Try calibrating using lowest advertised temps of that filament. I had filaments that extruded significantly more at higher temps.

Issue solved.  To boot the UNRAID USB required CSM to be Enabled.  For some reason the THREE most recent BIOS for this motherboard all are missing CSM.  They list it but the menu for it is blank.  I had to go back to the 4th Revision back to actually get CSM.  THAT Fixed the issue. I put in a service Ticket to Asrock informing them of the CSM issue, hopefully they fix it.

I think I've figured it out, my Lens Firmware was out of date.  I swore I'd updated it when I got the lens, but apparently not.  I may have tried to update the camera and lens at the same time, which does not work, you have to update them completely separately.  If the Camera Body Firmware is even on the SD card the camera body will say "No Media Present" because the body firmware supersedes any lens updates I guess.

Updated the lens to the "new" (2015) firmware and now Dual IS works and my handheld shot already looks smoother than it did right before updating.

MandicReally got a reaction from DZanjo1ST in What camera would you get for 4k video? (about 2000$)
I'll be the Panasonic guy, what about the GH5? If you are going to be handheld shooting it's got just about the best image stabilization you are going to get. Autofocus is no good, but I just manual focus most of my shots. You also don't get the depth of field of a full frame camera but the versaility of adapting to whatever lenses you want (except e-mount I think). You do get DCI 4k 4:2:2 10-bit up to 30fps internal. You can do 4k/60 at 8-bit internal. But pair it with a Ninja V and you can external record to SSDs at 10-bit 60fps.

If Full frame is important to you Id be looking at the Z6. Though to get Log out of it you have to external record I believe. I external record anyway because I just prefer ProRes for editing and SSDs for the Atomos are dirt cheap compared to even SD cards. Does it do any one thing amazing? No. But it does everything well from everything I have seen. Good color, good IBIS, FF 4k, and adaptable to F mount lenses which there are a lot of.

If you just want to pick up a camera, not worry about any add on stuff, and use a good 4k Full Frame, I'd be looking at the Sony A7III. But you are giving up 4:2:2 10-bit, which if you are color grading a fair amount can really matter.

This is just a general statement, please freaking Normalize your audio. Meaning try and keep your final audio levels equal through your entire video. Narrative work is different, but basically anything else, keep it even people.

So many YouTube channels (big ones) don't seem to give a damn about this and if is maddening.

If I have to adjust the volume more than once in a video, you've failed. Espeically when I have to turn it up for a quiet talking part then get blasted by music or louder speech the next moment.

Pick an output volume level and stick to it. Some channels vary from video to video, so if I want to binge their content I'm constantly adjusting my volume again. Personally I aim for -12dB all across the board. Sound effects I allow up to about -6 in the briefest of instances. Speech or music I try not to go over -12dB in more than spikes. I normalize my Audio in Adobe Audition to -11dB so that the few spikes I may have are louder but the average is more like -12.

Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk. LTT is pretty good about this unless someone isn't mic'd up, but so many others aren't. Whatculture is the absolute biggest culprit that comes to mind.

MandicReally got a reaction from Ben17 in Why can't Linus to a traditional Scrapyard Wars?
I have to wonder is it that the gimmicks are making SYW become strained or a complete lack of interest on their part. It's a LOT of work to produce a handful of videos. Far more than their normal workflow. I think Linus is over it and it shows in the final product.

Couple that with the fact that Linus and Luke basically cannot shop for parts anymore since even Colton and Jake get recognized when they do so.

As for the parts, most of them are janky af. Linus' cobbled together power supply may have been done right or may be a fire hazard. They CAN'T give those computers away in that fashion. Saying "They could make good computers out of them with a little time.", means devoting even more time and money to the project after production wraps. I feel like I remember them mentioning at least some of it going to FreeGeek afterward (not in this video series). I mean as a business owner it's a charitable donation. May be a drop in the bucket but it's money left on the table if they aren't doing that.

MandicReally reacted to LogicalDrm in Why can't Linus to a traditional Scrapyard Wars?
Wouldn't donating PCs be a constraint of sorts? They would need to be in proper case, not bolted to piece of wood like Luke did in one season. And there couldn't be any yanky solution for PSUs cause it needs to last more than 3 days of filming. Thats already same amount of constrains that few of the seasons have had.

Imo whole series isn't worth it anymore. This last one felt rushed in many ways. The last episode has some much RIP Mics going on that its not even funny. Editor did f-up it also when they didn't have subtitling for parts when you can't hear Linus speaking at all.

So... are you just talking out of your ass or do you have actual point there?

Lets digest this. Linus not charitable? Then do please explain:
Takes whole company to volunteer at FreeGeek (which also gets constant free advertising from LTT) Used to donate on viewer decided charities. Donated to fellow youtubers fundraiser Donated to tree campaign Has had inventory giveaways, which weren't sponsored by anybody. Plus the other be-a-good-employer stuff. Granted he could do more, but until you can show your good deeds, I don't think he needs to showcase more charitatibility.

One thing to add to your workflow: between steps 2 and 3, add a step to create a backup copy of all original files. You can delete those once the final video file is created.

MandicReally reacted to mariushm in NVENC bitrate vs H.264 bitrate
DaVinci Resolve is free and much better than the software that comes with Windows.
If you're willing to spend a few dollars, retail copies of Sony Vegas Movie Studio are less than 30$ on Amazon:
19$ : Amazon.com: VEGAS Movie Studio 14 Platinum - Perfect support for creative video editing: Software
    18$ : Amazon.com: Sony Movie Studio 13: Software

For Youtube needs they're perfectly fine, you don't need the most expensive Vegas suite with all the plugins and output formats supported.

Youtube will recompress anything you upload to it, so it's important to give it as much quality you can, and the easiest way to do that is using bitrate. 6000 kbps is just too little and the Windows software has the h264 compressor probably configured for speed and not for retaining quality. In addition to that, the h264 compressor it has may have very few options or it's a lightweight version which simply isn't smart enough to retain loads of quality in the video.

Software like DaVinci or Premiere or Sony Vegas (movie studio, vegas pro, vegas edit etc) have very good h264 compressors so if you select the proper bitrate they'll generate very good quality.

For Youtube, I'd recommend using 15-25 mbps (15000 kbps or higher) and you should upload 1920x1080p or higher.  If your input is near or less than 1280x720, Youtube will use different re-compression options which may make your video even worse looking.

If you buy good quality video lights that should be taken care of for you.  The flickering is not nessisarly due to ac current but instead that the light controler useing pwm to control brightness vs strait voltage control.

That was my thought.  AME was easy to do but didn't seem to be utilizing my CPU enough.

AND I just discovered another problem.  It Exported all 100+ Files at the WRONG Resolution.  I selected a 4K Preset and bumped up the Bitrate on it, then it Exported everything at 2.7K... There isn't even a 2.7K Preset.  Now I have to figure out doing this all over again.

I would go Proress every day hands down out of those two options. At the data rates listed you wont see a noticable quality differences instead proress will have a lower cpu burden as its a lower compression format than h264 it will tax your ssd through put a bit more as it will be a slightly higher data rate.

Effects will take less time to render as the i frames are closer together so fewer extra frames to have work done to on each render

    Weight, V8 power and sound.

A Northstar weighs 400lbs without accessories and makes a little over 300HP stock. Headers and custom tune that is pushed up a bit. Compare that to say a 4G63 inline 4 which weighs 350lbs and you aren't much more weight for similar power levels.

He got a full donor Cadillac. I don't know what it cost him but I'd bet he got the entire car for what another motor would have cost. And the project started 10 years ago when a lot of the current options weren't as plentiful.
