  1. I remember working at microcenter and literally a pallet of diablotek power supplies sat in the BYO department. I made it my mission to prevent people for buying them. I went so far as to get into trouble with management. XD but main thing was these power supplies were the biggest pieces of shit I have ever seen. They could not do their advertised wattage, did not follow the atx spec and were basically firestarters. however, I could not find what happened to them in the end. Like, how they went out? Did their business fail or did something else force them? Or was it something else. god these things were a blight.

RIP EVGA 2080Ti XC Swapped some stuff around in…

That sucks. Also don't bake that doesn't properly work.
  3. Hey there. I have a 2070 super I am looking to sell. However, I am not sure what to price it at. How much do you think one is worth? I was thinking 200. also, sorry if this breaks any rules. I am not looking to sell the card in this thread. I will make a proper listing. Just trying to get information.
  4. I have found trying to find these bits outside of LTT store is a daunting task. If I look for 1/4" Hex 20mm I do not find many of these kinds of bits. Half height 1/4" hex bit doesn't; result much either.
  5. I had this with an old client of mine. it was... frustrating at best because nothing out there is for the impaired that is really very good. The lady was blind and I couldn't find a TV and a remote that was simple enough to use. Now the other par t is the lady didn't want to learn. That is her issue. I spent 2 tweeks looking for product With your grandma, maybe getting a remote that is as simple as possible would work? Just cable, an extremely simple remote that is on, off, volume, numbers and channel change button. Maybe with big buttons for simple and easy use if her eyes are not great. I would go with cable TV because it is really straight forward. I am not sure how many restrictions you can put on it, but maybe prevent her from getting into menus somehow? Other than than Dementia is such a hard thing to watch. A beautiful soul eroding away. I hope your grandma stays around a while more and the dementia proceeds slowly.
  6. Just install windows on the M.2 you want. The system will only boot from the drive with windows on it. Eveverythiung else is ignored. What I recommend you do is install the main ssd in the slot closest to the CPU. Then, when you are down with windows install the other ssd. This way you don't put windows on the wrong drive. Now, if both drives are two different sizes then it does matter. Just install windows on the drive you wont. You will see in the installer which drive is a different size.

Did that drive come in for recovery? I'm going to venture to say it doesn't have long to live. However how old is that drive? Can't imagine HGST has made that size drive in a while?

    Well played IEKA, well played.
  12. I didn't think they were behaving recklessly. They kept their distance, didn't stuck their hands in anywhere, showed why capacitors are dangerous and didn't do anything stupid. From my standpoint they were treating the big box of death with respect. Did they seem cavalier, sure but they weren't being stupid. And they did mention and show why what they were messing with was dangerous.
  13. That also could be the case. When you are troubleshooting issues like you have it is always a pain. I use to wokr in computer repair for over a decade and custom systems have stumped me more times than I can count.
  14. The only way to know for sure is simply by testing. I would order a good power supply off of amazon or someplace it is easy to return. For a CPU, get a low end CPU that your system supports. I use to keep around a celeron for my 3770k system XD Runs like shit but great for testing. The cheapest option I can find is something like the Ryzen 5 4600G that also has onboard graphics. Gives you options if you ever need it for troubleshooting. Maybe a friedn has a power power supply?
  15. It sounds like a possible CPU issue there. I have had erractic behavior caused by a bad processor or a bad seat. Try that to see if it works. Otherwise my thought would be possible board or maybe there is an issue there? These issues are always hard to figure out. What I would do is go to a minimally viable setup. Maybe even go as far as to run your system on top of a box for a bit. Board, power, cpu, storage ram. While you are at it reseat the processor and heatsink. Then see if the issue continues. Run off the onboard video for a bit. It could also be related to power somehow. So possible issue there too. These issues are the hardest to figure out. Oh one last thing, check to make sure it is not your power button or reset button causing this. I would try disconnecting them and powering on your computer with a screw driver (short the power button pins) or get a temp power button for the time being. https://www.amazon.com/FainWan-Motherboard-Re-Starting-Buzzers-Computer/dp/B09T36TGXW/ref=sr_1_3?crid=1MKTB5G7QKPYU&keywords=motherboard+speaker+power+button&qid=1667176047&sprefix=motherboard+speaker+power+button%2Caps%2C104&sr=8-3 Also, having a motherboard speaker is SUPER handy when troubleshooting. Post codes come in all forms including beeps.
  16. Sounds like for whatever reason the bootloader on your old drive is taking precedence. I would still rebuild the bootloader. Sorry I misread this. HA! regardless this should work. Trust me it drove myself and my colleges NUTS trying to figure it out. We had to do so many freaking clean installs its not even funny. Then bunch of googling later I found that thread. EVERY SINGLE site wants you to rebuild the MBR which is incorrect when dealing with UEFI. You wouldn't believe how long it took me to find that damn thread.
  17. Have you tried using different cables? You know, a part of me is thinking maybe the headphones are at fault? Have tried just anything other than the cans you have now? Another part of me is questioning maybe if there is a CPU issue? It is really strange this only happens under load. It may even be related to power. Maybe a bad power supply? I remember years ago E-Machines would have horrible USB issues because of bad power supplies. Part of me is thinking maybe because the system is under load, something itsn't kosher with the power delivery leading to unexpected and unexplained behavior.
  18. This is a common issue I have faced after cloning a drive at work. We have used all number of cloning software but anything other than sector by sector copy messes up windows boot for whatever reason. Follow this guide, it should get you going again. http://woshub.com/how-to-repair-uefi-bootloader-in-windows-8/
  19. Make sure you update Windows 11 to the latest version. Also install your drivers!!!!!! Go to the website for your board and download what you need. Get the chipset driver from AMD for the B550 chipset. Make sure your video card has the latest drivers as well.
  20. Those were my thoughts as well. BTW, even if the system posts I would still do a bios update. There a lot of times can be various stability related patches, security patches and overall improvements.
  21. Then go with some nice fans. I would look into the dark wings from be quiet or higher end fans from the the other brands. You will have to do some reasearch and figure out what fans you want. If you replace the fans on your AIO I would recommend using ones optimized for static pressure. You could then use those same fans for the case if you wanted. Just do some digging and take a look and see what each brand has. I dcannot just give you the answer for a few reasons: You gotta explore the brands and see what they have and also gives you a cahnce to learn. The other reason is I don't know what you are looking for in fans. There are A LOT of fan models. Another thing is some of the higher end fans link together if you wan RGB or not to make life a lot easier. Lian Li also makes fan that link together for nice clean maangement https://lian-li.com/product-category/cooling/ I think corsair has something similar. Also, another thing. I use 140mm case fans because they move more air and are overall quieter than 120s. If you have an AIO that comes with 120mm fans you gotta use 120mm fans on them.
