out of a computer the compressed air in the system will be fine. Yes, contaminants can be there but in the amount they are coming out it is not likely to cause damage unless the nozzle is like an inch or two away. Just keep the nozzle back 6 inches and your fine.

Or just not bother with compressed air and get a blower.

We just take the drives out and keep them with dates on them. Then once every 6 months to a year audit the drives, contact the customer one last time. No response after 2 weeks the drives are destroyed. When the client signs it states we are not responsible for their data and it is their responsibility have a back. However, out of an abundance of caution we chose this.

Computers can be replaced. Data cannot was our thought on the matter.

Growing a client base, tools and experience takes time. I will say that I am damn good at computer repair and most in home services. But, that took 17 years, thousands of hours, thousands of computers and a lot of mistakes.

So you dont actually know that he was talking about the hoops youtube itself makes ltt jump through in order for their video to even be recommended due to the majority of views being from clicks on recommended vs actual subscribed users.

In every respect if they could just title the video what it was and have zero thumbnail and still get the same view count , that would be way easier to do than doing the song and dance youtube wants.
