  1. Its annoying since I don't have other computers or laptops to even work off. Just my desktop PC but I do have a MacBook Air though I doubt I can test it on that. Though I have now, just found other people reporting issues on the OBS forums: https://obsproject.com/forum/threads/win10-bsod-with-s-video-input.81530/#post-341386 https://obsproject.com/forum/threads/startech-hdcap-usb-3-0-video-capture-device-bsod.74099/ https://obsproject.com/forum/threads/crash-with-startech-usb3hdcap-capture-device.63360/ And there's a few more too.
  2. This is what StarTech said to me in the latest e-mail: "Hi Jesse, If you’ve done for example a 3 day plugged in test on the Laptop and not gotten a blue screen, that proves that it’s just a setting, or just plain interop with the other Gigabyte motherboard I’m afraid. Our hardware and drivers work on a different platform without issue, as we normally see with this unit. As mentioned we don’t get reports of this unit or driver causing BSOD. If you’ve not done that 3 days of testing, please consider it just to be sure this is the case. If you have it blue screen after 24 hours on your Gigabyte, then a 72 hour clear (no BSOD) test on the laptop proves how I’m thinking is correct. Let us know how you make out!"
  3. It seems that no one else has reported to have the issues that I'm having with this card. I'm sure its the fault of the drivers, since people have had issues with previous drivers in the past but with the latest drivers, no one has reported anything to do with getting a BSOD (other than my friend and I). I would rather not have to send my unit away for testing and looking to see if anyone else has experienced the issue.
  4. Hi there people. I've recently been experiencing BSOD's when using StarTechs USB3HDCAP capture card through OBS. I've been in contact with StarTech support for a while now and they believe its not a driver issue but a fault within the unit its self or some kind of option/setting error. Even though a friend of mine has also experienced a BSOD when using this capture card. So yeah, this is quite important as I really need some help here regarding this issue and would like to provide StarTech with further assistance regarding the matter. Any knowledge regarding this issue would be fantastic, so please do comment down below if this has happened to you. Here is an image of the BSOD, every time it happens it comes up with the same 'What failed': https://imgur.com/a/Kx0Mz Also, I have been having this issue even when I had recently wiped my computer clean and did a fresh install of Windows 10. My computer also exceeds the requirements of this capture card. So yeah. Any help would be grand. Thank you.
  5. Oh yeah, of course. I bloody love this mouse and if I could, I would buy another one but sadly new ones go for around £100 or more on Amazon. So if my 500s ever hits the dirt, then at least I know I can go with the 502 and be happy.
  6. Hey there people. I've been using the Logitech G500s mouse since 2013 and wondering what the next step up is? I love the ergonomic design, as it fits into my hand perfectly and you can even adjust the weight too. Also, it has all the extra buttons I would need without having to go overboard and adding tons that I don't need. I noticed that Logitech sell what is called the G502 Proteus Spectrum mouse, I don't know much about it but does anyone use it? If so, what are your thoughts and did you use the G500s before it? Thanks guy.
  7. Hey there people. Wondering if anyone can offer some suggestions in regards to a motherboard/CPU combination for those who are into heavy content creation/streaming situations. As of now, here are my current basic computer specifications: CPU: Intel Core i7 6700K @4.4Ghz Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z170X Designare RAM: 16GB (2x8GB) Corsair DDR4 Vengeance LPX Red GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 GAMING ACX 3.0 8GB As you can see, its pretty good for what it is though I've been hearing increasingly fantastic things about AMD's Ryzen lineup. So, for someone like me who is often editing dealing with 4K footage, heavy rendering loads and so on. What kind of motherboard/CPU combination would you recommend for the price of £800 or less? Also, feel free to post any videos that could help me out here or anything of the sort. Thanks guys, loving the community here!
  8. Thanks for the help and suggestion guys! Since I am most often editing videos, streaming and other similar tasks; I will be monitoring my RAM to see if 32GB is actually needed. Once again, thanks everyone!
  9. Hey there everyone! So, I'm looking to make some small upgrades to my computer and thought I could look into possibly upgrading my RAM. For a while now, I've been making use of the 'Corsair 16GB DDR4 Red Vengeance LPX 3000MHz Memory Kit for Skylake'. Now 16GB is pretty good for anyone's needs but as a video editor who handles 4K footage and other heavy tasks, I got to thinking if 32GB's instead of 16GB would make much of a difference. Just looking for some thoughts and opinions on the matter, as I don't know how much of a difference it could really make. I can easily just order the same thing again and then have 32GB of RAM ready to go. So yeah, any help would be grand, thanks!
  10. I mean, sure! Don't need to ask. I'm just primarily interested in XLR since that's what I use.
  11. Never seen a microphone that is both USB and XLR. Looks pretty neat.
  12. Not sure how to respond to that other than, looks pretty funk and well done on building your own thing. I know I couldn't do something like that.
  13. My first XLR microphone, I love the 58. Sounds is so good!
