  1. Oh! I can try that. Thanks for the suggestion.
  2. I built my NAS machine on the third of June (7/3), bought two fresh 4TB Ironwolfs and slapped it into my old computer which runs e3 1230v2, 16GB of ram, with 256GB Samsung SSD (MLC I suppose?). Firstly, it went smooth and VMs were running fine on the machine, but twos days before, I got the message of "UNHEALTHY" that shows on my management interface like this: Until yesterday, I was still able to read the pool and VMs on the disk were still running fine, but today, VMs are not running anymore and Pools cannot be read. Here is the S.M.A.R.T Information I got from smartctl: the configuration database and will be reset on reboot. root@truenas[~]# smartctl -a /dev/ada1 smartctl 7.2 2020-12-30 r5155 [FreeBSD 12.2-RELEASE-p6 amd64] (local build) Copyright (C) 2002-20, Bruce Allen, Christian Franke, www.smartmontools.org === START OF INFORMATION SECTION === Model Family: Seagate IronWolf Device Model: ST4000VN008-2DR166 Serial Number: ZDH9R4E9 LU WWN Device Id: 5 000c50 0db6c61d9 Firmware Version: SC60 User Capacity: 4,000,787,030,016 bytes [4.00 TB] Sector Sizes: 512 bytes logical, 4096 bytes physical Rotation Rate: 5980 rpm Form Factor: 3.5 inches Device is: In smartctl database [for details use: -P show] ATA Version is: ACS-3 T13/2161-D revision 5 SATA Version is: SATA 3.1, 6.0 Gb/s (current: 3.0 Gb/s) Local Time is: Wed Jul 7 04:39:59 2021 PDT SMART support is: Available - device has SMART capability. This is the alarm it gave me. What should I do? I don't have any important data yet on the drive... and I was running two pools on different drive so I could backup manually instead of RAID 0s, so the other drive is still working.
  3. hmmm... I'll try buy a 2.5G switch actually, seems like a more reasonable way. Though I try to use the plan 1 first, see how it goes and see if I'll buy the switch. Thanks for you time and effort! Have a nice day and keep well
  4. hmmm... 10Gbe switch here in Taiwan still costs a lot and used hardware is very rare... Maybe I'll buy it off Chinese Website? like Taobao or whatever but where would I put the switch tho, like the graph I drew? (the third one?)
  5. Thanks for you reply! Nice to hear that the NAS can be between my PC and the router. 2.5Gbs isn't my choice tho... (I'm broke)
  6. Yes, and that was the reason why I bought the lens, not using the mic itself in the cam and distortion can be fixed. Though the weight can be a bit of problem for me...
  7. Well, right now the only pro lens (over 500$ price tag) I have is the Sigma 18-35 F1.8. Before I bought the lens, I did a lot of researches and all the reviewers said the quality is very good (Comparable to prime lens or GM, L series lens) (Some video creators also use this lens as well) My thoughts of the lens: Benefits: Very good quality, chromatic aberration isn't too much of an issue No moving focus rings The lens quality itself is extraordinary (Made out of metal, feels very, very nice) Downsides: Autofocusing is audible (Not too much with external Mic) Autofocusing is not the best in the world (A bit slow... faster than some old STM lenses I'll say(like 18-55)) Very Heavy Only APSC compatible (unless using crop modes on FF Cameras) Some distortion can be observed (excepts 24mm)
  8. So basically, I'm trying to setup a NAS server on my current PC and build another new one. And I wanna connect the network cables like this My Main Rig <----(2.5G)----> NAS <-------(1G)------->router (WiFi) (Router not capable of 2.5G, a TP-Link AX10) So the only way I'll be able to connect to the Internet only through NAS right? since the MB only have 1 2.5G port, and the fact that my two PCs (both server and main rig) is located at some distance to my router (About 20m), so two cables like this won't be my choice. My Main Rig <--------(2.5G)--------> NAS <---------------(1G)------------->router <-----------------------------------1G-------------------------------> or should I add another network card on my main rig and both connects to a switch? like this: My Main Rig <----------(2.5G)--------->Nas<----(1G----> Switch <----1G-----> router <--------------------------1G--------------------> though I am more towards the idea of the first one (not sure if it's feasible) Is there any suggestion to this? btw, except for FreeNAS, is there any other OS that you guys recommends? The two rig's specifications The NAS: e3 1230 v2 + Gigabyte H77 d3sh + 16GB RAM + may HDDs (haven't bought yet) The "Future" PC: R7 5800X + TUF Gaming plus wifi B550 + 16GB RAM + PCIe SSD + RX570 (bruh all GPUs are out of stock lol) Lastly, thanks for you patience reading my nonsense questions (I am no expert at this)
  9. ok fine... Seems like reinstalling is my only options then. Debugging is too hard. Thanks for the help mate, I'll reinstall when I finish my report
  10. In Safe Mode, It did work and install. But when I got back to the normal system, it doesn't anymore. What steps could I take next?
  11. So as the title says, lots of programs on my computer keeps crashing, like audacity, audacity installer, event viewer, Spotify, (Basically lots of programs), though my chrome and file viewer still runs. And I did run a system check on cmd too, what could I do next? Oh, maybe I should give you a bit of info on my system: E3 1230v2, Gigabyte H77-D3SH, 4 transcend 4GB DDR3 1600s, two SSDs and two HDDs, and a RX 570 graphics card, running windows ten with two monitors.
  12. I said IT teacher, which is IT apartment... been complaining for so long time, and my VPN connection won't drop on Mac devices
  13. I've no idea if I have asked this question before, but I have this problem now, so I am asking now... So, at my school, there are a lot of people using their laptops. But they never have any problem connecting to the WiFI, only mine will. If people are not using it, my wifi comes back itself. I have told IT teacher to check it out, but they never do so. Tried to reinstalled Wifi driver, unofficial WiFI driver, official wifi driver... not working. Once I opened my laptop, found out that one wifi wire is poped off. And I have soldered it back. I used to have that problem, for some reason it wasn't happening anymore. And I re-installed my windows, it comes back again. Here is my specs: Laptop name: Lenovo 500s-13isk CPU: i5-6200U GPU: Intel HD520 SSD: Samsung 256GB ssd WiFi: Qualcomm QCA9377 dual band wireless card. all the settings are default, and the driver is released in 2016 May I found out that if I connects to OpenVPN which is located in my house, wifi disconnects more frequently. Even without connecting VPN, yet is does not work sometimes. Guys, please help me.
  14. Oh, understand a bit now... but I am still confused in networking :P BTW, 64 ticks is 64 packets / s? And How will I test my latency between my router for 64 ticks? because if it is gonna be below 5ms, I am not gonna buy a ethernet cable.
