  1. I thought the manufacturer would be easier, well i try the retailer next time
  2. Hello peoples tl;dr If you need to RMA a corsair product to corsair (as of somewhere like newegg) it may not have to pay shipping. Check your local laws about warrantys as countrys like Australia and have laws requiring repairs, replacements and refunds to be completely free. Examples https://www.accc.gov.au/consumers/consumer-rights-guarantees/repair-replace-refund (under repairs section- says about free repeairs) Full story: So i recently started buying parts for my new pc https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/DYpRJ8 (cost in AUD equivalent of about $1500 USD). When all the parts had arrived and started building i realised the 24 pin power connector wouldn't fit into the motherboard. On closer inspection i found one corner pin was damaged and the plastic was bent out of shape. So i contacted corsair and two business days later they replied with a shipping label. But i had to pay for shipping from Australia to Taiwan which was about $50 for the cheapest option with insurance and tracking. This really annoyed me because why should i pay for a manufacturer defect, sure enough if i broke it. So i emailed back to corsair asking for free shipping and they made me a "One time exception". This really grinds my gears as they think they can get away with this. Also i know other people have said this but the more people aware the better.
  3. How is your ASUS PB277Q 2k 75hz, I'm looking for a 1440p monitor and having trouble deciding. Also i have a gtx 1070 so driving will be fine.

It's working pretty great I must say. Had it for about a month, have 0 complaints. It's a really robust monitor, and it is a huge improvement from the 1080p 144hz I had before.

Only complaint I have is that it's not 144hz, but with a 1070 you'll almost never go below 60fps anyways. I play Rainbow 6 Siege at 2k ultra settings and never drop below 60fps.

Sorry for the late response btw

  4. Hi, i'm looking for a 1440p monitor at 60hz maybe 24" (i don't really care for a higher refresh rate as i have a 1070 and want image quality over really high refresh rates, although if a 144hz monitor is not hugely more expensive i would buy it). I have a budget around 400-500 usd and im in Australia. I have been searching but i'm finding the monitor one of the hardest parts of my build to chose. Thanks
  5. Post your specs and don't raise the voltage to 2v
  6. ok thanks Lurick, for point 2 my mum wants me to keep it but i might return it and get a 500GB ssd
  7. Hi I've bought all the parts i think i want for my pc Prices in AUD PCPartPicker part list: https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/DYpRJ8 Price breakdown by merchant: https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/DYpRJ8/by_merchant/ CPU: AMD - Ryzen 5 1600X 3.6GHz 6-Core Processor ($268.00) CPU Cooler: Noctua - NH-U12S SE-AM4 CPU Cooler ($70.00) Motherboard: Asus - STRIX B350-F GAMING ATX AM4 Motherboard ($157.00) Memory: G.Skill - Trident Z RGB 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3000 Memory ($268.00) Storage: SanDisk - Ultra 3D 1TB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($347.30) Video Card: MSI - GeForce GTX 1070 8GB Founders Edition Video Card ($635.45) Case: Cooler Master - MasterCase 5 ATX Mid Tower Case ($60.00) Power Supply: Corsair - TXM Gold 650W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply ($115.00) Keyboard: ROCCAT - Isku FX Wired Gaming Keyboard ($70.00) Total: $2005.75 AUD/ $1500 USD Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2018-04-01 22:16 AEST+1000 I just have some questions 1. I was going to get a magnetic screw bowl (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0086X6SBS/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A2ZSTDEXO9VTZF&psc=1) thing maybe a magnetic screw mat (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B012CT1XVG/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=A2FHAMIUPI2JOW&psc=1) and a anti static strap (I have no idea and it the most important), any recommendations? 2. I was thinking of returning the 1TB ssd and get a 500GB one instead (i bought it through new egg and i think i can get all the money with the return policy) and use a old 500GB HDD or buy a 1 TB one. Is the ease of use worth a extra $150 AUD/ ~$100USD or just spend that on a for a better monitor. 3. I'm going to get a 1440p 60hz monitor (I will mainly play RPGs as i have crappy internet), again any recommendations? After some research, i have found these (https://www.newegg.com/global/au/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236453) and https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/dell-24-gaming-monitor-s2417dg/apd/210-AIZS/monitors-monitor-accessories. I really have no idea as to what to get, I think i want a ips panel since a 5-10 ms delay probably won;t be noticeably and i want better colours. Thanks guys
  8. Hello everyone. I was planning on getting the ASUS ROG Strix B350-F Motherboard with either a 1600 or 1600X($20Au more + cooler) and G.SKILL TridentZ RGB Series 16GB (2 X 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3000 (PC4 24000) Desktop Memory Model F4-3000C15D-16GTZR. Would the mobo be any good for overclocking? I might overclock my cpu especially if i get the 1600. I have no experience as this is my first build. i have heard stuff about heat sinks on VRMS and stuff but wanted advice. Thanks
  9. I just bought a founders edition 1070 off nividias Australia website, and a case, keyboard, fans and WiFi card locally second hand.
  10. Hello everybody This is my first computer build (well first one on my own with bought parts, long story). I have been researching for the last couple of months and have a rough idea of what i want. Yesterday i pulled the trigger and bought a GTX 1070 Founders Edition of NIVIDIA's Australian website for $635AU. So i am basing this build around the 1070 and a black Cooler Master MasterBox 5 http://www.coolermaster.com/case/mid-tower/masterbox-5-black/ i am possibly getting tomorrow second hand or else something like it online. I want a dark asthetic with some rgb but i am open to suggestions. I live (obviously) in Australia and have a budget of $1900 - $2200 AU roughly (including graphics card so $1200-$1500). I mostly going to use this for school work and gaming, playing some new AAA games and i might overclock later but will get aftermarket coolers then if needed. I am upgrading because my older lenovo laptop was never rally up to gaming and is now struggling. So far i have: PCPartPicker part list: https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/s8cTHh Price breakdown by merchant: https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/s8cTHh/by_merchant/ CPU: AMD - Ryzen 5 1600 3.2GHz 6-Core Processor ($257.00 @ Shopping Express) Motherboard: Asus - STRIX B350-F GAMING ATX AM4 Motherboard ($158.00 @ Shopping Express) Memory: G.Skill - Trident Z 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3000 Memory ($265.00 @ Umart) Storage: Samsung - 850 EVO-Series 1TB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($377.00 @ Centre Com) Storage: 1 TB hardrive (Purchased) Video Card: MSI - GeForce GTX 1070 8GB Founders Edition Video Card (Purchased For $635.45) Power Supply: Corsair - TXM Gold 650W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply ($128.00 @ Shopping Express) Monitor: BenQ - BL2420PT 23.8" 2560x1440 60Hz Monitor ($388.00 @ Skycomp Technology) Other: Cooler Master MasterBox 5 (Purchased For $60.00) Total: $2268.45 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2018-03-11 21:17 AEDT+1100 What do you guys think? i don't really care for the ram choice as long as its +2800mhz and dark and cheap, or suits the style and would except RGB ram except geil. Same for the PSU, i just something decent from the PSU list on the LTT forums that was cheap and semi modular. SSD: i just want 1TB~ i have heard good stuff about Samsung drives. Monitor: i want a 1440p 60hz that isn't too expensive, im not going to be playing anything like cs:go, basically only single player games (I have Australian NBN satellite so i have 800 ping), either way a 1070 can't really run 1440p 144hz. Also i might overclock the monitor but probably not. I will be running dual monitors, but i all ready have a old optima i will use for the moment so i only want to buy one. Motherboard: i don't really know, i did like aura sync and other features of the board but if there are better offers i would take them. I don't need any peripherals. Well i am going to bed (forcibly) so comment if i missed anything Thanks and sorry for the wall of text.
  11. Thanks goatshapedfish I was just looking at the i5-8400 vs ryzen 5 1600 on that website, i think i will go with ryzen.
  12. I was looking at the Ryzen 1600 or 1600X but from what i saw the i5 was better for gaming. Would the 1600 or 1600X be better for gaming or more future proof. Thanks
