    @ShadowChaser
    I absolutely love my aero 15x. Dropped in my own extra stick of ram and another 1tb ssd. Runs great.
    Since I do development in the ms world, I even run 4 vms on it at the same time and it handles it without issue.
    My work issued Dell precision 7520 that cost 1000$ more can't keep up.

    With that budget I'd build a dedicated gaming machine and buy an ultra book. My water cooled 2080 can't hit those frame rates unless things are all at minimum.
    I have a aero 15x which is a great portable machine that I also use with an egpu as a dock. Might be worth looking into something like that so you have a more portable machine.

    So dp wasn't working on the previous card?
    That might be a bad cable or something with the monitor then. Austin Evans had a problem with display port cable being bad causing a computer to reboot and not work. Jay had an issue to.

    Option a you can't really do with a regular soldering iron. If you have a hot air station then sure.
    Personally I would go with b even though I have a pretty good iron.

    m9x3mos got a reaction from Mister Woof in is the dark rock 4 enough for a 9900k?
    If running at stock and not intending to run the processor at max usage for extended periods that is fine.
    I have a 9900k that I rendered video on, at stock with a 280 aio was barely enough to keep it in check.
    Over clocked to 5.0 all core in a custom loop with a 280 and a 360 I still get Temps in the 80s.

    m9x3mos got a reaction from Eigenvektor in be ways to restore and prevent heat pipes beginning to go green.
    While i agree that while wet it can be pretty flammable. Once dry, enamel nail polish has been okay for me. I used it on some copper and brass fittings on a coal stove and has been fine for years now. I doubt the heat pipes are going to get hotter than that.

    Sounds possible to be some sort of power issue. Do you have a different power supply to try?

    @W-L
    Yeah, that was what i was thinking too. I'll probably just leave it for now as it would probably take me about 3 hours to do the work and I'd need to leak test it again.
    Don't think it is damaged and probably just some sort of evaporative residue but figured it doesn't hurt to ask.
    Overall very happy with how everything turned out now other than that one thing.

    Sadly, that is to be expected with cellular modems. They are not really a replacement for land line services. No matter what the carrier tells you.

    @Bigfanirl
    What happens when you plug your computer directly into the modem and do a speed test?
    I would start there first to see what speed you get in first and go from there.
    Far too many variables to consider before ruling that out. You are not having issues with overlap which can also cause problems, so that is good.

    m9x3mos got a reaction from Windows7ge in New hyper-v host threadripper or ryzen
    Thank you @Windows7ge, I'll see if I can get that deal on the 2950x, motherboard, and cooler deal. That is about 400 to 500 cheaper than the 3950x setup since that would be a new purchase. And while it's nice to have the higher performance, I don't think I'll need it for my use case. And in a few years, might be able to pick up the 2990wx used for less than 1000 and that can be nice future upgrades where there will be no path on the x570 for upgrades possibly. It might take more power with the 2950x but shouldn't be a lot and still probably less than the t7500 that I have now.

    Sadly no. The body is different with how the screen fits in it. because of the differences in the body design, that isn't possible.

    The nice thing about them is you can get the kit with all the tools you need. I recently purchased one for the original pixel. Too new to say anything other than it fit and it works. Does work like new again though.

    Windows 7 machines still had a coa sticker on the computer somewhere that had it on it. Hopefully that wasn't removed from the computer.

    To me that sounds like the computer was bought off eBay. And that is probably how they activated Windows on the computer. More than likely after about 180 days there will be messages about activating Windows I'd bet.

    At 1080p on high, the 1070 should be able to handle pretty much any have without issue. But yes, it does someone depend on the game. Many are still single thread and are limited due to single core performance.

    Unless you are doing creative work, I wouldn't go 4k. Look for high refresh rate instead. Then that pretty much opens a large field though.

    @Sanibola even a 2060 wouldn't be a horrible buy in comparison. It performs a little better in initial tests and has the other new features and is only about 30$ more or something like that.

    suggested monitor anything 1440p over 120hz would have 0 issues with that setup. 4k not really worth it imho
