  1. Hey guys, So this will be my first attempt at water cooling and I'm just now starting the process. My current setup is: EVGA 1080 TI FTW3 w/AIO Kit Intel 8700K w/AIO Kit ASUS Maximus X Formula 32 GB Corsair Dominator Platinum DDR4 I'll be upgrading to a newly ordered EVGA 2080 TI FTW3 HydroCopper, and plan on using all EKWB parts with soft tubing. A picture of the new card and my current build are attached. I'm currently on a two month work trip, so wont be able to start building the new loop until March, but enjoy the pics thus far and I'll keep u all updated as I progress!
  2. If it helps, here's a picture of my current build. I'm using a 280mm AIO in the front in a push/pull config so I'm not super worried about getting a 280mm rad, 2x fans, and the res/pump up front. My main concern is the top, especially since the Maximus X Formula has a build in VRM block that I want to use.
  3. Hey guys, So I'm planning a massive upgrade to my current system. I currently have: Corsair 570X ASUS Maximus X Formula Intel 8700K w/280mm Aio EVGA 1080 TI FTW3 w/120mm AIO 32GB Corsair Dominator Platinum DDR4 However, I've been wanting to do a full custom water cooling loop for a long time and I'm finally ready to start taking the plunge. I've since purchased the new EVGA 2080 TI FTW3 HydroCopper GPU, am looking to cool my GPU, CPU, and MB. I've been looking through this and other forums and it looks like the 570X case is rather tight for rads. Therefore, my plan is to get an EKWB SE 240mm rad for the top and an EKWB SE 280mm rad for the front. This should ensure good clearance for fittings at the top-front corner of the case while providing plenty of cooling overhead. My reservoir and pump is going to be one of EKWBs D5 PWM pump/reservoir combos either mounted to the front rad or the case bottom. Tubing is going to be soft tubing all around for ease of maintenance. I'm probably going with Mayhem coolant. Being my first ever water cooling build, I'm looking for any and all advice. I'm a bit concerned with the top rad because my MB goes pretty high up in the case. I may only be able to fit one of the fans on the rad, but that shouldn't affect temps too much (I hope). Update: I realize that the Corsair 570X may not be the ideal choice for a case. I've heard a lot of people recommend the Fractal Design R6. Is this still true?
  4. Hey guys, I know this thread has been quiet for a while but I finally made a decision! EVGA just released the 2080TI FTW3 HydroCopper GPU. This card comes ready to integrate with a full custom water cooling loop so I don't have to wait for EKWB to make a custom block. I've been meaning to take the plunge into water cooling for a while, and this basically requires me too. So I'll be water cooling the CPU, MB, and GPU with EKWB (1x 120mm RAD, 2x 240mm RADs) with soft tubing! On a side note, now I'll have to figure out what to do with my EVGA 1080 TI FTW3 with the EVGA AIO kit lol. Shouldn't be too hard to sell I hope.

  6. All, I searched the forums for a while looking for recommendations for desks. Lots of users just say to build one yourself which isn't an option for me as I'd have to purchase the woodworking tools making it far more expensive than just purchasing one. I'm hoping peripherals is the correct forum to post this. Basically, I need something that will allow for my Desktop tower, a 27" monitor, 32" monitor, keyboard, and additional space for school work as well as storage. I've been looking all over the internet and I think an L-Shapped or U-Shaped desk may be the best option I have but I don't like buying poor quality as it costs more in the long run and doesn't last. Commercial desks seem to be well made but are usually much more than I'd like to spend. Anyone have any descent recommendations? Not looking to spend anymore than about $1,000 to $1,500 USD.

  8. Hey guys, So with the release of the new RTX Titan, I'm actually very interested in it (pending reviews of course). However, you can buy 2x 2080 TIs for the same price. My question is simple. Given two identical rigs with an Intel 8700K, ASUS Maximus X Formula, and 32GB of DDR4 3200 MHz RAM, what makes for a more capable gaming computer? I know DX12 and SLI aren't really getting along right now, but it still should be faster than a single gle Titan right?
  9. I can definitely understand this fear. I have it too, and I keep going back and forth between this, the 2080TI, or just keeping my 1080TI and see what happens. Thing is though, there is never really a perfect time to upgrade. Sure, there are better and worse times, but technology continues to be updated at a rapid rate. This is especially true in the higher end market, where the top of the line cell phone, CPU, GPU, whatever, will be replaced eventually. Just got to make a decision of if it makes sense for you and go from there.
  10. I'm actually considering it... Though it'll probably have to be water-cooled if I want temps to stay reasonable... With that said, you could get a top of the line 2080 TI and water cool your entire system for less than just the card. Still debating as my 1080 TI is still doing just fine.
  11. Well the new EVGA Hybrid kit came in yesterday and I was able to install it today. After multiple benchmarks, followed by hours of gameplay, I ended up with the following plus/minus a few C. GPU never got above 46!
  12. Not that it matters, or is worth anything, but I have watches just about every YouTube video (especially Jayztwocents) on WaterCooling setup and selection that I could find. As for installing all the components together, that seems simple enough, and I have experience with tearing down GPUs to install a water cooling block from my AIO Hybrid Kit from EVGA. There will ABSOLUTELY be learning happening if and when i decide to do a custom loop, which will happen eventually. For the most part, the most difficult part for me seems to be how to properly flush/clean the loop and rads prior to putting in fluid, adjusting the pump speed, and bleeding the system of air. I know that the custom loop will only perform marginally better than the two AIOs I will have installed, but for me it's more about learning how to do something I didn't think i could do and the self-fulfilment I gain from it. I mean... that and the look of the system in my Corsair 570X case.
  13. Shimejii, Thanks for the reply and opinion! I accidentally made a second post, as I thought I was making a post on the EVGA forums at first lol. In any case, I really appreciate the opinion! I think for now I'm going to stick with the AIO and hope it's a better fit than the one it is replacing. Side note, again moderators/admins, accidentally made a duplicate post, if you could delete this one I'd appreciate it!
  14. Thanks for the quick response! Yeah I didn't even know that section existed! I figured since this was still planning stages it could go here and then hop over to something like that section if I did it. Good news is EVGA has exceptional tech support so if this one's broken too I can just RMA it again or return it. I will say if I run I to another defect I'm probably just going to ask for a refund and do a custom loop lol.
