aurrorax got a reaction from Whatisthis in Unexplainable reboots on extreme high end system
Update,
GPU , not the issue, tested with IGPU, still crashed
CPU, has been swapped after RMA, still crashed
PSU, got an RMA swapped one, still crashed
RAM , is incoming in the mail to be swapped. has been swapped, issue persists..
Mobo, ordered a more "reasonable motherboard the Z790 Aorus master and the XTREME will go back, as this is the last part it must be the issue.
FUCK ME this has been a haunted system if I have ever seen one

aurrorax got a reaction from BiG StroOnZ in Recently build machine clearance issues
Hi,
I recently built the machine with below specs :
AMD Ryzen 7 3800X
64GB (4x16) Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro (2 missing in the picture)
Corsair Hydro H100i RGB Platinum
Gigabyte Aorus X570 ULTRA
EVGA GeForce RTX 2080 Super Black
6x Corsair LL120
Corsair Commander PRO
64GB (4x16) Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro
2 x Samsung 970 EVO 1TB
Corsair iCue 220T Airflow
However I was forced to place my AIO in the front of the case instead of the top due to clearance issues with the Vegeance pro RGB ram (wider than normal), I feel this is an oversight from corsair because literally 1mm more space in height and this problem would be non-existent.
This results in idle GPU Temps of 57 C*, which does not allow the fans to shut off, removing the AIO from the front results in idle temps of 50-51 C*
Anyone have any suggestions of how to move the AIO to the top? or some good looking air cooler that might work? I tried the NH-U12S Chromax Black, however R7 3800X temps were around 58 c* idle.
Basically im just wondering if I'm missing something stupidly obvious here
Thanks in advance (pictures attached)

I would say V10 or G4 if you want to save a little. Also you might want to wait just a little bit longer, the S7 and G5 are going to be announced at MWC. Check if any of those devices have it, at the very least the prices of current gen phones will go down a little.

If it's not listed, it's 60Hz.

It's not AMD, we know some HP Pavilions overheat due to a lack of cooling. My craptop hits 105C when downloading a steam game.

aurrorax reacted to Toxicair in ROG Swift and GTX 670
I did some research into that monitor as I have the same question as OP. That QNIX monitor drops frames when overclocked creating an effect similar to 120 hz but cheating to get it. Source: http://www.anandtech.com/show/7931/qnix-qx2710leddport-review
Similar to OP I have gtx 670 sli and am thinking of getting the Rog swift as well. Why this $1000 monitor and not a new video card? I expect massive gains from Nvidias next generation pascal. Maxwell seems totally flushed out at the moment as it has been out as laptop gpu architecture for almost a year and the best 980 is about 10-15% better than a 780 ti of the last generation. Not to mention directX 12 will be a factor in the next card. The g-sync capability should smooth out the picture from SLI as well but I have heard of some inconsistencies using sli with g-sync.
Monitors however do not need to be upgraded as frequently as GPUS and this one seems to be a keeper. WQHD at 144hz as well as g-sync should last through the times. I experienced a 4k monitor already and I feel even next generations graphics card will not have the power to push 4k with 144hz. The only alternative to this caliber of a monitor is if another similar one comes out at a lower cost. Thoughts?

aurrorax reacted to melias24 in Can i bend the pins on an included dvia to vga adapter?
Hey guys, so i need a dvid lead, but i only have a dvia to vga adapter. So my question. In the picture (i circled the pins i'm wondering if i can bend them) can i bend the 4 circled pins and use it like that? Or will it not work at all? I have 2-3 of these adapters so it's fine if i break one.
Thanks,
~Elias

The Zotac card looks amazing, and I think my dad will be more than happy with a 900 series instead of two 670 sucking power.

What happened to the idea of progress?
Moving forward, making things better, more of this, more of that, ALL OF THE EVERYTHING.
Nowadays it's just like, "30fps is okay", "we had to compromise", "we couldn't do this", "it's too hard".
For fuck's sake..
