  1. Phanteks, fractal design, noctua, be quietm coolermaster and corsair. They all have various fans that cover a variety of needs. Depends on what you need/want. Noctua and Be quiet would be the premium brands known for high quality and quiet operation. Corsair, Fractal design and coolermaster and phanteks all have competing products similar to those two as well. It really all boils down to what you are looking to do and how much you want to spend. each of those brands have fans that cost 30+ bucks a pop to some that are 10-15 bucks each. You really cannot go wrong with whatever brand you choose. I have phanteks PH-F140SP in my system. The main reason I went with them were their price (10-15 bucks each) and they had high airflow to noise ratio. At idle (600 rpm) I cannot hear them when my open back headphones are on. Though without them there is a very slight fan hum coming from my case. Barely audible. And also because I already had experience with phanteks fans. You really cannot go wrong. Just don't buy cheap fans. they don't last, have nasty motor whine and don't last long. Good quality case fans can last for many many years. Just like a quality power supply, case and heat sink.
  2. Honestly, get a good case from a known good company. Find something you like and post it here and we cand advise you from there. The other thing we need to know is what will you have in your system? What card will you have? Also, what is your budget? Personally, I concider a computer case an investment because you won't replace it often. My most favorite case of all time is the Phanteks Evol X which I currently have. It supports 2 360 rads, a shit ton of 2.5 SSDs, 10 hard drives if you want, lots and lots of room for cable management, glass side panels and well built. It is also rather minimalistic for its front panel. Oh and it has easy to access dust filters and is easy to take apart. personally, got a soft spot for Phanteks cases. They just do a lot of things right. NZXT also makes some good ones. 510 and 810 are good ones. Corsair has several too. As far as airflow goes it really comes down to what you will have in your system. I have 5 140mm fans that move about 86 cfm each at full bore which is more than plenty for most systems. Honestly, it is a bit overkill and personally next year going to splurge on some be quiets or noctuas. They are not as quiet as I would like at idle. Under load I don't really care as much and expect noise. My setup is 2 intakes and 3 exhausts. Two fans in the front bring air in and over everything, two fans on top and one in the back bring air out.
  3. Perfect canidate for ubuntu. If you want an even lighter weight version of Ubuntu check out Xubuntu. It uses XFCE instead of Unity and has a much lighter weight UI. The biggest thing is under the hood they are essentially the same OS just different makeup. If you really wanna go crazy there are even lighter versions of Linux around.
  4. He turned into air and disappeared. Seriously though he is likely working on another project. Them busy people at LTT.
  5. A disc is CHEAP vs a flash drive or an SD card. When i say cheap I mean pennies to create. Nowadays some companies have no info on the disc and require you to download the game or just put a downlaod code inside the case. The new Modern Warfare 2 does this. There is 90 MB of data on the disk and it requires you download other 150GB of the game. I think a high capacity bluray disc these days is less than a dollar. Maybe 2-3 dollars a disc at scale. A DVD or a CD it is just pennies a disc. A flash drive or SD card costs dozens of dollars.
  6. It has been an ongoing issue. youtube is NOTORIOUS for being slow footed with these things. He has had this same issue for something like a month or two? Youtube still never fixed it. The other issue was if he clicked off the page and came back ALL of the super chats were gone except for any that came in after he clicked back. Would you get fed up using a broken system? I would. He also stated he would rather people get something for their money instead of just giving it to him. Also, youtube keeps 30% of whatever you send. He has also repeated told people not send super chats. You cannot beat a dead horse after a while.
  7. I look at it this way: Use common sense Keep your stuff up to date Don't be stupid Don't do illegal stuff. I mean ILLEGAL stuff. Torrenting doesn't count. You know what I mean. If you do all of that then what do you have to worry about? Someone seeing your porn habits? If you still get hit by a zero click or zero day you have no control over that. Hell, with this day and age everyone has some kind of surveillance on them. Go look up 5 eyes and 14 eyes. If someone is going to target you as an object of surveillance you are not going to be a knowing party. So why worry about what you cannot control? If you live in a country where free speech will lead you to danger, then you should do what you can to protect yourself. VPNs and whatnot. Anyways, outside of state actors, much of what you deal with are bad guys (blackhats/hackers/criminals) trying to find ways to exploit something to install malware, create bot nets, steal information, etc. As long as you keep your antivirus up-to-date, your OS updated and your other stuff updated, use common sense and don't be stupid (install shady software, etc) you are good. Cops and robbers. Cat and mouse. The cycle will forever continue till the day the earth bleeds dry. Also, nowadays the individual USUALLY is not the target. You don't hold all the eggs. Now banks, information brokers, business etc on the other hand? Those are juicy targets. Why steal one person's stuff when you can steal thousands or millions of people's stuff?
  8. As stated above mixing and matching timings can cause problems. A buddy of mine just recently had similar issues. His system wouldn't even boot like@Holmes108stated.

That is some early socket 775 stuff there. 775 was around for 7 years... Really unusual for a socket. And I just learned the EP45 UD3R/P I had supported a pentium 4 505... What a socket.
  11. Change the heat sink orientation. I have a D15 in my case and my ram is tall but you can mount the fan a little higher on the cooler without issues. either that or put the fan in the back. Orientation does matter.

  21. Generally a power cycle as you are getting would not be the PSU. There can be issues but in my experience it hasn't. The issue you have for me has been a board, processor or ram. 90% of the time out of those options it has been a board. The fact you cannot even get to bios shows that. However, there is another thing to keep in mind is possible ram training. I would let your system loop 10 times and see if it does anything. It shouldn;t take that long but just in case. Also, review your motherboard's manual and see what ram slow you need to use for your single stick of ram. Sometimes that can cause issues. If you still have power cycling after 10 loops, try the other stick. If still nothing at this point I would try a board first. CPU failures are rather uncommon. In my 10+ years of experience as a professional repair tech I can count on one hand the number of CPU failures (excluding laptops).
