I’ve been trying to figure out what I did and how to fix it for a couple months.
the issue started with me updating windows 10 and updating drivers. I was dumb and used driver booster 5 and I’m pretty sure that is what caused the failure to boot. The laptop stalled on the restart after installing the drivers from driver booster.
I can get into windows recovery but all reset/store options fail.
I have updated the bios to the most updated version from asus.
I created 2 windows installer usb devices but neither show up on the boot menu, yes I have disabled secure boot and fast boot but they still only show up as connected usb devices in the bios.
I’m open to trying almost anything to get this fixed and have been through command prompt to dskchk. Last night I found a forum post saying usb boot is disabled on newer asus laptops and I don’t know if this is true but would make sense.
