  3. Do a more extensive malware detection using ESET online scanner. Free, no disk space used, easy to use, in depth scanning.
  4. How many discs have you tried? Just as likely to be the disc as it is the reader.
  5. If you're into networking and need a secure connection you could turn it into a Pfsense machine. Just my first thought when I saw this.
  6. Find the DART version you need and use it to change the admin password. No resetting or refreshing required.
  7. When it comes to cooling and performance, my best experiences have always been with MSI and Gigabyte. Best coolers and high clock speeds.
  8. Putting the drive in another computer will not help, it has a bitlocker on it. The partition would be the same, you'll have 2 important partitions, you're recovery partition and your boot/data storage partition. My best guess at this point would be to download DART onto a flash drive or disc and boot from that, and use DART to change the Admin password so that you can run the start up repair as Admin. Google will be very helpful for that process.
  9. If you're still using Windows 10, might I suggest using Windows 10 Update Assistant. It's basically the same as Windows Update but it seems to fix that update/broken updates almost every time. I've tried it on 4 or 5 comps here at work and it's worked on all of them.

  11. I had a corrupted wireless driver on a laptop yesterday. Google the model and maker of your computer as well as the name of the driver and download that media. Use that tool to remove it and then re-install (if that's what you are trying to do).
  12. Try using the command prompt (cmd.exe) and flush your ip settings. Run ipconfig /release and then run ipconfig /renew. If that doesn't immediately fix it I would check my computer for a rootkit or other malware that can create services that use your bandwith/ hardware resources. Sounds to me like they somehow transferred a rootkit to your computer that starts up when you launch games.
  13. Sounds like the motherboard is working or the fans etc would not be receiving power or the right amount. It's more likely the LCD cable between the motherboard and display, which is almost always very cheap to replace. If you've taken apart laptops before and replaced parts this isn't easy but it's definitely do-able.
  14. Check your event viewer, sounds to me like your hard drive is failing or will fail soon. Edit: Is this a laptop or desktop? Did you build this or is it prebuilt?
