  1. Thanks for your in-depth help I've already tried some of these commands using the advandced start up options (I'm using a USB drive for that). However, they didn't work as they should for me, most of the time I got error messages like these: The boot configuration data store could not be opened. The requested System device can not be found. Unfortunately, the same happens when I try the commands from your link. I've got no idea why that always happens. Here's also a picture (sorry for the bad quality). I also don't know why it complains about memory resources, there should be more than enough. And thanks again for the information.
  2. Hi, I've recently tried a fix for a problem but instead of solving it, Windows only shows a blackscreen now. I'm still trying to fix that but I'm not very confident. So I've already thought about wiping everything and a clean Windows installation. The most important files and folders are already backupped, However, I know that some important stuff is only saved on that PC, since these files and folders are nothing vital but I wouldn't wanna lose them if there's an acceptable way to save them. I guess that I'll need some kind of bootable recovery software which is able to copy the files and folders (or the entire drive, doesn't matter) from the system on my external HDD. I've already searched a little bit but most of these free tools seem very confusing. Any suggestions?
  3. i7 8700K Z370 Gaming i7 GTX 1070 G1 16 GB RAM Ok, thank you guys. I think I just found the problem: I disabled the Windows 10 Game Bar and it instantly fixed it. It seems like it had some problems with 144 Hz, on my old TV and monitor it's fine at 60 Hz without any stuttering, despite the game bar being activated. I have no idea at all why it causes problems at 144 Hz but not on the old 60 Hz screens but that seems to be the reason why I thought it's the monitor.
  4. Hi, I've bought a Benq XL2420G monitor and I love the 144 Hz and G-Sync, it's really smooth. But only as long as I can keep the framerate maxed out. In some games, especially FPS games, I get some stuttering if the framerate drops. That's normal if the framerate e.g. drops from 144 fps to 115 fps. So I tried activating V-Sync and limiting the fps to avoid any big drops. However, that didn't change anything at all. If I choose a limit of 120 fps and it drops to like 118 fps, there's still a horrible stuttering. The games freeze for around 0.5 seconds. I'd say that's quite strange, since I normally didn't really notice small drops like that. It doesn't seem to make any difference if G-Sync is turned off. After all, I don't really have a problem with the drops, I know it's normal that cards can't always keep the framerate at 120 fps of recent AAA titles. But why do the games stutter and freeze if they drop just 2 to 5 fps below that? The reason why I think it's a monitor problem, is that it didn't happen with my old Monitor while using the same hardware.
  5. Hi, I've installed Windows with the Media Creation Tool many times. Every time I log in with my Microsoft account, it automatically restores some files, background and a few settings. Does anybody know how to disable that feature? I still wanna use this account because of the license etc. but I don't like that Windows recovers all that stuff from the old installation.
  6. I guess I'm going to order some of these fans. The silence at this price is just so awesome.
  7. Wow, these things are REALLY nice, I just found a video on Youtube here. Price at 10 bucks is also great.
  8. Hi, I'm currently looking for really silent 140mm case fans, I mean fans where almost only the airflow itself is audible. In the past, my stock case fans were always fine but the fans of my new case are really loud, you have to set the PWM speed to 20% or better 15% to make them sound acceptable. Of course I've already red a lot of reviews on the internet and created a litle list with some of the suggestions I found. The price isn't a problem, since I'll only need 3 fans but if less money can buy around the same noise/performance I'd appreciate it. So I'd love it if you guys could look at my list here and maybe write which ones you would buy or maybe you even know better ones.
  9. Ok, I'm gonna try venting it outside. Well, I compared it to that smell because I remembered it when I picked up a cheap blender after the old one died I guess that was a dumb comparison.
  10. Hi, I'm really confused. 3 years ago, I bought a Corsair HX850i EU PSU. Last year, it stopped working, so I contacted Corsair and thanks to their 10 years warranty I got a new one pretty fast. However, I had to send it back again, since it smelled really bad, like a cheap 15 bucks kitchen blender. Now I've got the third PSU and it's much better but still smells like a cheap blender. This one might not make the entire room smell like it but it's certainly annoying while using the PC. If you're sitting right next to it, there's no way to escape the smell. There is some white stuff inside the PSU but I guess that's supposed to be there for isolation and stopping noise maybe. The fan is facing the bottom of the case and there's enough space for ventilation (Phanteks Enthoo Luxe TG). As soon as I remove the PSU and move it to another room, the smell disappears almost instantly, even if you literally press the nose against the PC there's no smell anymore. I guess it clearly shows there are no other parts smelling like that. According to Corsair it's fine to smell a little the first days but not weeks. I don't know what to do, since it doesn't seem to be the problem of just one device. I can't RMA my PSU all the time. The performance seems to be fine.
  11. I also had to connect one to FAN1. I already thought the hub is faulty, thanks a lot
  12. My Z370 board has got three LAN options. While I wanna use the AQUANTIA AQC107 to connect my PC to my HTPC, I don't know which of the two Intel solutions I should use for internet (gaming). It's an Intel I219V and an Intel I211AT. The first one seems to have a lower power consumption and is quite new. However the spec sheet of the other one seems more "developed" but I'm no expert. Will there be any differences or benefits for web activities and online gaming?
