  1. How would the VG27AQ compare to the XG279Q, besides the 5hz higher refresh rate on the XG279Q? I also do not need to stick with one particular brand, i've simply had a great experience with my PG278QR.
  2. Looking for a monitor to replace my recently-deceased Asus PG278QR. There is the PG279Q, though that has higher input lag (4ms vs the 1ms on the PG278QR). I have also found the XG279Q, which seems good though i am unsure the difference between G-sync and G-sync compatible branding. I also have a relatively shallow desk and play with an angled keyboard, which the pronged stand of the XG279Q would interfere with, from what i can tell. My old monitor, the PG278QR had the following specs: - 165hz refresh rate - 1ms response time - 2560 x 1440p resolution - G-sync (which i believe refers to the G-sync module being installed into the panel, whereas G-sync compatible is simply a compatibility with g-sync software without the module being installed?) I do not want to downgrade on any of these fronts. *unless G-sync and G-sync Compatible are so close in the end-user function that there's no valuable difference. While i'd love to simply buy a second PG278QR, which i absolutely adored, they do not make them anymore and i cannot find an unopened one for sale on ebay. Any suggestions?
  3. that comes in at a reasonable 200$ or so, much more enticing. how good are they at blocking out/ overpowering background noise?
  4. In total that's coming in at around 250-300$ depending on the microphone, and while it sounds like a killer audio setup, it might be a bit overkill for my needs, i think.
  5. how much does your total audio setup cost?
  6. My Kraken 7.1s are beyond the grave at this point and i'm wondering what y'all would recommend to replace them? i tried the Kitty Edition ones and the sound quality was awful, as was the microphone, and while it could have been a lemon the lack of gold plating on the usb and thinner cable makes me think they're simply of lesser quality than they used to be... Any suggestions?
  7. Oh wow i can really hear that... yeah i can totally see why you returned it!
  8. I tried a k95 with the silver speed switches at a friends house and my god i have never felt a keyboard so touchy in all of my life- you only had to use the tiniest portions of force to get a reaction, which led me to find myself constantly hitting keys accidentally and moving in inopportune ways whilst trying out csgo on it... also that ctrl key felt oddly small to me. What made you return the Apex Pro?
  9. This actually is starting to seem like quite the intriguing option... for a fullsize board, what would you recommend me to pick up? Is it more beneficial to purchase a barebones model with seperate switches and caps like @Dr0y suggested, and if so what is your board of choice?
  10. Unfortunately they seem to be TKL only, and a numpad is a must for me. That seems like a pretty good price and the finish on the keyboard base itself is really nice looking! i'll have to keep this one in mind! i didn't have any issues with my mx blues and for the time being i think i'm only looking at prebuilt keyboards, but i'll definitely have to try this in the future.. This actually looks like it could be quite the fun endeavour!
  11. that is indeed a possible solution, however i wouldn't say no to a board with such features right out of the box.
  12. There is a brand called Ducky. how could i not heard of this sooner?! in all seriousness, it looks pretty damn good! the lack of a usb passthrough is a bit unfortunate, but other than that it actually looks like a pretty competent no-frills design, and i certainly can't throw a negative at those cherry mx blues.
  13. My old, faithful Razer Chroma keyboard finally died a few months ago after four years of use and one poor attempt at a thorough cleaning, which sadly ended up sending those blue switches to their mechanical grave. Now, having used a crappy bargain bin early 2010s dell keyboard for the past months since the disaster, i'm ready to upgrade. So far i've set my sights on the Apex 7 (non TKL ; with blue cherry mx switches since that's what the chroma had), the G513 Carbon (again with blue switches), and finally the Asus Rog Scope (non TKL; blue switches). Thoughts on my choices, anyone- advice, even? I really enjoyed my old cherry mx blues on the chroma and i'd like to keep that trend going, and having a full size keyboard is a must for 3d modeling, but beyond that i'm open to anything. (Usb passthrough would be nice)
