Yeah I never said it didn't, just wanted to vent my frustrations with pop os -
What are the best Linux distributions?

Pop OS is garbage and daddy Mutahar agrees with that. I had nothing but issues with it. Definitely not a beginner distro. -
Try using a DisplayPort cable if your monitor has a DP input. It's all really fuzzy but I think I didn't have this problem with a DP cable.

Well yeah, that's what the 20 series did - remember the space invaders "XD" artifacts? It's as if the card was mocking you for buying it.

I've got a similar setup with the cpu and gpu. I have a 550W Gold power supply. You are definitely fine. I actually looked at Rivatuner stats to see the power consumption and even in very intense, real life scenarios the whole setup draws 250W at most (direct software reporting, not from the wall, but it seems smack dab in the middle of the efficiency curve of the power supply, so I'd expect a 300w or so draw from the wall - and for you even less as you've got a Platinum rated PSU).

Another reason why upscaling is a useless, time wasting, resource wasting gimmick. All this because RTX is too intensive even for RTX cards that they require playing at a lower resolution BUT WAIT it tricks you it isn't all the while being marketed as this "magic extra performance button". Absolutely disgusting. I can't wait for this stupid trend to die out. Edit: I should clarify - the trend of considering FSR / DLSS a magic "increase performance button". It certainly has uses, just not the retarded marketing ones.

Anyone check out these new over priced Temu graphics cards?
xFluing replied to ClairviusVideo's topic in Graphics Cards
Colorful is a legit brand my guy -
There is no condensation. Whatever stuff comes out is straight up solid stuff that immediately sublimates and leaves nothing behind. I do agree though that a small handheld compressor is much more cost effective in the long run, as well as more consistent.

All shaders are raster graphics. The only raytrached shaders are in minecraft RTX which is a bedrock exclusive anyway. Java is the best version to play.

Nobody in their right mind should buy from aliexpress, especially video cards.

I would never take my card back to someone who told me it has a "bit problem", they sound like they're blowing smoke up their asses - wanting to sound more knowledgeable than they are
-
You should probably send the card back and get a different one in its place. This has nothing to do with AMD and it could as well have happened on an nvidia. Anecdotally I had no issues with my card. I could also suggest checking if any ports get disabled for whatever reason, or if you use any adapters (yes they can cause issues sometimes, I know from experience)

Why did you completely overwrite everything in this thread?

XFX "JET" RX 6800 XT MERC 319 Hotspot is very high. Normal?
xFluing replied to Rowlexander's topic in Graphics Cards
Celsius degrees? IMPORTANT EDIT: what is the regular non-hot spot core temperature with the stock fan curve? What you showed in the custom curve is pretty par for the course for hotspot temps compared to core temp. In all seriousness your setup should be fine, you might even make it worse with a vertical mount if you don't have any intake on the side panel or the case is not wide enough. Now what I DO know for sure is hotspot temps are always higher than average (average is what gets usually reported and what reviewers look at); however 108 might be too high and that could mean uneven mounting pressure on the cooler, or even worse uneven thermal paste application. This is XFX and they're known for having made bad coolers for RX 580 and 5700XT (the "thicc" coolers yes that's how they were called), though I've been pleasantly surprised by the quality of the QICK/MERC cooler. I digress. I suggest you check the screw tightness on the mounting points on the GPU core. If any are loose tighten them (wrist tight only is good enough). If problems persist I suggest taking off the cooler and check thermal paste. -
Weird dual monitor problems with a 3090TI
xFluing replied to cleric_warlock's topic in Graphics Cards
I've run into this issue when using (cheap) HDMI to VGA adapters thinking the card was broken. I know it's kind of a shot in the dark but is the monitor plugged into an adapter of any sorts? -
SLI never added VRAM together. There WAS a time where if coded correctly DX12 could do that although it wasn't worth pursuing as SLI and Xfire suck anyway. What I think he CAN do is split the workload between the GPUs i.e. tell OBS to run on one video card specifically, while games are defaulting to the other although I think that's gotta be hard to do.

Electricity is electricity. There is one circuit running through your whole house (well different circuits but separated by lights and outlets). I can assure you your "first floor electricity" is the same as the electricity in all your house. You can't "infect" it in any way. "Dirty" electricity is just a way of saying that the conversion from AC to DC is done poorly so there's big drops in voltages in your PC.

So many people seem to have problems with AMD drivers that are just not there and I am beginning to think it's the same regurgitated bullshit by nvidia fanboys who either: 1. Never even touched AMD but pretend they did to create an argument for themselves 2. Have only half assed their AMD attempts without proper driver cleanup so of course they have issues Oh also it's crazy how seemingly the same crowd was ok with intel's driver issues and had patience for fixes
-
How the fuck do you people keep having these issues???
-
Be ause of the nvidia herd mentality. Then you see the same people comlain about no competition. AmD cards have been good for far longer than 2 years too.

1070 O8G withdrew only 160W is it normal ? rated 200-300W on web.
xFluing replied to Redsiskin's topic in Graphics Cards
I am beginning to think that manufacturers intentionally overspec the power draw so you wont have any issues on your end. I ak starting to believe, at least on the amd side, power draw is reported as whole system power draw. XFX for instance recommends a 6-700w or so psu for my 6700xt, however i am hovering at around 200-250 on the whole system -
Can I use my 3060 and my 1060 at the same time?
xFluing replied to Muhhsun's topic in Graphics Cards
It's the same thing just backronymed to match nvidia's marketing
