  1. I couldn't test the card myself, he just said what the problem was. It should work properly with my 500W EVGA PSU, just not under heavy load, right? https://www.asus.com/Motherboards-Components/Graphics-Cards/AREZ/AREZ-STRIX-RXVEGA64-O8G-GAMING/

  3. Hey! So I picked up a used Vega 56. Seller said that his PC turned off after 1-2 hours of gaming, I figured it was power/heat/bios/driver related, so I went ahead and bought the card at a great price (like 100USD). I came home, installed the card and the fans just spin up and there is no signal on my monitor. (it also failed to turn on a couple of times, the fans sped up and then the PC shut down) Is my PSU just not even enough to be able to boot into Windows, or is the card itself dead? I mean, even if it's not nearly at the recommended wattage, it should boot into windows, right? I don't want to go ahead and buy a 100-150 dollar PSU if the card is dead. Pic of PSU: Thank you in advance.
  4. damn, it just disappeared, but i think it was one of the Powercolor ones. this is the cheapest i could find, its still a great price https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06Y3ZQPY6/?tag=pcpapi-20 well my little 5s is on its last legs, its done a great job, but i think i just want it to rest in peace now. and ive noticed some framedrops in R6 Siege and GTA V when something extraordinary happens (lots of explosions/corpses etc). the 1050ti is a great card, but these things are bugging me. and yup, i have tweaked and lowered my settings, which fixed some of the drops, but not all of them. yeah the bottleneck is my main worry, was thinking about selling this little 1200 and getting a 1600 and then getting a new gpu, would that be a better idea? i would, eventually, but as i said above ive encountered some issues that i'd like to fix. my main goal for the summer is the phone tho, thats why im hesitating on the gpu i would upgrade my cpu sometime this year too, its just that i can get parts from the us (until september) even tho i live in europe, and the graphics cards here are more expensive than in the states, thats why im hesitating.
  5. hey guys, ive had my pc since january, and didnt look at any pc parts, because the prices were ridiculous, and i was glad that i finally had my rig working.. ..until today, and i saw the RX580 8GB go for around 250$ on newegg, and it got me thinking: should i sell my current gpu (1050ti) and get the 580, or just sod it and put that money into my Oneplus 6. its summertime, so us students can work too, and im saving up for the oneplus, but i saw the card and got excited, keep in mind that i would be barely able to afford both of them. my current specs: R3 1200 @3.8Ghz (1.29V), 8 gigs of ddr4 @2666MHz, and the Gigabyte 1050ti mentioned above. should i pull the trigger, or play it safe and buy the phone?
  6. i was actually looking at the mx-4 so i might get one of those.
  7. nope, but i can order some anytime
  8. nope, it's been on the cpu since the first boot
  9. actually that might be the issue since i've been using the stock thermalpaste for 5 months, and my cpu usages went the f*ck up
  10. but how did my pc lose so much performance in so little amount of time? i'm seeing sandy bridge i5s still kicking ass, dont say that my 2017 Ryzen 3 has lost so much horsepower
  11. Hey guys, So i've built my first ever pc in January, and since then i've been using it quite a lot (and had some major issues for about a month, but thankfully those are now gone), and a few weeks ago i've noticed that i've lost some framerates in games. For example, GTA V was running at Very High-High settings, stable 70-80 fps, and now i'm barely pulling 50 on High-Normal, and the same thing happened to R6 Siege. Is there a fix for this, other than upgrading? Thanks a lot in advance (specs, if that helps: R3 1200 @3.8GHz (1.29V), 8GB Crucial Ballistix Sport @2666MHz oc-d, and a humble little Gigabyte 1050ti (the smaller 2fan version)
  12. @Biggerboot: yeah i know, i didn't mean i think nvidia will release cards designed for mining, i was talking about the new gaming cards. But i don't know, i'm kinda new to the PC scene, it's just what i read, and what the very nice people on here told me.
  13. @Crunchy Dragon: yeah i know that we cant take anything for granted in these days, but hopefully you will be right.
  14. @Biggerboot: that's exaclty what i was planning on doing, but then again GTC is only a month away and maybe then the miner cards would start to flood the used market, but i'll try to look for something reasonable.
  15. @dizmo: the problem with used GPUs in general is my location. Here in Hungary the used market sucks (especially now), i was looking at 770s and 970s, they are rare and overpriced, a 770 (if you can find one) costs around 120-150USD (doesn't matter how much vram it has, the only difference is that the 4GB model is even more rare) and a 970 (if you can find one, again) goes for around 270-310USD, so the Hungarian used market is pretty much out of consideration, which is sad. @Crunchy Dragon: a 1070 for 350 would be super nice (even for around 400, considering that a new one costs around 780-800USD here in Hungary), but even a 1060 6GB would suit my needs.
