I don't agree that It wouldn't be worth it to get a laptop and to just use the Tablet. I understand the feeling is different and the Laptop has more use, Including (but not limited too): Bigger Storage More App (namely Win32 over IOS, Or ifyou go mac theres still more there) Better Chrome sync with google Accounts Better Options for File Stoarage, With that said I do agree that your parents bought it so ultimitley their decision. But you could still talk to them. Tell them the advantage, make them understand, maybe do some research yourself to be 100% sure you're correct. Maybe find the EXCACT laptop you want (you likely wont get that exact one but at least show them the advantage of that).

Although I have some ideas I also have a limited budget. I'd like to keep it below 1000ish dollars, give or take a few hundred. I want something that can run like GTA 5, tomb raider, maybe some VR, just heavy games at a face t FPS, at 1080p (Although if possible 4k would be nice, but I've accepted that it's expensive). I'd like to stick to AMD for processing and Nvidia or AMD for Ghraphics (basically screw intergrated) I'd live with HDD but SSD is preferred.

I remeber The ORIGINAL XBOX could run Windows XP (and Vista/7 on basic graphic if performed so carefully and correctly albeit not well). XP ran well ish but becuase of special ports and replacement of drives, and eeehh. It was impractical. But kewl. But they also made Xboxs out of Desktop parts then too...

My school just let me use Windows. It's not a requirement. If they allow you to use your own laptop then use your own laptop. They can't really force you to risk the life of that PC with forcing chrome onto it. 1. It's hard to undo 2. It's hard to do. Like trying to put mac on a Windows based machine. I would just use it like it is until your yelled at

A few things 1. Dual Core will suck with it but is possible. 2. I'd recommend upgrading ram at some point AND 3. You may not be able to get a 64-bit version, and be limited to 32 as your previous system was 32 bit. Although if your processor supports 64 but then definitely try it 4. I do agree with others I do recommend either an SSD or Hard Drive, and maybe use part of your hard drive, or a Flash drive for ReadyBoost
