  1. They don't need to be "fully" wireless, it's the shape of the headphone that I'm interested in, however it's true - AirPods match the requirements. They're just too expensive ?
  2. Hi Everyone, I'm looking for wireless earbuds for my gf, but the catch is that she does not like in-ear style heaphones, and even though "Earbuds" and "in-ear" are 2 different things (Source: https://www.wirerealm.com/info/difference-between-in-ear-headphones-earbuds), everywhere I look for "EarBuds" I can only see in-ear ones. Can you guys tell me what options do I have if I want go get her actuall NON in-ear headphones? My budget is limit is about 75 USD, but I would prefer for them to be closer to 50 USD (please send shops from Europe if possible). Cheers
  3. Hi paddy-stone, To answer your questions - I don't really know how many of my files need to be transcoded. I have a library full of various formats and codecs. As for the number of users - i don't think it would be more than 3 at a time, rather 1 or 2 streams. However my library is rather high quality. I have many movies with 10+ GB and a few 4k ones that have about 18GB in x265. I would be streaming primarily to my LG 4k TV, so I care about the quality of the stream. I have my backups Don't worry. Besides, the NAS was also supposed to be some kind of a backup for a few files. As for the forum - there are mostly users with complete ideas on what they want to build and what OS to use and if they don't, they have huge budgets. Nevertheless - you said ECC is not required. But In this case is FreeNAS even the best option? Maybe I should go with regular OS WIn/Linux and setup all the raids, plex server and cloud on there? BTW - this was my first idea. Get a PC from my company (we can get them really cheap) - i7-3770, 8 GB RAM, 128 SSD - basically a Dell Optiplex, add a new PSU, change the case and add a few drives. But I've read about FreeNAS, the ZFS filesystem that reccomends ECC and the whole plan went to the bin. So what do you suggest? What OS should I choose in this case? Would the FreeNAS still be ok without the ECC? Thanks Cheers
  4. Hello Everyone. I am a geek like many of you here, and although I feel pretty confident about my knowledge when it comes to consumer hardware I feel a bit overwhelmed by the server side. That is why I have some questions for you guys. I want to build a NAS for Plex and private Cloud under FreeNAS. I know I should get MOBO with ECC support (for ZFS file system) and since the only consumer CPUs that work with ECC are i3s I think I should go with a Xeon. What I don't know is - what should I choose. Do I even need to go with a Xeon, or is the i3 good enough? Does it make a huge difference if I go with DDR2 generation hardware, or is this just too old? If I have to go with Xeon - what is best price/value CPU for my needs? What MOBO can/should I use? I don't have a specific budget, but to make it easier for you to understand the prices I will need to pay, multiply all the prices in USD by 4 (I'm from Poland and we pay in PLN). Knowing that I hope you will get a better feeling on the topic "do I think it's a budget option". If you can help me I would be very grateful. Thanks Cheers
