  1. Great edit and music choice.
  2. I've read that review too so I'm fairly optimistic but just really on half half on everything so far as I've seen a few smaller reviewers do this card but nothing on the big end other than Gamer Nexus talking about all aspects of the card (thank god).
  3. Thank god for Amazon's liberal return policy, I can at least test the card out.
  4. Ah yes I remember that video granted I'm not sure how much or maybe it's the same as the one I got was the AMP Edition and not the Extreme (I think the 3 fan ones are called). Granted they might be just similar since it's the same company.
  5. Thanks! I was looking online on the reviews of the card since I didn't want to miss out on the price for the backorder. Many said that it gets up to the near 80 celcius so which made me concerned unless 1080 Tis usually get to that temperature. I think I should be fine since my case does have 3 intakes that would be blowing in the card's direction.
  6. Hi Everyone! I just backordered the Zotac 1080 Ti as it was at "almost" MSRP pricing here in Canada. I was wondering about the choice of the card in general as I heard that the cooler isn't exactly great since it can get hot fairly quickly. I do come from using a 1070 Ti Strix card and I know that system gets fairly cool and even better quiet. Thoughts about the card in general?
  7. Wow awesome looking PC rig! I always use DDU just because I'm OCD like that.
  8. I just upgraded to an XB241YU monitor and it's working great, I don't get exactly 144 FPS to fully utilize the high refresh rate but I sit on average around ~120 To me going from 60hz 1080p to a 144hz 1440p monitor was definitely worth it, you just need to make sure your card can support it well as I'm using a 1070 Ti and game with OC Mode on (Asus GPU Tweak)
  9. Ya, I was using TN Panel prior with the Asus Monitor and honestly unless you're a photographer, video editor, or an overall visual creator you don't really need an IPS. I don't see any issues regarding the colours and the brightness since I use it as my primary monitor but it is angled off to the side. Large viewing angels so there are 0 issues at all. Honestly, I was in the same boat was as you since I was thinking of getting the Asus rog Pg279q as there were a few refurb models but unsure if they were any good as apparently ordering one and getting a quality one was like the lottery. I settled on this as it was a decent price, works on my budget. The weirdest thing is that the XB241YU in the pictures on the store shows a large thick bezel but when I opened it up, it was actually the "zero" bezel unit so that was a great touch and a surprise. The big thing is to just remember to turn on the high refresh rate regardless of what brand you use when you get it, I was a dummy and thought G-Sync would take care of that as I wasn't impressed with the first hour until I realized that it defaults to 60 hz with Windows settings. If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask as I did a ton of research as well. Edit: Forgot to mention that IPS is great for visual creators and TN is perfectly fine for gaming.
  10. I actually just picked up the Acer Predator XB241YU today and wow it really feels like there's a difference as I was using a 60hz regular LCD display.
  11. Hi everyone! I was looking at this Monitor (https://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236828). Has anyone purchased refurbished from Newegg before? Is it an actual factory refurb or something that Newegg does internally? Also if there's any different recommendation I'd be open to hearing other suggestions.
  12. That's basically it since if she plans to build a higher end system that should be more than enough.
  13. Well I settled for this one https://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151189&_ga=2.251034566.1550383981.1516637091-472736426.1514999434&_gac=1.190345689.1515444480.Cj0KCQiAyszSBRDJARIsAHAqQ4omCahrQ7NkgQBEPqCQmTavDH2kGqWroy0BFTnM225whjo8FF_pEg0aAqg5EALw_wcB Seems like it's more than enough to power her computer since through the calculator she would need about 450 W but planning to buy a 1060. Currently: i5-3570K, SSD, 3 fans, and a 960. She just wants to get on PUBG with our group and that works out since it's primarily my old system.
